    _____________________________________
Pink Floyd are an English rock band formed in London in 1965. Gaining an early following as one of the first British psychedelic groups, they were distinguished by their extended compositions, sonic experiments, philosophical lyrics and elaborate live shows. They became a leading band of the progressive rock genre, cited by some as the greatest progressive rock band of all time.
Pink Floyd were founded in 1965 by Syd Barrett (guitar, lead vocals), Nick Mason (drums), Roger Waters (bass guitar, vocals) and Richard Wright (keyboards, vocals). Under Barrett's leadership, they released two hit singles, "Arnold Layne" and "See Emily Play", and the successful debut album The Piper at the Gates of Dawn (1967). The guitarist and vocalist David Gilmour joined in December 1967; Barrett left in April 1968 due to deteriorating mental health. Waters became the primary lyricist and thematic leader, devising the concepts behind Pink Floyd's most successful albums, The Dark Side of the Moon (1973), Wish You Were Here (1975), Animals (1977) and The Wall (1979). The musical film based on The Wall, Pink Floyd - The Wall (1982), won two BAFTA Awards. Pink Floyd also composed several film scores.

Make sure you do the audio version first before the Pompeii version. The audio version gives you the FULL picture of what the band intended, with complete sonic overload throughout the song. It is 23:32 of music out of this world!

I’m 70 and have been lucky to have seen Pink Floyd 2 times, the last time was for the “Dark Side Of The Moon”tour. What he’s missing is the amazing Pink Floyd light show that is a big part of their performance. These were good times musically. Mid 70’s was a great time to be young and have this music to listen to.

At 78. Pink floyd has been part of my life for over 50 years. Love them as much now as i did early on. Lucky enough to have seen them live in the late 80s. Nice to see videos of younger people discovering the experience. Real music. No one plays instruments anymore.

Indeed, brother... There is NO WAY anything like this could possibly be produced today... And why? Because the younger generations are SO IMPATIENT and want it all right now. I watch younger reactora who have trouble sitting still and just listening to PF, it's like they've got ants in their pants... But, at 65 myself, you and I KNOW the value of this iconic band, something that most of the younger generation can neither understand not have any interest in... It doesn't appeal to the hedonistic, "Gotta have it all right now" mentality. Truly sad what's happened to the music industry since the 1970s....

Pink Floyd is deeper than the Mariana trench, higher than any satellites orbiting earth, cooler than an iceberg in a river of liquid nitrogen, hotter than a solar flare of lava spouted from the sun, smoother than a quantum stabilized atom mirror, more Zen than 10,000 Buddhist monasteries, larger than what we know as our universe. Their music is an enigma that is beyond what we are capable of comprehending. There music is timeless.

All the way, with the volume on top on the car stereo i played this. It give me so much strength from somewhere. Only a Pink Floyd song can do that in a moment like that.

Even though we can never hear it again for the first time, watching you listening for the very first time is nearly as good. As you get deeper into PF, you'll need to watch more P.U.L.S.E. live performances of these tracks - fasten your seatbelt for them to avoid injury. Enjoy.

I had the same experience in Mpls., MN the night before the concert. We were all sitting in our reclining chairs looking up at the ceiling, watching, wondering how it was done with the lasers. I remember the song Money was playing and when the sax solo came in suddenly a spotlight came on and there was Dick Perry right in front of us actually playing the solo. What do you do??? Do you watch the lasers or do you watch Dick Perry??? What a wonderful problem to have!! We were waiting for him when the sax came in on Us and Them. He got a standing ovation from us and you could tell he wasn't expecting one. I'll never forget his smile. BTW: I was in the second row (he was right in front of me just off to the right) and I could actually "feel" the sonic waves from the sax. It was almost better than the concert the next night....almost. It was the Delicate Sound of Thunder tour. It was in the HHH Metrodome and I was seated in the second deck. Not the best seats. When the PULSE/Division Bell tour came I was ground level row 28. Much better.

Now, do yourself a favor and watch this performance from The Pulse Concert. I sat front row center with a dozen friends in the New Orleans Superdome, in 94’ watching Floyd’s original saxophonist from Dark Side and the Wish albums, Dave Parry, perform that final solo with two saxophones slung over his shoulder. Started with the Baritone Sax, then throwing it over his shoulder in the middle of his solo to grab the Tenor Sax at the change in time signature through that remarkable fade-out. A brilliant performance. Btw, David Gilmour has said that his performance of “Comfortably Numb” that night was the best live performance of his career. It certainly was my favorite.

S)nine on (Y)ou Crazy (D)iamond is Floyd's tribute to founding member, lead guitarist, main vocalist and songwriter Syd Barrett. In 1968, after achieving great success in the psychedelic/pop genre, Syd suffered a complete psychological breakdown (due to a combination of undiagnosed schizophrenia, way too much LSD, and intense pressure from the record company) and had to leave the band. That's when David Gilmour (who was a childhood chum of Syd's) stepped in to replace him. Unfortunately he never recovered and spent his remaining years as a recluse. However, not so coincidentally, he showed up unannounced and unrecognizable at the studio during the recording of this album (1974) It was a very traumatic event for the remaining members, to say the least.

Floyd is my favorite band. I was fortunate enough to have seen Floyd twice. Once in 1988 and once in 1995 for the Pulse tour. I had VIP floor seats and it was an experience I’ll never forget. The last instrument was a baritone saxophone and when the notes get higher he changes to an alto saxophone. My 22yo son can play it and it’s just awesome. David Gilmour is a legend. When he plays the guitar without lyrics, none are needed. He can make the guitar speak to your soul. I would definitely check out my favorite Floyd song, Comfortably Numb. But please check out the live version as others have suggested. Gilmour has 2 solos. First one is shorter than second. But the second is arguably the best guitar solo ever.
Their first album, Piper at the Gates of Dawn is very different but is incredible in its own right. Especially Astronomy Domine and Interstellar Overdrive. Oh and a sort of funny catchy tune called Bike.

First time I listened to this was in Astronomy class my senior year of high school. Our school has a planetarium and our teacher let us bring i music to listen to at the beginning of clas. One song, then on to lessons. This was 1989 and we had Dolby 5.1 which was a big deal back then. Kid brings in this album not telling the teacher it's a 13-minute song, hits "play." Lights go down, stars light up, and I had what I can only describe as an out-of-body experience. Like being on a trip without drugs. Been hooked on this drug ever since. Withdrawals can be easily solved by more Floyd.

You said your ears never smile like this before, but you didn’t say that your soul felt warm and fuzzy. This very old metal rock head loves seeing new generations find these experiences discovering Pink Floyd it makes my soul warm and comfortably numb! God Bless Rock On Stay Safe!🙏👍🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

This song is a tribute to Roger "Syd" Barrett. He was an early member of Pink Floyd and was replaced by David Gilmour. Syd Barrett was a brilliant artist and musician who unfortunately gradually lost himself in his drug use and thus became unsustainable for the band. Nevertheless, he gave Pink Floyd the first important impulses for success. Syd Barrett turned up at the Abbey Road Studio during the recording of Wish You Were Here and was not recognized because he had become quite fat and was almost removed by security. Then Nick Mason asked David Gilmour if he knew the man? David had to say no and Nick Mason said "That's Syd". And Roger was in tears. They played some more music together and talked. Shine on you crazy diamond is an acronym for Syd. The song is intended to describe the emotional state, the state of health and the character of Syd Barrett musically

So many Pink Floyd songs slowly draw you in with their long intros. There's never a hurry to get into the music.

My fourpenneth. You need to listen to studio versions before the live ones. Echoes. The great gig in the sky. Comfortably numb. Run like hell. These are ones that are sublime in the studio version.

Great reaction! I enjoyed reading your comments as the music played. This is the GOAT trilogy from Pink Floyd. Dark Side, Wish You Were Here and Animals. Bookend them with Echoes and Comfortably Numb. All classics and Masterpieces.
I got this album at age 15, 1977. Used to take my stereo system to high school, and crank albums during (outdoor) lunch. Lol.
I highy recommend listening to these albums in song order. They each are a journey.

Shine on You Crazy Diamond was my very first Pink Floyd, copied by a friend onto a cassette when I was 11. Remains my very favourite I can never grow tired of listening to it. However I definitely think you need parts 6-9 to complete the song. The mood and atmosphere takes you to different places compared to 1-5.
I really like your style of reaction - adding comments in text rather than interrupting the music! And very poetic commentary as well. I've subscribed man

Saxophone. Thats the instrument(s) at the end. That is Dick Parry playing both (😮) of them!
Another great version from Pulse. Its the opening number. Think the studio version knocked your socks off? Yeah. 10x better from the concert. Not that the album is bad. It is a top 10 studio album in my collection. BUT you do get to see Dick with Both Saxs on him when he solos at the end. And watch him change from the baritone to the tenor sax in midflight is not to be missed. Yes...I witnessed this in 94. Lol. But it is also on the dvd or youtube videos.
    Good Stuff Man!

What a great reaction video to a Pink Floyd track! I agree, this one - no matter how many times I listen - gives me goose-bumps. I do have one 'unrelated' question though, could you tell me what type of mic you have in front of you? I love it, and would very much like to have one like it. Thank you for this information, in advance...and thank you for this reaction video.

I'm a 68. Year old pink Floyd fan. I had the honor of seeing Floyd at the pulse concert Oct 20th 1994 at earls court London England while in the navy. The tour was a division bell tour. This is the concert everyone reacts to. Floyd took my soul injected pure music and gave it back to me. Please react to great gig in the sky pulse concert. It will blow your mind

Great reaction. Always good to see that real music can still matter. instrument(s) at the end are Baritone sax and then Tenor sax (when the tempo switches from 6/8 to half-speed 12/8). But with this sort of music it hardly matters what they are. With this music it just matters that it moves you.

The name Pink Floyd comes from the given names of two prominent blues musicians, who Syd Barrett loved: Pink Anderson and Floyd Council.

Loving your reaction style. If you curious what to do next The Dark Side of the Moon has been on billboards top 100 since it's released in 1973. It's only 40 couple minutes long if you listen all the way through you can break a video up into a couple. It's definitely written as one piece meant to be listened to in one setting. Even if you don't tape it, I guarantee you won't regret it. Looking forward to your next video. Peace

What a brilliant idea to use subtitles for the comments so as to not interrupt the music and allow it to play without pausing. There is nothing more frustrating when beautiful music is constantly being paused and talked over. Shine on you crazy diamond is so amazing. I have listened to it so many times over the years, and yet it still gives me goosebumps each and every time. The comment that it is not just music but an experience is the best way to sum up Pink Floyd they take you away to another place on a sonic journey. Nobody even comes close to their brilliance as musicians. Gilmour has great vocals, but he sings more eloquently through his guitar transcending mere words.
