A Channel for Bashers! So much Thrash here, with hundreds of hours for Subscribers, You'll never get bored, even in the Winter! My railway interest started at 12, died off, in my late teens and came back in the last 35 years. I love rail travel, being able to have a beer, without the drink drive problem. I love window gazing and in years gone by, window hanging from the front drop down, not available on all mainline trains nowadays!
Almost all trains, are now boring sealed air con' tubes. So in tribute the drop down window, now extinct from the mainline, where the real atmosphere is with train travel, I am trying to cover, as many lines as possible, particularly behind heritage loco traction, to film. I have set up a safe rig, respecting H&S concerns. Great sound quality, gps data in some films was a must and of course, roof cam on the Heritage lines catching the clag! In pursuit of great sound with reduced wind noise, the mission is almost complete.

50015 Filthy Clag & Throbbing Noise at the Autumn 2024 ELR Gala! Make sure you get the volume up!
The signature thumping class 50 noise, with a particularly dirty exhaust for me, makes Valiant one of the most enjoyable 50's out there! Being Thunderbird to 40145 on the day and running into the night this Class 50 lived up to it's name for sure. Enjoy the fun! On the day multiple failures spookily on Friday the 13th!!!!!!

During the September 2024 Diesel Gala, at the Great Central Railway travelling behind 50017, we heard the iconic English Electric sounds. This class 50 Hoover, is the only one preserved, in the original Network South East livery. Later in this film there is a cab ride in 50017 in 2019 exactly 5 years earlier in very different September weather conditions. Get the volume up for full enjoyment! P...

Napier Noise is hard to resist and from the cab as well! From my perspective a Deltic sounds very different inside. 55019 completed a personal ambition of mine for more than 44 years, as I had not yet been onboard one. Driven and well explained by Andy Pepper, from the Great Central Railway and the Deltic Preservation Society itself. The train was a light load of 5 and with gentle gradients, it...

Dirty smelly old Hoover .love it!!!!.
@@basiltaylor8910 it sounds great doesn’t it?
@@hellfiretvmh Yes, in the early 80,s I lived on a small council estate outside Stroud on the hill opposite the main line to London Paddington. Treated to a plethora of proper1960,s iron, not washing machines or food processers on wheels. Tractors ,Toffee Apples, Brushes, Met Camms and of course Hoovers rumbling growling along that line. On a still night one can hear a well thrashed Hoover or Tractor for miles, now it is Sheds Skips Fugglies and other crap bought cheaply from Euronics or Currys.

Lovely stuff, music to my ears! Very nicely put together fearure Martin, looks like you made the most of the day at the GCR. I would've been there on the Friday, but wasn't feeling very well. Having driven 55019 at the NVR earlier this year I can definitely relate to the cab experience.
How are you? Hope you are better now.. Nice to hear from you.. Deltics sound great still don’t they?
What's the difference between a class 37 & 55??
Class 37 is 1750hp 4 stroke v12. Deltic is 18cylinder 2 stroke x2 3300hp. 72 pistons in total. Put napier deltic in you tube. Amazing power unit
@zedcharlie Many thanks. I thought there were two classes of Deltic, 37 & 55. The engine exteriors look similar, thanks for the input 👍🏻👍🏻

Stunning condition for something over 60 years old!
@@hellfiretvmh Wow, that’s amazing. I have very fond memories of seeing these back in the 1970’s, I was with parents waiting on the windy platform at Abergavenny as trains came & went, granny was coming to stay with us so we kept a look out for her train to arrive down the long straight track. They seemed massive to me and the sound and smell was wonderful. Like dinosaurs. We did that quite a lot for a few years until she passed away.
Great video Martin, loved the section over the reservoir which is quite iconic to the GCR
I love filming there.. the sun was just starting to go down creating a lovely backdrop for the 37’s. Thank you..

@@hellfiretvmh Brake Van ride was overcast, but dry. Certainly not for the faint hearted or infirm. Was first time they'd ran brake van rides. Guard gave good safety brief including no leaning out to the sides and limited to 6 passengers.
Two Tractors for the price of one, twice the noise and smoke, hear those Napier turbos sing and have you seen the video of a very very angry Tractor wrestling a cement train?.

Class 40. Overweight and underpowered. BUT english electric locos probably the most reliable of the modernisation plan locos, and that turbo whistle. SO SO SO glad they live on in preservation.

@@hellfiretvmh It is true ,have you seen what passes for a loco these days?, crap brought from Euronics or Currys, for f---ks sake a class 70 is built of Lego, a 68 from a recycled Candy Washing machine an upside down tin bath and your daughter,s Cindy pedal car . I hope so too! I travelled 200 miles on the Sunday after seeing it was going to be dry on the forecast the previous evening. After the return trip it started raining again as it had for the 3 days , so was slightly fortunate!

Big loco, sounds lovely
Powerful sounds from this veteran. Such fun on the day!
I remember coming back once from an excursion/railtour to Edinburgh when I was much much younger (about 13), back to my home town of Cov when in the late hours, we got our 86/87 taken off us at Crewe and swapped out for a 40, which then took us all round Shrewsbury to eventually get back to New St and Cov thanks to a derailment/accident that had blocked the WCML somewhere near Stafford. Could have been the Bushbury Junc accident. Eitherway, we got dragged from Crewe, around the Salop branch to Cov behind a 40, getting back finally at about 2AM.... as has been observed, very entertaining travel, in old Mk1 and Mk2a coaches...
Great story I guess my film helped you reminisce. Thank You
the sounds of these beasts takes me back to being a young child i was learning how to ride my bike A raleigh commando in 1978 right next to guide Bridge T.M.D depot in Ashton-under-Lyne the sounds of these beasts fascinated me and got me into spotting locomotives! Good video 🔈🔉🔊🥰
