This video has wrong information, repeaters and extenders are pretty much the same thing, however in the video he covers two types of it.
One that connects to your router via WiFi and extends it's signal, this kind is affected by thick walls and distance, if that's the case you'll need one with more than two antennas, however all you need to do is find your WiFi's dead zone and plug this device near it, signal may be slow or unreliable.
And the other one covered in the video connects to your router via Ethernet, this is the most reliable of them all but the downside is that you have to run an Ethernet cable from your router to the power outlet in where you are connecting your Ethernet extender, however you don't have to worry about it's signal quality, distance, nor thick walls, nor unreliability, it's like having a physical router there.

Agree. for me, boosters, repeaters and extenders are all the same thing. they all amplify the received signals (either via wi fi or ethernet cable) and extend coverage areas. they do not change the name because of how they receive the original signals from the router.

My preferred solution is to use a separate access point. You can have multiple APs if you wish. These are wired to your network and many support Power over Ethernet.

Extender is better because with a repeater the WiFi speed is halfed, also with a repeater you are more prone to interference issues as the distance you cover by WiFi is larger, while with an extended you rely on a cable for some of it, which is more stable. A more common name for extender is "accesspoint", the difference is that it doesn't hang in the powersocket and the product-quality is generally much better. Also, there is some misinformation in the video, as you can perfectly fine use the same SSID (wifiname) with an extender/accesspoint as well.

Use an extender if you can. Use a repeater if you can't. Since an extender needs a hard line input, co-ax or Modem, it can't be used everywhere

    Extenders DO NOT amplify as
WiFi signals. I bought a TP RE700X range extender configured it and and accessed it with my laptop, I got 50% of the signal strength that the main router was broadcasting. I then set up the lap top and the extender side by side and accessed the main router, I got 450mbps on my laptop. From exactly the same location I accessed the extender from my laptop. I got about 200. I am returning the extender

When i do a scan with my tv it says the signal is fair. My RV is 100 feet from the router inside my home . It is about 80 feet from a 110 outlet on my back porch. My qustion is this ; if i were to plug a repeater into the outlet on my back porch would it solve my buffering problems in the RV ? Also the only device i will have connected in the rv is a smart tv for streaming .
