I was just looking at this yesterday and wondering went nobody talks about this and some players from last year still in the portal
The portals you see online are not the official portal, so all the info is not current. This official one is not accessible to the public. If you search online, you will see almost all of the players from last year went to other schools.
Some of these guys hitting the portal without a destination was foolish. Dudes quitting before the Spring game where you could showcase your skills. Cooper would have had playing time this year. Not sure Mckinney would have started over Cooper. Cormani probably would have been cut. If Alton waited 1 week he could have been the man at CU. The freshmen kid Brantley who's undersize and didn't look good at all. What in the hell were you thinking? Chazz Wallace has looked unremarkable, why not continue working on your craft with Sapp and Lewis? Now some of these kids will get picked up, some of them waited until the last day of the portal didn't do themselves any favors by entering the Portal. Some these guys like Zach Blackwood, Jacob Page, Jeremiah McCrimmon I said who? Never heard of him.

Other college teams have the same issue with players leaving as well. Remember, Coach Prime and Colorado had to start from almost scratch to build a team where other teams already had players in place. Those same teams lose less players than Colorado because of the position their teams are in. No one knew how the portal was going to work for anyone when it was implemented. Players who have the time should remain in place for a couple of seasons to see what will transpire after hard work, belief in self, and their program. Patience coupled with those usually works in some from to benefit YOUR life. At the end of the day, the decisions you make reflect on you the person. You can't always blame someone else for the choices you make for yourself. We all have to live with them...good and bad. A plant doesn't show its results until after its been worked and gone through things while in place.
Cormani was ranked 14th coming out of high school but ranked 1st of the corner backs. Please stop saying he was ranked #1 coming out of high school. That Manning kid that went to Texas was ranked #1 in Cormani class. Manning didn't even play last season but he staying at Texas and developing being patient waiting until its his time not jumping in the portal like some of these spoiled weak brats who get their feelings hurt by not starting.

Chas already said that if someone wants to go to the portal, don’t just jump in without having a team to go to. Some are in the portal because they’ve been told about their playing time and they want to try and go somewhere else. Also, some may not want to compete or feel they should have to. Some may be upset about their playing time. Others may have had a bag dangled in front of them and once they jumped in, the bag disappeared. In the case of Dylan Edward’s, wanted to be the featured back, felt he wasn’t get as much time as last year because of so many backs. I also believe that K State is his dad’s Alma mater and they dropped serious bag. If that’s the case, it may have been pressure on him by family members. I heard he got $250K.
Brione Ramsey-Brooks got the exit blocked. Nobody can get out the portal until he does.
The portal is unrestricted free agency. Teams are basically looking for the best 80-85 players available. If you’re rated lower than 85, it will be tough finding a Power 4 school that you will be able to join and be a part of the 1s and 2s.
It’s similar to the NFL cutting down to the 53 man roster. The 53 are the top guys and the best fits for the teams. If you’re a 6’3” 5 star DB with a track record, it’s better to take a 6’0” 3 or 4 star with a good work ethic and great attitude. You’ll get the 3 or 4 star guy at a better NIL or collectives deal😂

Looking at the former CU players that are still in the Portal is about right because CU was 4-8 last year. That was an improvement but if those players were that good then CU would not have been 4-8, especially after starting 3-0. They should all be getting that education and stop tripping on football when they are not good enough to go pro. There are about 4-5 that have left CU that could play in the NFL that have left in the last 2 years, if they get their head right. But I doubt that will happen. May be 1-2.
