Sagebrush is like 1500ft down the road heading towards Tenn from where Ryans was. Ryans was close to the hotel and straight across from Walmart coyote.
Used to be Prime Sirloin with a butcher in the back. Its now Bubbys BBQ the owner in Corbin opened one up in Middlesboro. This place closed cause the pandemic than tried open up but couldnt keep staff and the main manager did of covid so. It closed.

I live in Middlesboro, and what supposedly had happened was the owner had passed away, but refused to give any of the workers keys, so nobody could get in. The building has now been bought by a bar-b-que place called bubby’s bbq.
If I remember correctly employees showed up to the closed sign and some didn't get paid. I believe they did eventually but had to fight for it. That was a messed up situation
My wife and I were talking not long ago about how big middlesbrough seemed when we were kids, the mall was new and very busy back then coming from Harlan it seemed like New York City LOL!
@@IgnitedCoyote That's very true. I thought the same thing. There were more restaurants in Middlesboro back then. It was a treat to go there. Loved it. When they opened the movie theater in the mall we were thrilled. Fun times
The Sagebrush was several months behind on their rent for the building and their utilities. It also hasn't been closed for 2 years, it's more like a little over a year since it closed. When it was good the food was great but when things started going bad, they went bad quickly. If memory serves there has been 4 different restaurants in there since the 80's. Rally's is gone now too. 😕
Remember when this used to be J Miltons steakhouse and it closed down when Cracker Barrel opened I guess because it didn't think it could compete with it. It had the best food, and the best salad bar and buffet and I never went there when it wasn't busy. I think it could have survived Cracker Barrel being ran like it used to be. I guess after so long this Sagebrush opened in it's place and must have either waited too long after Milton's shut down or just didn't quite have it like Milton's did. Either way I miss J Miltons and the food there.

Such a shame one of the only steak places that isnt a drive into knoxville! Use to get the 2 for 20! My GF would get the chicken tenders and I would get the steak and we would share the fries!

No the building where Sage Brush is still standing but has been vacant for several years now. Ryan's restaurant building has been tear down for 8 years now I believe. I used to lived in Middlesboro Kentucky 6 years ago,I lived there for over 17 years before I moved to Tennessee.
I watched this with my parents. We couldn’t believe how they left everything just sitting out. Just like they are ready to open. That building is one of those that’s been several different restaurants over the years but none seem to ever make it for long.
The man that owns this restaurant also owns the Lees food Mart right next door. As far as 2 yrs no that's false . Maybe a yr or a little over a yrs. And the info you're getting from the rally next door is probably the worst place to get the info from. Js. Yes they are located right next door but they don't know the head from a hole in the ground.

man this restaurant was amazing, my mamaw took us there and it was great. but people didn’t like the food there. i loved it, but i remember the workers getting yelled at for the food tasting bad. i guess the food wasn’t good enough for sufficient buissness and it got shut down.

No, this building used to be J. Milton's. Ryan's was up the road a little bit. That building is gone. There's some new construction there now.
