But we aren't talking about God when we are making laws in this country are we? The last time I checked church and government do not mix when it comes to making laws in this country. So bringing religion into this as an argument would deem invalid in the court of law and would be the fastest way to get you to lose your case. Which is probably why gay marriage has been getting approved these days. Yelling and screaming God isn't going to help your cause only hurt it. You need a better strategy.

I believe you are referring to Leviticus 20:13 "When a man lies down with a male the same as one lies down with a woman, both of them have done a detestable thing. They should be put to death without fail." The book of Leviticus was showing the consequences of obedience or disobedience to God's law. I believe their are consequences to all of us who disobey God's law.

Actually 11 countries recognize gay marriage, and many others recognize gay civil unions, but ignoring those, it's about 95% of the world who is against homosexual marriage.
America is one of the countries "against" same sex marriage. It's not nationally recognized. But over 50% of the population supports it. So are we really against it? Only legally. So that 95% figure drops significantly if you don't just go by what's legally recognized.
Firstly it's not my definition. I have no control over what the government decides to do nor am I the creator of marriage. I can only tell you what has been said from generation to generation. A marriage is between one man and one woman. Go to any country in the world majority of the people will tell you the same thing. If there is a vote I will vote for what is right and that is keeping it between one man and one woman.
I believe in and want equal rights for all couples regardless of their sexual orientation. It seems illegal for certain people to be denied some of the many benefits afforded to married people because of their sexual orientation. However at the same time if religions want to claim some form of union between two people as holy, let them. Religions can believe whatever bigoted crap they want. The government should develop its own union that affords equal rights to all people.
