Hello Bro, I am planing to cover both Leh and Spiti since I am visiting only Nubra valley and Pangong Lake. I have done lot of road trips in South Indian hill stations since I am from Bangalore. Driving is not an issue, but my concern is since the roads are very narrow in especially in Spiti Valley, so how to give way to vehicle from opposite direction? Please your suggestion is really needed . Thanks.
Hi Prashanth, you will see narrow roads in every part of spiti. In ladakh, not much between Spiti and Leh. But yes when you go beyond Leh, you will find some tough drive. Some dangerous narrow roads on Rohtang too. Hilly areas here in North are very different from South. Good news for you is, you will find much less traffic here coz of it being long, adventurous and dangerous. I would suggest you not to do Spiti and Ladakh in same trip. I know it sounds possible on papers. But trust me, you wont enjoy it. Driving is not a problem for you, but for your passengers, it will. My suggestion is to do Ladakh trip, gain some experience before going towards Spiti. Regarding your question, I wont be able to explain here. But you better watch my long drive videos of Ladakh / Spiti and you will find a lot of examples. Good luck. Btw do subscribe!!!
Thanks for your suggestion. I have already subscribed. Yes, I will do Leh - Ladakh in June by Scorpio. I hope doing Spiti in September is good right as it would be less crowded and roads too would have improved. your suggestion Pls?

How can a beginner like me know? and, 2. Do you get any sort of cell reception in these regions? Do you use google maps? is it any reliable?
hank you very much Veeraj. Your answers: 1. You dont have to. There's only 1 road at most of the places. Navigation here is much easier to understand than in most of the places in India 2. No reception anywhere other than in Manali / Leh. Yes I had offline google maps. Google maps are very reliable

But you must start following the weather forecast atleast 15 days before your journey starts, since at high pases, weather can be very unpredictable, like last year 2019. Regarding fuel, I carried a 30 ltr jerrycan. At Hanle, you will find diesel only. You can call Sonam at +91 94692 24302 for more info. He provides diesel at Hanle. Good luck.
