I've been wanting this for years. There's so many possibilities with it from freighters to subs to cruise ships. People argue it would be "boring", but it's the same concept as flight sim just in the water.
I’ve always wondered why there was no true comprehensive ship simulator. I’ve seen TH-camrs create simulations of marine accidents but it seems like they develop or model the simulation themselves.
I am from Norway. That currency is NOK, Norwegian Kroners. The map is just taken from google maps around Røst it seems. All perfect really. It is situated in the outermost part of Lofoten islands in northern Norway! At 0:42 you can even see the Skomvær lighthouse in the lower left part of the map. That is the outmost outpost in the Lofoten islands! Even the fuel prices seem realistic!
I grew up swimming and fishing in the Norwegian sea and it's amazing, this game also looks a lot like what you'd see out on the coastal areas in Norway.
I saw a storm on another video and let me tell you it was absolutely stunning, just really impressive. The white caps and water effects were incredible. Yeah, this sim is off to an excellent start there's so much they can do with expanding on this one. I am a big fan of Fishing North Atlantic so i'll be getting it really soon.
Little advice for getting underway from a dock or slip, if the game permits it without massive amounts of damage. But if you make a hard rudder towards the dock then slowly give power, it will kick your stern away from the dock then you can reverse and straighten it back out before making headway. Then you will have more maneuverability to turn away and have a smooth exit.
Ooo some good additions to this game that would be cool. A in boat radio with proximity sound. Being able to draw out a route on the map and it would go on GPS as well. Sleep options and jobs at every dock.
This looks like it has a lot of potential. Would be cool if you could use a racing wheel and the honeycomb bravo or another flight sim throttle. I wishlisted it on steam
this is in Norway yes, This is up in Nothern Norway, Kveldsbeita is a bit out from Bodø, south of Reine, As you can probably tell i am an Norwegian myself 🤣 also fyi 5:41 thats Norwegian krone, not USD. There is 10.58 NOK per USD, so what you have there is 51,073 NOK or 4,827 USD 22:58 this must be early spring time / winter time since its getting dark so early, since in the summer it stays bright up here pretty much 24h
i love that this game is based in Norway, such a beautiful place, and the only place i know to get all four season in one day. the currency there is Krones incase you were wondering. nice to see that translated into the game
Let’s goo thank you for checking out the game Jeff much love and appreciate I was happy when you saw my tweet about it can’t wait for full release hope you and cosmoballs have a good day
One of the reasons developers put games in early access is precisely to find bugs. That's why it's called early access. When thousands start playing the game, bugs enter the assembly line. Great content from you Jeff as always. I'm going to buy this game.
You know I've seen lots of negative reviews on this but as someone who perfers cargo over fishing anyways I think I might pick-up a copy on your review alone. Thanks for sharing!
I'm guessing the high level of reward is to offset the cost of continually repairing the boat. Just don't get so close to the quay, you only have to be in the dotted area to dock.
Only 8min into the video, and I've just added it to my Wishlist. Genna wait one year at a minimum before buying it to let the game dev squish bugs and add more features. This is a beautiful looking game, and has so much potential.
Well game, you had me at picking up physical packages, carrying them to destination and then delivering them. So much better than having something on a list you just click on . Or maybe that's just me😅
This was pretty awesome I enjoyed this alot and this game looks like tons of fun would definitely love to see u continue this and the graphics and everything in the game are amazing. And man at the wake from the lil row boat too was insane lol anyway keep up the great work much love to ya Jeff have a good one take care god bless and I will see ya on the next one
wow this is a visually stunning game. Might have to look at this closely, As in IRL boatie and fisherman. I've always been keen on Ship/boat sims but have never really found one that piqued my interest. However this one looks very promising, the water effects are really good too.
That's so funny! I played the crap out of Fishing North Atlantic and had this on my Wishlist, so I picked it up. Working pretty nice for EA. Had a few graphical issues off the bat, but didn't take long to fix. Sad part is I didn't realize (for the first job until the one where you fix the buoy) that you could hold shift to row faster! Only thing I would like them to tweak (at least for using Mouse/Keyboard) is that it feels like if you're using WASD it doesn't recognize your next input until you release the prior. Have you noticed that? Hey at least it doesn't take long to purchase your first boat! See ya in Outbrk! What are your thoughts on the upcoming Highway Patrol Sim?
Hey Stig! I did notice the controls doing that hence why sometimes you aren’t turning when you think you are. Highway patrol DLC seems meh but who knows.
Hey Jeff. Hope you doing well. Sorry, off topic for this video but I know you do ATS too. Do you know how to put chains on the trucks? Where can I find the mod?
This doesn't look that bad, but I'm old enough to remember Ilan Papini's Vehicle Simulator so compared to that, Ships at Sea looks super, super decent. I swear there was a VR ship sim wasn't there or is it this one I'm thinking of? There's a few, well, floating around so I can never seem to remember which is whichf
Just an fyi if you're still not using it. Autopilot is working to some degree. just have to watch it as it likes to veer from the plotted course from time to time.
You can interact with the throttle levers directly by looking at them and holding 'E' and dragging the mouse. Press 'L' to bring up the boat's lighting controls (includes spotlight controls). Clicking the key will turn the boat on and off. I wish the horn sounded for the duration you actually hold the button. Imagine communicating via honking Morse code. I keep experiencing a bug that crashes the game. I think it's a memory leak or similar based on the Unreal crash report thingy. I might have to start a new game because I just completed a mission and as I return to base, when I get to a specific area, game crash. You can accept and run multiple missions. The most I've done in a single go was 3 and the most profitable combo so far was 2, which gave me over 120k in profits. The economy in this game is broken. Start a new game and skip the tutorial and start with 50k. It wouldn't let me use the...storage(?) to buy a new boat until I reached level 1. I had 90k at that point. The least-paying missions give 20k.
Can you take multiple jobs at once? So you could deliver to Karoya and then onto Stoya? It would make the 7mph concept a little more easy to reconcile. I imagine you'd appreciate that new motor by doing it the way you ended up having to .
dang that guy can row like a BEAST! other nearby vessels need to watch out for the wake 🤣🤣
That's what I was thinking. 😂😂
Came here to say that 😂
He might turn em over 😂😂
I feel like I could ski behind that
fr this guy is hauling ASS!
The wake from that little row boat 😂😂😂
Must have some really strong arms 😂
When a row boat identifies as a motor boat
I have wanted a Ship Sim since Ship Sim Extremes. A true open world Sim like Flight Sim would be awesome
I've been wanting this for years. There's so many possibilities with it from freighters to subs to cruise ships. People argue it would be "boring", but it's the same concept as flight sim just in the water.
Same here
I’ve always wondered why there was no true comprehensive ship simulator. I’ve seen TH-camrs create simulations of marine accidents but it seems like they develop or model the simulation themselves.
@@yotakev99exactly , I think Misc games is a real good contender for simulators like that , I just hope it gets supported longer than the previous one
Sailaway was my alternative to Ship sim x, yes i know it's sailboats, but still, it have the whole worldmap and is an ok pvp/single player simulator.
You are in lofoten, Norway, currency is NOK (Kroner), Røst occaen have on of the world strongerst occean currents
I am from Norway. That currency is NOK, Norwegian Kroners. The map is just taken from google maps around Røst it seems. All perfect really. I got tell ya that is one hell of wake behind that little rowboat looks like fun little game thou.

I was thinking the same thing. Clearly he has very little experience handling boats.
Everytime Jeff does his "Hello Everybody" intro I'm always expecting him to say "welcome to LSPDFR" those were some good days.
Ooo some good additions to this game that would be cool. A in boat radio with proximity sound. Being able to draw out a route on the map and it would go on GPS as well. Sleep options and jobs at every dock.
I remember when water in computer games looked like ~~~~~~ or /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/ if it was rough 😂
😂Me too
The first game whose water really impressed me was Just Cause 2, with the nVidia-only GPU water feature
I never knew about this. I love different simulators. I play ats a lot but this is really cool! Added to my wish list.
The wake coming off that row boat 🤣
That row boat leaves a wake like a 25 footer
Really excited for the development of this game! Loads of potential!!
This looks like it has a lot of potential. Would be cool if you could use a racing wheel and the honeycomb bravo or another flight sim throttle.
I wishlisted it on steam

This game has the potential to be fantastic! Great foundations and looking forward to see where this is in a years time
not me watching while i sail to a fishing habitat....
I didn't realize that was you behind me in Mountain View, Missouri, when the tornado was ongoing. Good to briefly meet you!
wish you did more videos on this game.
Buddy is rowing as hard as a dual engine 30 footer. He must hit the gym 10 hours a day.
The water physics around the boat are good but the water itself.. holyyyy. Looks real.
I love the enormous wake for the rowboat.. that is some hulk shit right there.
I really love the water physics so far. Huge improvement from previous games.
love these vids cant wait to play myself
i love that this game is based in Norway, such a beautiful place, and the only place i know to get all four season in one day. the currency there is Krones incase you were wondering. nice to see that translated into the game
A little goofy on the Row-Me-O but that wake mechanic is BEAUTIFUL for a motorboat, its about time someone made good water physics for a boat game
That's some good friction to keep the stuff on the dashboard (coffee cups, pack of coffee) from falling off without placeholders.
Hello jeff. Huge fan. ❤ Have you seen the hori truck wheel. Its force feedback and it looks good so far but i love your content. Have a great day 👍
Im from Norway and i can confirm that this is an actual fishing place in the north of my country. Looks realy true to life
9:18 “from Røst to…..that”
😂😂
Let’s goo thank you for checking out the game Jeff much love and appreciate I was happy when you saw my tweet about it can’t wait for full release hope you and cosmoballs have a good day
2:00 what the heck kind of fishing rod is that?
Wow! It's like Storm Works, but in unreal engine! Always love watching your videos Jeff. Thank you. :)
Been watching since 2014 love it man
This is Lofoden norway, those islands in the far north of the country
Damn, this takes place in Norway?
The CSS Gaping Aft Hole
ALways love watching all your content.
dude at the start of the video was nick named THE WAKE in high school 😂😂😂😂
You can do multiple delivery missions without needing to go back home each time. e.g. stack deliveries.
That wake is so ridiculous
This looks great!
One of the reasons developers put games in early access is precisely to find bugs. That's why it's called early access. When thousands start playing the game, bugs enter the assembly line. Great content from you Jeff as always. I'm going to buy this game.
that place reminds me of the Shetland isles cross with Northern Norway, its beautiful :D
You know I've seen lots of negative reviews on this but as someone who perfers cargo over fishing anyways I think I might pick-up a copy on your review alone. Thanks for sharing!
I'm guessing the high level of reward is to offset the cost of continually repairing the boat. Just don't get so close to the quay, you only have to be in the dotted area to dock.
the water physics look great. Te most unrealistic thing is shit not flying everywhere with those waves!
Hello Jeff in the storm chasers timelapse video the first song what is the name? First coment
Really nice first look. Thank you.
I bought north Atlantic 5 minutes after u previewed and now i want this game... love the first look series
Yes Jeff it is Norway. South from the Lofoten islands. :) it is basically "so north" as the most northern parts of Iceland.
Never been sea sick but damn these waves kind of made me light headed.
Only 8min into the video, and I've just added it to my Wishlist. Genna wait one year at a minimum before buying it to let the game dev squish bugs and add more features.
This is a beautiful looking game, and has so much potential.
this looks like its full of potential.
GRAPHICS LOOK AMAZING!
How is the row boat faster than the actual boat? 🤨
I like Jeff’s content, I have been watching him since the GTA4 days. He is a great creator!
This was great on the livestream last night. I can't wait for this game to be fully released so you can play it more
VR would be awesome for this
2 min in and then 🤮🤮🤣🤣
This was neat! It made me want to pull out my copy of Chapman's.
This is practically right outside my home. 😁
can i use my sim racing wheel ?? lol this game looks sick
I've never heard of this game before, but it looks great!
Well game, you had me at picking up physical packages, carrying them to destination and then delivering them. So much better than having something on a list you just click on . Or maybe that's just me😅

Woah, slow your rowing you’re in a no wake zone.
Jeff should be on the world Rowing Championship Competition team up here in BC with UBC 😅Univercity of BC😮
Can you use a controller?
Yeah it just isn’t completely compatible
Lol. That's too fast for a paddle boat
Seeing this game gets me excited for GTA 6 and the tech that's going into to make the water like this gane
Cool man. Does this game support a racing wheel or is it all keyboard and mouse?
That's so funny! I played the crap out of Fishing North Atlantic and had this on my Wishlist, so I picked it up. Working pretty nice for EA. Is this co-op or multiplayer ?
hey jeff, what do you think about the new Moza TSW? (the truck sim wheel)
Hey Jeff. Hope you doing well. Sorry, off topic for this video but I know you do ATS too. Do you know how to put chains on the trucks? Where can I find the mod?
It looks so good
This doesn't look that bad, but I'm old enough to remember Ilan Papini's Vehicle Simulator so compared to that, Ships at Sea looks super, super decent. I swear there was a VR ship sim wasn't there or is it this one I'm thinking of? There's a few, well, floating around so I can never seem to remember which is whichf
Dang, Little Romeo ain’t so little with that huge wake🤯🤣
Use your ats platform seat
We need a graphically impressive ship sim, with a world map.
Can you you do multiple missions at once
Yes
Can you do multiple missions/deliveries at the same time? TO the same point or deliver one box to place A 2 two B 2 to C etc? Thanks.
Yes you can
This sunk quicker than the Titanic
Looks pretty cool! Does it have steering wheel support as well?
im totally getting this game. Thanks Jeff for showcasing this game!!!!
I would love to see more of this game
The game looks beautiful and really fun, can’t wait to watch more!!
Just an fyi if you're still not using it. Autopilot is working to some degree. just have to watch it as it likes to veer from the plotted course from time to time.
Not when this video was made
14:29 your voice turns into a demon when you say "good amount of money"
You can interact with the throttle levers directly by looking at them and holding 'E' and dragging the mouse. Press 'L' to bring up the boat's lighting controls (includes spotlight controls). .
Yes you can
Do any of the boats have a GPS unit installed?
The game looks fun! Like the physics. Would be awesome to see container ships lol
I can't wait I went to play North Atlantic but when I found fish and did the bait I would get zero fish I think it's bugged
