''Moon Safari'' is one of my most loved fav Albums ever have never stopped listening to it. Kelly watch the stars is a song I want at my funeral to be played. My name is Kelli. All the songs are beautiful.
90's Chillout is a great genre, from Air through Zero 7, Morcheeba, Nightmares on Wax and Lemon Jelly, through to the Bristol sound of Massive Attack and Portishead
These guys are awesome! Their soundtrack to The Virgin Suicides and Pocket Symphony are also musts. Highly recommend Stereolab, Everything But the Girl, Royksopp, Zero 7, Massive Attack, Tricky, Portishead, Bjork and 90's era Gus Gus for similar downtempo, trip hop and electronica artists. For a change of pace, I HIGHLY recommend Underworld, Aphex Twin, Prodigy and (one of my personal favorites) Boards of Canada. Love that you both branch out and explore these great genres! Patreon sub incoming so I can hopefully get some of the above into rotation. Much love from a fellow CO peep and great reaction!
Air's albums Moon Safari and 10,000 Hz Legend are superb. Listen to 'All I Need' from Moon Safari. Then check out bands like Zero 7, Morcheeba, Koop, Bonobo.
Thanks for reacting to such a unique song! It’s really great, and is such a vibe! You definitely could see a bunch of guys trying to pull off a caper to this in a movie.
A lot of props for the first two albums, but Walkie Talkie has some great tune too, Universal Traveler, Cherry Blossom Girl, Surfing on a Rocket. Seriously, an underrated album. Also, Nicolas Godin put out some solo stuff, if you like Air, check it out!
Air - awesome request! Listen to their album '10.000 Hz Legend'. It's not very apt for a reaction due to its mellow and cinematic nature, but great to listen to in private. The band Stereolab could be just around the corner 🤩 Air did a soundtrack in fact: 'The Virgin Suicides', and also one of their tracks is featured in the film 'Lost in Translation'.
Morcheeba were inspired by AIR. The french electronic scene in the early to late-90s gave us artist's like AIR, M83, Modjo, Stardust, Telepopmusik and Daft Punk!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FRANCE!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
If you enjoy downtempo electronic music with a Pink Floyd influence, Air is a great band to get into. This is one of my favorite songs of theirs. Now that I know that you two enjoy this, I'll BMC request some more Air in the future 😊 Air's music has been described as "elevator music from outer space," or "Burt Bacharach on acid." And if you'll remember, I requested a similar song from Zero 7 about a year ago. Air and Zero 7 are very similar. If you like one, you'll probably love the other.
you guys clearly appreciate great music production. i am just echoing some of the comments below but you really must check out zero 7, but more specifically the tracks named red dust and destiny. You may have already been lucky enough to discover these but if not I like to spread the love.
If you love this song anyone will also love "Summer Madness" by the 1970s group "Kool and the Gang".....love acid jazz like "Exodus Quartet" also with their "Groove Gumbo" cut.
It starts a bit like "Sympathy for the Devil" from the Rolling Stones. They are part of that "French Touch" group coming from Vincennes (a fancy Parisian suburb) with Daft Punk and Cassius. I love all their albums but my favorite song from them is "Cherry Blossom Girl".
Always considered Air to be on the gentler , more ambient side of progressive music. And I don't mean that in anyway to its detriment. 10,000 hertz legend IS such a great album as well. Remember buying that one on the same day as The Mars Volta - Deloused in the comatorium. How about that for two extreme opposites. Lots of love to you NicknLex 😍
My wife and I went to Paris for the first time not long after I heard this. This is the soundtrack of us on that trip walking through Paris at night in the rain. This track is fire.
Moon Safari is one of my albums that I think plays best in it's entirety rather than individual tracks out of sequence. I'm guessing that if you had previously heard a track from this album it was probably "All I Need", which has lyrics/vocals. I think the reason this track has so many plays is that it is the first track of the album and people who have had this album suggested to them listened to the first track, and them maybe didn't care for it and didn't bother with the rest of the album. Too bad, because there are tracks on here that are very different.
The whole album is a pure masterpiece. Even more amazing that this was the debut ablum of two teachers coming together to make some superb music. two artists that, to me, fall in the same corner as Air are Gare du Nord (check out "Pablo's blues" from their debut album In search of excellounge) and Nicola Conta (check out "Jet sounds" from also his debut album Bossa per due). The style of Nicola Conte is a mixture between acid jazz, bossa nova and clubjazz wheras the song Pablo's blues is more a mixture of the classic blues styles, but with a very modern twist.
Love this tune and Zero 7 so much (I noticed you did a reaction to them earlier). I love chillout music as a way to deal with anxiety and generally get me through my work day.
This band (duo) sounds VERY much like the Grammy award winning Deodato. His 1974 "Also Sprach Zarathustra" was featured in the movie Being There, starring Peter Sellers. It's a must listen.
Oh wow. I forgot all about this band I remember always playing "Kelly Watch The Stars" in my car over and over again. If I remember right I think they collaborated with French actress Charlotte Gainsbourg on her album.
Great request! I mainly know these guys from the work on the Virgin Suicides soundtrack! Really cool soundtrack. You guys should check it out! Ben thanks for this! Nick and Lex thanks for this video. I look forward to watching you channel daily! Love you guys! Have a great week!

Hi guys, I heard a single they released called "Sexy Boy" and it was in the singles charts so got a lot of radio play. Unusually because vinyl singles had been fazed out, the track was on a cd single which I bought. It has the radio edit + 2 other remixes & a bonus track called "Jeanne" which features the French singer Francoise Hardy. A big surprise for me as I have loved Francoise Hardy's music since I was a kid, and have some excellent albums by her now...She released a very well know single in the 60's in French & English called "All Over The World" and it's so beautiful. I have both versions. I adore her voice....sorry I kinda left the subject of "Air" ..Yea later I got the albums, but that single "Sexy Boy" is really good. Lol Great track and reaction. The comments below have mentioned other similar artists well worth checking out....especially Zero 7 & Massive Attack. Byeee X
Gracias totales………
Brilliant tune; it might get on my desert island. If you want a visual it's a building being assembled with groove, from foundations, to walls, to roof - when the electric powered helicopters go up from the top is when I soar too. 53M people might agree.
Love the reaction as always! Check out these songs by Olive at the very least for personal enjoyment. Best song in my humble opinion is Miracle. Such a moody headphone aural treat... After that enjoy their songs Safer Hands, You're not Alone, and This Time

#nicknlexrequest Could you have a listen to one of my favorite bands: Hybrid and especially their 2010 song "Break My Soul". Hybrid are a husband and wife band (Mike and Charlotte Truman) from Wales who are currently working on their 7th album (though Charlotte didn't join the band until just before their fourth album (Mike was teamed up with Chris Healings before that, but Chris left the band in 2015). Their music has been described as symphonic electronica, but that doesn't do their repertoire justice: Hybrid are Hybrid. Their music has been used in movies, video games and TV extensively (Top Gear in the Clarkson/Hammond/May years would use Hybrid tracks quite commonly), but they have been largely unknown to a wider audience. Bonobo is an absolute gem. Unbelievably talented artist.
Yeah man good stuff, there's actually an extended version of all I need out there on TH-cam combining two different versions... really nice
This is like a list of my favorite bands
Please check out "Premiers Symptomes" from AIR as well. Fantastic! Your can hear the foundations they later used in Moon Safari.
