Stu, thanks to you and a few others like Me and my Royal Enfield, I tackled the first service of the Interceptor. Have never done any work on a bike before and was able to set my tappets perfectly.
    Thank you

On your advice, I bought this bag and it just arrived about an hour ago. It is unbelievable I cannot tell you how much I like it. It’s perfect and I will be using it primarily on my triumph scrambler. The size will allow me to run a wave on weekends without any other bags, thank you very much for your review and your suggestions. Love your channel and thank you for your discount codes. I’ve used them now for several trip machine products

I like the fact that they give you four attachment straps that you can put on your bike if/when carrying a load, without fitting more permanent metal bars( that pleasure riders might only actually use maybe once every (numerous numbers) of casual journeys). Nice looking kit…

Trip Machine makes great items, have a couple. Waxed cotton, as you said, has been around forever. Used to have a long duster coat for ranch wear. So for those who have never used it don't be afraid of it's durability or price, it lasts and lasts. Great video as usual, thank you!

I got a pair of these for my Classic 350 during their Diwali sale. $170 for the pair delivered to America. They look absolutely gorgeous on the bike. Even when I am carrying one around on my back, I get a lot of compliments on the bag.

Fantastic looking and very practical kit, as always from Trip Machine. Another item for my list and obviously ideal for many uses. Bike, car and shanks's pony! I hope your new 'attack kitten' makes plenty of guest appearances too, just like your much loved Ollie Bob did 🤠

Nice piece of kit, it reminds me of the first rucksack I bought for my bike trips in the 70's from our local Army surplus store for the princely sum of 18/6d (an old English currency you'll remember Stuart) 😆
However it definitely wasn't as stylish and well finished as this one!
Nice to see your little mate in the video too 🐈‍⬛👍.

Goes well on a retro classic 👍🏻

Great review Stu. I can confirm the great properties of waxed cotton. When I started motorcycling , legally, on the Road in the early 70's I inherited my Dad's waxed cotton Barbour jacket and trousers which he'd had since the early 60's. It was shiny, scratched, a bit dog eared in places but never let water in and kept the wind out. Guess what? I still have them and they still work! Do you remember the Belstaff trials master suits from the 60's? Tough gear for tough conditions. Who would have thought they would become the trendy gear for the sloane rangers these days! Keep up the good work. 👍

  • @PhilipBallGarry

Thanks Stu, I'll check out the link👍. My slight ocd has prevented me from using a single pannier in the past - the asymmetry makes me uneasy. But that bag looks so good I think I could actually get over it 👍.

All the bags and gear on Tripmachine look great. I’ve been watching all the reviews Stuart as been doing on luggage. The Rambler looks like the bag for me. So I’ve ordered one, thanks for the discount Stuart! It’s on its way, but beware of the Import duty/tax. DHL want a lot of money before delivery. I was expecting import duty/tax, but it’s very expensive!

    Thanks for sharing.
My Dad had what sounds like the same rucksack as your teacher. His had a metal frame which enjoyed battering the kidneys !
Enjoyed the kitten appearance in the video. My cat always comes out to visit when I return home on the bike.
In the days of pointless electronic gizmos on bikes , rain mode, cornering abs etc it’s good to see feline assist.
Trip machine luggage always looks good , however I have not yet seen any panniers that appear to allow for the pillions feet on the foot rests?
Have you tried the Merlin wax cotton riding gear, I cannot recommend this highly enough. Also for riders with a smaller budget or that need pillion foot space the Oxford classic wax panniers , whilst not as classy as the Trip Machine stuff , seem good from my experience.

I enjoy watching all your videos and they have helped well sort of. I’m so torn as what to get. This will be my first proper bike as I’ve only ever had lambrettas and Vespas. I like old school so the classic suits that brief but the other two are equally as nice all I know is it has to be a royal Enfield and work for someone who is vertically challenged (5ft 7in).

    • @RobVespa
      @RobVespa ปีที่แล้ว

Vespas and Lambrettas *are* proper bikes. Anyone who tells you different isn't worth hearing. That typed, I understand. The experience on most motorcycles is different - from the stance to shifting and other aspects. It varies from bike to bike. Get the bike that makes you smile the most.

Oh the days of Belstaff jackets and troosers...I still have a Belstaff jacket I must have bought sometime in the early 90s...still going strong. These days you can buy waxedcotton jackets of decent quality for less dosh..but a Belstaff is still the best.
For leather if you leave it then yes it will dry out and crack. However you can buy creams for nourishing and softening leather preventing drying our and cracking. I would not recommend the ones used for car valeting. On the internet you will find companies that sell proper leather nourishing creams and cleaning products. Just don't get one that removes the dye...!
Best applied with warm fingers and leave for around 24 hours to soak in. Keeps your leather in good condition.
Leather retains fats etc so these professional leather care products replace these fats etc. Once it soaks in there's no residue or anything.
You're in Hull Aren't you Stuart...there's a company called the leather repair company in hull, you can buy such products from them. A pot lasts a good while as you don't need to apply it too often..just when needed. They manufacture their own products and they are very good. Nothing they don't know about leather. Fella that owns it does leather restoration work on old cars and the like...very good at it. Been in the leather repair business for a long time.
Noticed the little puddy cat there...Yours I assume..? One thing I would say is I noticed his collar as if it has an ordinary buckle. These can be dangerous for cats as they can get hooked up on a branch or nail or something..with dire consequences. Also cats can get a front leg stuck through the collar..not good. Collars with quick release buckles are better as obviously if anything like this happens they just fall off. Which can cost for another one. For Identifying Puddy having him chipped is a good idea if he isn't already chipped. Doesn't cost much and puddy doesn't feel anything as it's implanted in the scruff.
Some years ago I found a cat in the back yard with his left front leg stuck through his collar..he was in a pretty bad way. He'd grown and the collar had dug into his leg and neck. Anyhoo I got the collar off and him treated..and fed as he was a bit skinny.
Still got him now...ruddy big teddy bear really, spends enough time sat on me shoulder like a ruddy parrot.
No chip and no one claimed him..he'd obviously been lost for a while.
So just wanted to make people aware of that issue. I think being aware of things is better than not being aware. One of those things you don't think about..I didn't until I found this one. He's an old lazy house cat now. Eats a lot though.
