    Dominique is such a smart articulate compassionate wise lady with integrity. She’s come out of so much trauma from her own life experiences at such a tender age and used it to help counsel and support others who’ve suffered. I have the greatest respect for this lady. 🏆

    God I love her. I remember her as a babe winning and now she is stepping up and taking care of the next generation speaking out and keeping it real. good for her.

    I have to admit. I didn't care for her in 96 but she grew on me as she matured later but fore sure she's definitely an amazing person inside out now.

    I saw the video about when she discovered that she had another sister that she didn't know about. She took care of business when she found out. Class act.

      The discovery of the other sister (known today as Jen Bricker Bauer) is a key event she discusses in her memoir, Off Balance, which came out in 2012. By now I've seen plenty of vids about the event, some from Domi's perspective & some from Jen's perspective. One vid (I think it's the one titled "Romanian Roots") includes interviews of all 3 sisters plus Jen's adoptive parents.

    The Larry Nasser sexual assault information was known for a long time, but only now has it been found out that the F.B.I. did nothing to address these complaints and Aly Raisman and Simone BIles were both victims of this monster. Even after Simone Biles came forward about the sexual assault it took 17 months for anything to happen. In the meantime so many others became victims of Nassar and he has over 150 reported accounts of sexual assault. This is disgusting.

      what’s more disgusting the normal everyday females that never get any support or vindication for their abuse

    I agree with her about ramping up difficulty vs. the polish and aesthetics of the sport. For all the difficulty with Simone Biles' routines, she truly lacks polish. She simply can't point her toes if she tries. She is all about the physicality of the sport and she's taken it to another level. Good for her. I just wish she had longer, more elegant lines. That's what's missing from her and her routines.

      So you want her to stretch her body out? She does the best gymnastics with her body that God has given her!

    • @stonew1927
      @stonew1927 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Erin78G Nope, I don't want that, and I agree with you, she's done the most with her g-d given talent and body. It's actually her advantage, being so small and compact and strong, she can rotate higher and faster than any other woman in history. Just that she lacks the elegance of other gymnasts. She could work more on that. And also, the judging is the issue, that now rewards tricks over overall presentation.

    • @TNR-lover
      @TNR-lover 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@stonew1927 The judging has always been an issue and one obvious sign is the way things have been changed to ensure no one can get a perfect score anymore. Then there's also the way the judges are biased. One of the worst cases was during the 1978 World All Around women's gymnastics in France which featured flawless and extremely difficult moves by Elena Mukhina who beat Nadia Comaneci, but was never given a score of 10 due to the fact she represented the Soviet Union. The crowds boo-ed when she didn't get scores of 10, but the judges gave Nadia extremely high scores for terrible performances and in this same competition Nadia fell from the uneven bars.
      No disrespect to Nadia, but the judges have and continue to play favorites.

      Yes! Love Simone! She's an incredible athlete but it's called artistic gymnastics for a reason. Not trick/power gymnastics.....

  • @lexj6783

    All they did was destroy you? They made her! If they didn't coach her the way they did she would not have the clout to be able to even have an opinion on this! They may have wronged in some ways but in many other ways they made you! Forever victims suck because they can never give credit where credit is due! They can never say that sometimes good things come out of bad situations....

  • @lexj6783
    @lexj6783 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How many elite athletes has she coached? She can have an army of new generation athletes but how many of them have actually accomplished something? That's cool if she wants everyone to have a participation trophy but she would be nothing if that was the approach the people who made her who she is today had taken with her.... The only reason she is who she is, is because of the strict way they coached her!

  • @jukodebu
    @jukodebu 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    what she doesnt get is that these people used their knowledge and experience to train her because SHE wanted it. They had to get up everyday early and miss holidays and vacations to work too. How is she or anyone entitled to that. Of course abuse is out of the question though. She's complaining about their comments about weight but why should they work hard training a kid if theyre not going to be serious about it. After your career eat whatever you want. Seems as though a lot of the main point and goal of competing is lost on these girls. They want to be stars and win but why are they entitled to do what they want , why are they entitled to expect a high level of training but their way. Does anyone ever think of their coaches point of view?

    • @lexj6783
      @lexj6783 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep!!! Even if SHE didn't want it, SHE got it! Coaches are under a tremendous amount of pressure just like the athletes. I would argue that the coaches have even more pressure on them than the athletes. The kids want it yes, but so much more is behind supporting them than they can even fathom as the child... JUST SAYING.....

      So the current champions like Simone, Gabby Douglas, etc…are their training programs as “abusive”? Something tells me they’re not. So I don’t think the harsher type of training always leads to gold medals.
