Just when you think you’ve seen it all on TH-cam. You find some Gold!
rip jimmy
Piano solo was godly
his comping is beautiful as well.
It’s so cool that Jimmy Heath is still playing. He’s in his 90s!
RIP Jimmy Heath :(
Jean-Paul Nguyen HE DIED?
@@cole_bh0373 recently yes
Jimmy's solo is so laid back and intentional. The little pause before each phrase shows how wise and thought out all of his lines are. Incredible.
I love great sax with music in the. Background
The latin jazz break right at the end is insane as well! What a great arrangement
ALL-STAR RHYTHM SECTION
I believe it’s time to transcribe some Pat, Brad, and Mike. Holy Moley!!!!
Like that fly me to the moon lick
Very cool trumpet solo!
Brad on the bridge 🔥
AMAZIIIINNGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!
Mr Heath played more inspired that all others.
カッコいい、渋い、テナーサックスサックス🎷最高です。👏
What a killer lineup! Thank you for posting! So swingin
OH MY ....That Piano!!!
Lol yep.... I've had a few pat coil recordings downloaded for a while cut I couldn't remember who he was; North Texas piano instructor certainly fits the playing level
Nice fly me to the moon quote at 4:30
Surrey with the fringe on top at 8:20
Yea man
Thank you for this, is there any more from the show ?
Wow, what a cool setting for that jazz performance! The tune was great, the rhythm section was on point, and it was awesome to finally see the players in action. But, I gotta be honest, there's one thing that didn't quite hit the right note with me. That trumpet player, although a local instructor at the prestigious University of North Texas, was about as inspiring as a soggy piece of toast. He's so cliché-focused that I'm surprised he didn't start playing "Hot Cross Buns" in the middle of the set. I mean, I knew this guy back in the day and his jazz skills were & are mediocre at best. It's a shame he's featured so often, but hey, maybe he just needs to spice things up a bit - or maybe we should just stick to the other guys!

It looks like tenor is Mark VI. Can’t make the alto, though. Anybody out there know the set-ups and particulars on the horns?
Slinging some riffs, that’s for sure.
It looks like the silver Alto is a KeilWerth. I see *LW*T* around 2:46. This is supported by a current UNT.edu bio listing an endorsement for Keilwerth.
r07633 why you writing this in short answer question format
Beautiful voicings at 6:11, anyone know what they are?
Cmaj7 over the single note D...... this is in essence a D7sus4 (with 9,11, 13)
