Of the Paramount films, 5 is the only one that overall sucks (the scene with Joey is so ridiculous and memorable though). The movie just feels poorly made and the kills are cheap.
The TNT MonsterVision intro was everything back in the day, I love the logo and backdrop and the narrator introducing Joe Bob, and that sound of screaming teens like they're on a roller coaster. 😊
Joe Bob rules. I still remember watching MonsterVision and I miss it now. TNT needs an overhaul and I know he’s on Shudder, but pay him to come back TNT. Imagine Joe Bob being on following AEW on Wednesdays and also on Saturday nights. Instant ratings.
He really got the raw deal from TNT in 2000. Once the merger between AOL and Time Werner happened there content changed, he was fired without a big reason and it didn't help that WCW Monday Nitro was failing on ratings. They really went on a downward slide after all of that.
Justin Turley the sad thing was Monday Nitro was still the top rated show on the network. If Turner was still in charge and hadn’t been shown the door due to the merger, I truly believe WCW would’ve stuck around on TNT. Ratings were starting to go back up but they wanted instant results. You’re never gonna get that. It’s gonna take time to turn the product around.
@Jack Smith it’s not just that. They wanted a quick fix and they knew it would never happen. A fixing of the company would’ve taken months or even years and they didn’t give a you know what.
Through those years, TNT never showed after 6. USA seemed to have exclusive rights to 7 and 8 on basic cable. 1-3 were on both TNT and USA through those years as well as 5. 4 and 6 I only ever saw on TNT. Jason Goes to Hell occasionally aired on BET of all places.
YAY, I only got to READ the transcript of this and The New Blood:) I love how he says the exact thing about this one NOT being The FINAL Chapter on the Dusk to Dawn Marathon ("Surprise!") before he was cut off about the tape 'missing'! I was actually legit disappointed when I saw his host segments for just part 3 on a separate episode and he ALSO said 'Edna gets a knitting needle rammed through her noggin' and how on TV the 3D doesn't quite work the same way as during the marathon;) He always fools me into thinking he's improvising, just like Nostalgia Critic and James Rolfe, so when I find out it's all just perfectly scripted just like with them, well--COLOR me SHOCKED:):)

Part 5 was and still is widely considered to be the worst of the Paramount Friday the 13th films. 4 is average imo, but i consider 1, 3 and 6 to be the three best followed by 7.
I'm gonna revise my ranking and put 7 much lower and raise 4 up towards the top. I'm always changing my mind on these movies but one thing that's never changed is my dislike for 5 lol
