Had the pleasure of riding behind this beast just a couple of days ago . We took the last train of the day from Bridgnorth and it sounded in fine fettle all the way to Kiddie and our compartment was wonderfully warm ! Congratulations are in order to those who work hard to make this possible
I love your channel…such a great idea to place a camera in the prime position in the drop window right behind the loco, and I love the elevated view from just behind the locomotive as well. Back in the late ‘70’s I was doing this exact thing, but with a cassette player and microphone. I compiled four or five cassettes worth of soundtrack, including a cab ride in 55 017 from KX to Stevenage (I actually travelled all the way to Donny on the footplate but could only record the first half hour on one side of a C60!) I also have happy memories of riding behind Peaks, and this video really brings it all back. Keep up the great work.
Thank you for the kind words, it seems we love the same things… I love the sounds behind engines from just behind the engines. Did you record with wind muffled microphone?
