I’ve played baseball for a few years but I don’t know if it’s enough for the team. Six times a week I’m practicing my throwing and batting. I’m currently one a travel like team and I’m hoping with your help and the hard work it will pay off at tryouts and again I wanted to thank you for the four secrets all throwers should know it was very helpful.

    hey coach, I study biomechanics and have a question about the run off of the torsion through the front stiff leg, after contact and you deliver the pizza what would be the best way to dissipate that torsion while safeguarding the lead hip, knee and ankle. no one discusses the run off or follow through.

    • @johncasey1774
      @johncasey1774 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Shift your weight into your back leg and bend your front knee and get ready to run... at least that’s what I do

    • @08168609
      @08168609 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@johncasey1774 do you roll the lead foot to the heel and let the torsion spin off before driving through the toes to run. Do you have any inflammation or discomforts in the heel, ankle, knee or hip after BP? My concern is about dissipating the torsion or recoiling it to maximize the first stride or half stride of the run.

    Aye bro. So I just had cuts yesterday (I’m a sophomore) and there was about 35 freshman and 14 sophomores. I overall did really good in hitting and throwing as an outfielder. My 60 time was a 6.9. But I got cut and was really confused on why. Was rated only 1’s and 2’s out of 8 (1 being the worst) on hitting. 60 time. Throwing power. And fielding ability, and got cut over a kid with failing grades and smokes everyday. My suggestion for improvement was “we appreciate your effort. Keep working!” While everyone else who got cut had valid reasons like quickness and hitting improvements. Just wanted your opinion on that because most of the freshman made the sophomore team and he also told me there wasn’t enough room for me. :/

      Here's a few things you need to know about HS baseball and life.
      High School coaches might pretend they care about what players do outside (smoke) of baseball but in reality they care more about if you can hit. He doesn't care if you have straight A's. Because all you need is a 2.0 (straight C's).
      Maybe the other parents socialize with the coach more. Maybe they fundraise more. Maybe the coach doesn't like your parents. All these are a factor. You can be a really good player with great attitude but coaches need money for their program. Lol
      6.9 60 is a really good time but this isn't track. I'm not saying don't work on speed. But you can run a 6.5 and if the player that runs a 7.1 smashes he will start over you. Hitting is key. If you smash you will not sit.
      A local HS in Jan 2020. The best hitter on the team quit. He felt coach didn't give him a chance at a certain position. The player was always in the line up but not playing the position he wanted. He showed up to the first big game and sat in the other teams side. Even wore the other teams school hoody. The player was heard by parents and other players talking bad about the coach. Even with this coach begged him to come back. Over a month goes by and right before league was going to start. Coach also promises him to play the position he wanted. Player comes back last week and then coronavirus.
      Just imagine how much the coach doesn't care what anyone thinks of his decision. He was telling all the players a month or so ago. That he was a quitter. He wasn't a team player. Told the players at his position. That he was scared to fight for his position. Told parent bad things about the player. After all this still begs him back. Why because he was best Hitter on team. This coach pretends to care about character, ethics, team first mentality and all the other BS he says. But still begged a player that quit and bad month him to come back.
      Listen if you love baseball or at least like it a lot. And want to continue to play. You still have 2 more years of HS baseball. Don't be afraid to do what's best for you. The coaches do why shouldn't you.
      Good luck

      CB BBQ TEAM aye thanks man for saying that. Corona virus just cancelled my entire school year. So there’s no more sports and stuff. I’m doing fall ball if this corona virus thing gets under control by then. Maybe Showcase too. I’m also thinking about transferring to a different school. Because most likely next year of baseball. He’s going to have the same players he’s had this year. The school I’m thinking about transferring to, the JV coach knows my mom and uncle because they’ve known each other since highschool, and his little brother (JV coaches brother) knows me as well, I think I have a pretty good shot at at-least making the sophomore team there, because they are very competitive. But anyways, thanks for giving me more insight on what coaches might think most of the time.

  • @it_is_finished

    Good stuff. However imo the word “launch” is killing young hitters. I like to say the power position instead of launch position. When young hitters here launch they think launch the ball into the air. Which leads to dropping the hands or dipping back side, creating to much of an upward swing. Again I agree with everything you said in the video. It’s just the the word launch I don’t like.
