Charcoal craftsman struggles with 1300℃ flames

Uonuma white charcoal has been passed down since the Meiji period.
Binchotan charcoal from Wakayama Prefecture is also white charcoal, and it is said that this tradition
made its way into Niigata Prefecture during the Meiji period.
