I have an 8 year old deaf mini Aussie. He is the best dog ever. Follows my husband and I everywhere we go. Super silly, and just wants love and attention. We love him so much.
We have two mini ausies 3 yrs and 5 yrs. took them on a 2-1/2 week 2600 mile road trip along the Oregon and California coast this month. They sat quietly in the back seat during the whole travel. They remained quiet in their kennels at the hotel rooms while we stepped out for a quick dinner. And how much they enjoyed the beaches and long hikes! What a joy they were to have them come along. Best traveling dogs!
Yep all of this is exactly like our boy Parker, who is a 5 year old mini. The best part is how they follow you everywhere. Even if they’re sound asleep, if you get up, they are right there with you. We love him so much. He’s an amazing dog. Wonderful breed.
We found our Aussie/Sheltie mix at a rescue when Corona Virus started scaring people. He's only 2 1/2 months old at the moment, but he shows a lot of similarities to Blue- butt wiggles, excitement after we've been gone for five minutes, talkative, ect. I LOVE HIM SO MUCH.
Thanks for sharing with us all. While I am not in a position to get an Aussi Shep, I can live vicariously through you folks who are devoted to your canine companions.
Pie, my full size Blue Merle, was the most laid back Aussie he passed away over 15 years ago. He loved children and was extremely patient with them even when young. He would happily chase a ball or frisbee, but wouldn't bring it back, he would just lay down and chew on it. The exception was if you threw it in the water, then her thought her was a lab and would bring it back so you could throw it again. I live near Lake Michigan and he was fearless in the water. I miss him so much. I have Aussie radar now and stop till pretty every one I see.
I had a stunningly beautiful Blue Merle Mini named Ollie who lived to be almost 15. He was the best dog ever. I thought he was going to live to be 20 because he was in such amazing shape and still super active. He was incredibly playful, goofy, and silly his entire life. Sadly, he died 7 years ago from Lymphoma. I still miss him dearly.
We have had three Aussies and Aussie Mixes.... we have a 7 month old boy mini right now - yup that’s like our Aussie too. Our last Aussie lived 16 1/2 years and lived FULLY..... best friends with her. Our first boy full breed Aussie....in love with him and he is so in love with us. We enjoy teaching him tricks for mental engagement when weather is not as conducive to outdoor activities. Touch Sticks and Flirt *Boas* .... they learn quickly and retain forever! ENJOY the LOVE! Amy in Seattle
I have a very vocal wiggle butt myself! She is 10 months old now and I love her! She also smiles while snorting and sneezing whenever she comes inside or I see her after being away!
I have a mini Aussi blue merle, 8 months old, her name is Grace. Loving, playful, loves digging holes outside and dipping her paws in the river behind my house. A true joy!
I have a 6 year old blue merle toy Aussie. She weighs almost 9 lbs. I got her when she was five and we are best friends now. I still have to cope with her being so skittish, but she's getting better. The couple that had her didn't take good care of her. She is the sweetest dog I've ever had.
We have an Aussie-black lab mix. The farm we got her from at 6 weeks old docked her tail to a short nub so she does the wiggle-butt thing too. It is the cutest thing to see! She's spoiled rotten but smart as a whip. We swear she understands every word we say; you can tell her something and almost watch the gears turn as she processes it. Sweetest dog we've ever seen.
Our mini Aussie is the best for us. We love him so much. From puppy to age 1 we went through some challenges likes puppy biting, barking at strangers, not listening off leash, but now at age 1+ he's come a long way and we never did formal training. His come and stay/wait are pretty reliable even when there's another dog (and he loves other dogs... almost as much as he loves us!) He has adapted to our lifestyle which does include low activity days. As long as we play games with him, he is happy! The shedding is crazy. All in all, our lives are so much more awesome with a mini Aussie in it!
That’s a great description! 🎉 I have a 14th weeks old mini aussie puppy. He is so great but I also have problem with the puppy biting. Do I have something to prevent the biting or is it normal in his age? Thanks! ☺️
@@tdev_s congrats! I'm no expert, but with patience and time and some focus on your part, I think he'll grow out of it. Based on all the zak George, etc videos we used to watch, I think rewarding him with treats when he doesn't bite maybe a good strategy. My kiddo also found that an exaggerated "Ouch!" when he bites to express that you don't like it, may also queue the right mindset in him. :) Enjoy!
We surprisingly got a mini Aussie and, we think, Papillon mix. We had recently had to put our dog down and were still quite upset. Then my husband was coming home from town and saw a small dog in the woods not far from our home. He stopped and got out of the truck and she came right up to him, smiling all the way. He brought her home and we took her to the Humane Society to see if she was chipped or if anyone had reported her missing. She had no chip and no inquiries about her and was about 1 year old so they said she was ours if we wanted her. We drove around the neighborhood and no one was missing a dog like her. We named her Layla. She was very skinny and thirsty. She ran around us doing the but wiggle and smiling after we fed and watered her. Layla follows us around and when we leave she's so happy when we get home. I had never seen a Australian Shepherd before but fell in love with her. We have only had Layla for about 2 weeks and have been reading everything we can find on both breeds. The more I read, the more I thank God for giving us our little Layla.
We live on a lake in Minnesota and got a puppy in the end August. He liked the pontoon and kayak, but we didn't push swimming yet. He will be about 13 to 14 months after ice out. Just wondering if Aussis actually like the water. We have always had Springers, and they would spend all day in the water.
Love ours. Lucie is only 16 weeks but is learning. Very smart. Not looking forward to the shedding but we do brush daily or every other day to stay ahead. She gets the basic commands, sit, fetching, come. Working on stay and I want to train with the frisbee. You have a nice lookin dog. They seem like a very loyal and smart breed. We are happy
Aussies are special, they do follow you everywhere, including the bathroom for sure. They are super smart, and they learn instructions very easy. Super intelligent. He understands when I feel sad and even when my hubby and I are disagreeing on stuff. He picks up items for me, he plays dead, he gives me his paws, he rolls over, and he bark when I ask him to speak. He is a great companion. They might not be very snuggly but still show affection. I can keep talking about this breed. I will not have another dog like this Aussie for sure.
We've now had our mini Australian Shepherd for 2 years and we love her immensely. Layla is a blue merle with tan and white markings and weighs about 15 pounds she is approximately 12 inches at the shoulder. Her ears stand straight up most of the time and that's why we think she is an Aussie/Papillon mix and because she's so small. She does the wiggle butt dance whenever we come home and she smiles showing all her teeth. Layla follows my husband all over but sticks to me if he's not home.
Yep you nailed it, mine is 11 months old and he’s been a handful at times but man is it worth it, best dog I’ve ever owned hands down, almost to smart for his own good, super crazy, full of love always no matter what, and follows me when I take a shower or when I’m just using the toilet lol.
i sent an application to a local rescue! they have a litter of mini aussies ! hopefully i get approved, i already have 3 dogs but fell in love after seeing the little guy
We have had our girl for 4 days and what a personality!! Lol, she shakes her butt just like yours when she gets excited, she follows us all over as well. She is 8 wks old so any tips would be great!! Just ordered a few mins stimulating games for her to keep her super busy and mind stimulated :) she’s very very loved!!
My husband just shared me this video. So glad he did. We love our Aussie. He’s a little smart butt. Never regret him. He keeps our Belgian Malinois busy. 🐶👍🏼
I talk to a friend about getting one. I told him after I get thur covid to bring him over. He brought him over the next day. I think my mini aussie help us by keeping us moving plus he is a great dog so funny when he gets excited. I have never had to get after him very well manored dog and very smart
He's absolutely gorgeous! I'd get one in a heartbeat but, I'm in a condo & unfortunately there is restrictions. I had a Border Collie (Suzie) before & she did the same things as Blue. Enjoy your bundle of joy LOL!
Yeah totally understand the restrictions. We had to wait a year and move before we could get a pup. Blue loves playing with my cousins border collie, no off button! Ha
I have a miniature Australian Shepherd named Mika and she is about 1 year and 2 months. She is the sweetest, most genuinely loving dog. She provides hours of entertainment and is so intelligent. She knows her toys by name and can find them when we hide them. But when she is in her hyper phase, she ignores any commands lol. But such a great breed!
After 10 months with ROO, I wouldn’t pay a buck or take a million for her. She is the best decision we have made in this terrible time. She keeps us on our toes and smiling constantly. Great video thank you and good luck.
Awh Blue is awesome and handsome! I have a 1.5 year old mini red tri aussie that's probably 30lbs. All what Blue does my Beebe does too! Except not as good at catching frizbees, but sometimes she's retrieves balls when she wants too!
I’ve had 4 full size Aussies over the years. My 4 year old Mia is the best dog ever. She very smart and will catch a frisbee until she’s wore out. She very protective of her family which includes the neighbor’s kids and the grandchildren. It can take her half an hour to warm up to a new adult. Which isn’t always a bad thing since we live out in the country. Her intelligence and playfulness more than offset the shedding. We have two roomba’s that take care of most of the vacuuming. She likes being brushed so it really doesn’t take that much time. All in all the Aussie is a great dog!
We have a new mini about 1-year-old. He has no fear of anyone. We live in a rural area, and he is so excited to see anyone I want him to be more cautious of people. Do you have any suggestions?
we arr searching for a mini aussie. It's not that easy in Holland. I hope to find a puppy so I have the perfect bday present for my daughter 22nd of August.....Looking forward for long forest and beach walks, playing ang give a lot of love. regards from Holland
I have three puppies mini Aussies. I know, I'm insane. The amount of time, energy, and money to make home cooked meals for them 2/day is crazy but I love them. High energy from the moment they wake up. They wrestle with each other like they are training to be professionals. They play hard, swim in the pool (even in 34 degree weather) take a 3 mile walk daily and never give me a break as I work from home. The male long haired one doesn't shed at all, the medium haired sheds very little, but the toy mini sheds like there's no tomorrow. Ugh
I’ve always had big dogs and got a mini Aussie who’s 4 months now. What a great super smart breed, up for anything and a lot of fun. We buy dog puzzles for him and they get solved in no time.
My mini Aussie is a diva she loves to talk everytime I get home from anything she’s always howling like she’s trying to speak a sentence it’s the most adorable thing ever!
Thank you very much for posting this video. I would love to have your insight into this breed. I had the BEST dog ever in an mixed Aussie / Lab. He was with me 13 years and I lost him in December before Christmas. After 4 months of grieving, I will be brining home a mini Aussie next month on May 18th! I am so excited! Your Blue is gorgeous.
I really appreciate this vid, my family and I have been contemplating on getting one to add to the family, and especially for my 2 and a half old daughter whom is obsessed with dogs (kinda figured that this breed would be a great one for her to grow up with, could match her toddler energy, haha).
I had an Aussie when I was a kid, she was a black tri. Best dog ever! We bred her with a blue Merle and had a litter of 9 puppies when I was about 10. It was such an awesome experience! We ended up keeping a black tri from the litter. In total I’ve had 5 aussies, they are incredible dogs! I would never even consider getting a different bread. We currently have two mini Aussies. One is 12 pounds and one is 22 pounds. They are great! One a side note, some of them can be very high energy and some can be really laid back. I would recommend you consider that when picking your puppy if you decide to get one! I would highly recommend it!
@@brettsilva7317 My breeder said, that the way you treat them as a puppy makes a huge impact on their energy level later on. If you gave them some exercise but made them chill most of the day, then they are going to grow up to be more laid back. If, however, you challenge them and try to squeeze in as much daily playtime as possible, then they are going to be a lot more active when they grow up.
I have a three year old black tri mini that showed up running around outside my office someone had kicked out. She came to me 13 days before I lost my 14 year old cockapoo. She grieved with my family and has been the best fur baby I could have ever asked for. She's super smart and has a huge personality. She's crazy and runs longer than any other baby at the bark park and I wouldn't trade her for the world!
Already fall in love with Blue..we are thinking of getting one but afraid we can not keep up with his energy..we are 50s and 60s years old. Husband still working from home.I work outside home.
We just got our Mini Aussie pup 2 weeks ago and we love our so much! I'm so looking forward to being able to play fetch when she's just a wee bit older.
I have a mini ausi and he's 6 years old and it acts like and even makes the same sounds as that dog. LOL They get heartbroken when you leave them alone, they have bad separation anxiety. They want to be with the humans 100% of the time.
You totally describes my 11 year old Mini Aussie, Shiloh!! I’ve heard Aussies called “Velcro dogs” and it fits! They stay close by their human. Shiloh knows lots of words, too. Glad you pointed out the shedding! Don’t get one if you aren’t willing to brush the dog and vacuum the floor regularly. Also, you really must give them lots of attention, and challenging play times, or they will find ways you might not approve of to entertain themselves. 😏
@@tamaragaisford3297 my Shiloh is a girl. She’s 12 years old now, and also a tri. She is the smartest dog I’ve ever had. I read that Shiloh in Hebrew means “His gift”. God definitely sent Shiloh to me!
We also have a mini black tri that mirrors your aussie to the tee. Our vet actually got mad at us regarding feeling ours Blue Buffalo food. With all the hoopla about peas, legumes, potatoes, etc. we switched to Earthborne Holistics Unrefined and she actually loved it more than the Blue. Just wanted to throw that out there so you're on the lookout about possible future health problems!
Spot on with the "Never Alone" or should I say "Always Supervised". I live on 5 acres and I am not permitted to be un-supervised, EVER, my 13-year-old Aussie is ALWAYS watching over me. He is not permitted on the furniture so he waits till I go to bed and lays on the floor right next to my bed but later on during the night he gets up and gets comfortable in his bed just 2 feet away. Guess he wants to make sure I feel safe when I fall asleep.
I own a large toy Red Merle Australian shepherd, we named him David Bowie (two colored eyes) and he is 3 years old and weights only 22lbs. we absolutely adore him and he is a shadow to my husband and I. Make sure you training when he is young. Bowie gets anxious when I am not around so he has to take anxiety medication if I go on trips. We love love love this breed.
I prefer my full sized Aussie but, the small ones look very cute. My Aussie is very lazy but he still likes to play, he doesn’t get too sad when we leave but he is still very happy when we arrive and he shakes his butt like crazy. He loves to go outside an bark at anything that moves and he starts running like an Olympian. He also must be everywhere we are
my Mini Aussie, Finley, is very similar to yours. One thing I've never experienced with any other breed that I have owned, is if I sneeze, he jumpes up, runs over to me and barks. He's also very concerned if my older rat terrier coughs or barks to go out and in. He alerts me. rather like a nanny!
We adopted a mini Aussie from a dog rescue group in Arizona in 2010.. They listed her as 1 year old, but she could be 2 years. We adore her. She is quite the "Velcro dog" and never leaves my husband's or my side. She loves walks and treats, but has NO interest in toys. I ended up giving all of her dog toys to another rescue dog in our family who adores toys. Taylor is now 11 or 12 and still looks like a puppy because her hair has not gone gray. We love our girl! Fab dog breeds can be found in rescues. I love Aussies. Our last dog was a rescue Aussie named Sydney who sadly passed in early 2010.
I've had a lot of consideration of getting my 1 year mini a sibling. I take him for a walk to coffee in the morning, he goes to daycare MWF, and a dog walker takes him for 30 minutes T/Th. We try to walk him in the evening and he has a fenced backyard with a doggie door. Still, he cries at night and is destructive to socks, napkins or anything on tables, anything within reach during the day.
I love my 3 month old red mini Aussie, Misty. I've only had her for 3 weeks but she already fetches and brings the ball back. Walks really good on a leash too. I'm trying to get her interested in the frisbee but she's only interested in her squeaky ball right now. She loves other dogs and people too. Cats not so much, she barks at them. Going to start her with agility pretty soon.
Hey my name is Billy Welch. My wife and I have a mini aussie. He to has been a lot of fun. He is a very big baby loves a lot of attention. Oops I am 69 and I got it wrong. My wife said that r dog is a mini aussidoddle. Sorry about the mistake. God Bless
My Mini-Aussie wiggles his butt too! Sometimes I joke @his butt is about to fly across the room” also, my aussie’s name is ‘Aussie’ my dad came up with that one. My Aussie is my life!! Thanks for the video
I have a mini Aussie/ sheltie her name is Blu too! Blue merel as well haha. Our puppers are very similar mine does all the same as yours ! Love my mini ❤️
I have a six month old female blue merle mini who is great. Follows me everywhere, if you don't let her come to bathroom with you, she will scratch on the door till you open it.
I love mine we got 4 about to have 5 we breed them but we are not no breeding farm we do it bc we love them and love to see others have them we make sure they have great homes to also some of are dogs become service dogs for kids we just got them all matching pjs today
My aussie howls any time me or my wife leaves the house. He thinks that he has to be with us 24/7. As long as we are in the same place as he, he is fine. Charlie is now 16 months old. His favorite game is chase and catch me if you can. But he does like to restle and play tug of war. He's very shy with other people and other dogs. But he wants to play chase if you let him.
My Binky (Blue miniature Aussie) does everything like yours...she has to come in the bathroom with me every-time, she never leaves my side and loves to have someone throw a toy or ball so she can chase it. She doesn't bring it totally back to me, but close. She is a barker and loves to chase squirrels and rabbits. She has some strange habits like she starts to cry if I turn on the water or comb my hair. She goes CRAZY when I open up the oven. Have no idea why. Even with all her faults, she is my baby.
Aussies are very similar to Shetland Sheepdogs (Shelties) - I had one for 12 years - but too hard to do another because their appearance is so consistent and my dear Lucy had a perfect glistening white collar. So I’m going to get either a Toy or Mini Aussie. What is the weight and height of your Mini? Did you research your breeder? I’ve been researching for months and realized there are many and diverse - but all expensive $1,500 is the average.
I have 2 female Aussies from the same litter (so they're sisters). They are a little over a year and a half old and weigh 39 & 44 lbs. Don't get me wrong! They are great! They are smart! But before them I had two male shih tzus that were absolutely amazing! For those saying that Aussies are the best breed, that's like parents of an ugly child saying their kid is the best looking! lol. Give other breeds like the shih tzu a chance, too! :)
They're honestly the best breed, they define true love
So very true their love is unconditional i love my mini baby
I have an 8 year old deaf mini Aussie. He is the best dog ever. Follows my husband and I everywhere we go. Super silly, and just wants love and attention. We love him so much.

I wish I could have gotten away with only 20 mins of excersize even twice a day. You are lucky.

I have a 9 month old mini aussie named Jake he's amazing ♥️ glad to hear it's not just him that follows me everywhere
Yes they get very attached! It's been good though, he does pretty well staying with us when we go out off leash.

I have a mini red Merle named Bella sweetest girl ever she was so confused when she heard your dog cry lol
We have bought two for Christmas a blue merle and a black try they are currently 10 weeks old and have already brought so much love to our lives
My mini Aussie is the most lovable dog I've ever had. I am madly in love with her.
My boy Finn is 4 this year. Best dog I’ve ever had. He follows me everywhere I go. He’s my paddle board buddy and loves being on the water.

Yup can't go wrong! We've debated getting another one but I don't know if we could keep up with the hair!

I think my mini aussie help us by keeping us moving plus he is a great dog so funny when he gets excited. I have never had to get after him very well manored dog and very smart
My dog has a croissant type walk towards me when he’s excited, he bends sides ways and walks with a happy face towards me lol
That 100% normal assie it's a sideways walk ..so cute
Ours too, the macaroni dance, we call it!
Love our 20 month old TRI
💕🐾💕
Our dog's name is Chopper, so we call it his cheer: "give me a C for Chopper!"
My aussie follows me and my husband everywhere. She wiggles her butt just like Blue. They are the sweetest and just wants to please you. Great dogs!
I had three. And each one was different but unique. I am now a true Aussie lover and no other dog will do. I am looking to purchase another one soon.
Definitely never alone. Loved the bathroom picture. Takes me back to having toddlers
Omg, I have a mini she (bella) is 1 - 1/2 yrs everything you showed is exactly what mine does. I just love Aussies!!!
They are the best dogs!
Same
He's absolutely gorgeous!
Ha
I have 2, one 3 year old tri and one 1 year old blue merle. Love them to pieces.
Ours behaves exactly like Blue!
Love it!!!
We have two 1 year old wiggle butts and love them to the stars and beyond. They are my constant companions and I rarely go anywhere without them.
We love our good boy! He has definitely been the best decision we have made in the last year 💕🐶😍
I have three puppies mini Aussies.
Yup, great breed! We can't wait to get another once we get a house!
I have 3 mini aussies. And they follow us everywhere. And hate it when we’re not home.
How is the shedding having 3?! We're considering getting another one but there is so much hair!
Schuyler welch
My bad I meant 2
Schuyler welch
They also are only 20 weeks so not too sure on the shedding. :/
@@willterrell852 Oh boy get ready for hair!
I have two toy Aussies. Yes they shed a whole lot but I love love my little girls.
I just got a Aussie puppy and he follows me every where
I have a three year old black tri mini that showed up running around outside my office someone had kicked out. She came to me 13 days before I lost my 14 year old cockapoo. She grieved with my family and has been the best fur baby I could have ever asked for. She's super smart and has a huge personality. She's crazy and runs longer than any other baby at the bark park and I wouldn't trade her for the world!
That was God's doing...
Brilliant video and Blue is amazing, I’m looking at getting an Aussie mini, it’ll be my family’s first dog, really excited, cheers
My boy's name is Shiloh also. He's a three year old tri.
@@tamaragaisford3297 my Shiloh is a girl. She’s 12 years old now, and also a tri. She is the smartest dog I’ve ever had. I read that Shiloh in Hebrew means “His gift”. God definitely sent Shiloh to me!
I love Aussies they are great
We also have a mini black tri that mirrors your aussie to the tee.
I love my aussies...got a new litter born on 12/28...the little guys are really active for only 4wks old. Lol
Awesome! Getting a mini this weekend! So excited!! 💜
Great choice! Say goodbye to your personal space! :p
getting my aussie this weekend! so excited i woke up 5 times today dreaming about him
We have a almost 5 month old and adore Jack, he keeps his 2 year old brother on his toes. 6:00 PM
I have a half mini/half standard at 3 months and he does all of these! 😂 spot on.
I hv the same. Half & half. How much does yours weigh. Mine is 5 1/2 mth and weighs about 35 lbs. Not sure what to expect!
Great video. We mini ausie in Georgia. We have a female called Harmony. Great idea. We will to teach her to catch a frisbee.
We have a 4 year old "Rusty" - love him to pieces
Our red tri mini Aussie Bella left us at the age of 13. She was the best dog we ever had.
He also must be everywhere we are
My aussie is exactly tge same way and we just love her ❤️ 💕
my Mini Aussie, Finley, is very similar to yours.
God Bless
This is exactly like our mini Aussie. Can’t imagine life without her…
He's shepherding. You're his J.O.B. : )
I love our mini aussie,Benny is exactly like blue,we love him so much , we got another
I love aussies so much they are my dream dog.. they’re so smart and loving and FLOOFY 😝
My Mini-Aussie wiggles his butt too! Sometimes I joke @his butt is about to fly across the room” also, my aussie’s name is ‘Aussie’ my dad came up with that one. My Aussie is my life!! Thanks for the video
They are such great companions!
It's funny how similar Aussies act!
Lyle Lane my mini Aussie puppy will do the same
My mini Aussie puppy tries her best to go into the bathroom, but I try to stop her 😂
My puppy tried to come with me on the bus😂
It’s a common trait with most of the dog breeds specially when you hv one dog
I love mine we got 4 about to have 5 we breed them but we are not no breeding farm we do it bc we love them and love to see others have them we make sure they have great homes to also some of are dogs become service dogs for kids we just got them all matching pjs today
Pick up one tomorrow. 8wk old. Will have to learn as we go. Gf is a real animal lover. Cat lives here for 7 yrs. Will child proof as we go.
I really want a mini Aussie
Yep. Sounds about right. I got a 4 year old black tri. Best damn dog I’ve owned.
I HAVE A 1 YEAR OLD MINI THAT LOOKS JUST LIKE BLUE, HIS NAME IS BENJI..THEY ARE A SPECIAL FRIEND..I LOVE HIM.
That's funny! Blue will cry if I run around the house if he can't catch me, then starts nipping at my legs lol
I also have an Aussie and his name is blue. He does many similar things that your Aussie does. Including wiggle butt.
A bright puppy. So active like my Toby.
We get our Mini Aussie this week, I am so excited
how is it?? :)
Christine Goetz where is a good place to get a toy Aussie? We’ve been looking for a breeder...
Wiggle butts are the best... Frankie to the Moon is a blue merle also...Tug tug is the favorite indoor activity...
I’ve had other breeds too and loved them all. Once you get to know a dog, the breed doesn’t matter any more.
