You aint kidding. I gave up looking. Really looked hard at the Lynx Faring. But i want a bigger dash. So I just started the process of making one. Going to look at both fixed to the tripple trees or fixed to frame. But settled on using a fairing from a Honda X-ADV 750. Slightly modified. If it turns out well, I will post a video of it. If it looks too cheesy, well then no one will know. Lol. But yes. Somoene could stand to make a serious ton of money if they did it right.
I bought a rally tower kit for my DRZ 400 from Perfect Fairings in Greece. I installed it on my DRZ in the US and raced Sonora Rally with it. Unfortunately, an aluminium bracket on the nav tower failed during the race and I lost a lot of time. I have since abandoned the "Perfect Fairing." I am now a fan of the HighwayDirtBikes rally kit. Check them out for some inspiration. They have a clean simple solution which might inspire a build for an older style rally bike.
Lovely. Had some time with my phone taking pictures and running them through some 3d point cloud sw and for the price (free) the result was rather nice. Still though, I had to scale the model (engine) and am not sure it's precise enough. Based on this experience I went on modeling existing fuel tank from scratch in fusion, to be able to make fairinga on top of that. What a pita. Glad you showed the Sense 3D scanner, as it really is inexpensive if you have something in mind to make.
There is also a new interesting scanner from Creality coming out, I backed the project on kickstarter and should receive it soon it’s more or less like the sense price but seems better and easier to use. Will maybe make a video when it arrived
@@ManuelLucchese1 please do, because as we talk, Sense scanner is nla mostly, from reputable sources and afaik it no longer gets updates and customer care.
I am about to start my second rally tower from scratch. My first was for a DR650. My second is going to be for my 2008 Beta 450.... So I'll be following to see your expert tips. Thanks in Advance
Should build the nav tower on a honda xr. They have bikes running from 1980 to current. Choosing one would allow it to be interchangeable between many different bikes over decades.
Thank so much, that advice will be great help to me, I will use my grand mother measuring tape and one Pachymeter.Grazie tante and Buon pranzo at the Dakar.
Hey bro! really like your content but i have a feedback for you. You named this one EP.1 but there is no EP.2 and let's be honest, your chanel is a mess. Can't find anything. All the names of the videos and headings are so resembeling each other...
Never did episode 2 due to the fact then I started running the Yamaha official team and didn’t have time to move on with this series but no this year I should get the time to get it off again!! I divided in playlist so there is a playlist dedicated to Dakar, one to bike builds one to tests and so on
Thanks Manuel this is exactly what I was looking for, especially shown by a professional like you'!!
When do we can expect the next episode ?
I love this series idea. I need my shed time each week and this is the sort of project that I want to try.
Looking forward to this DYI build. Suzuki drz400 would be good. Heaps of these around the world.

Highly under rated channel
Really good video makes you start thinking of starting a project when you can get an insight and shown step by step, thanks
Thanks a lot!! I really hope I will get some time in February to search for a good old bike and move on the next episodes :)
Congrats for your videos! I’m forward for the next episodes. I suggest Suzuki DRZ400E.
Use a Honda XR 650 L or a Suzuki DR 650. Keep the great videos coming.
When the next one video?
A Suzuki DR650 would be great. Cheap, no major changes since 1996 and plentiful around the world.
Great video Manuel, greetings from Argentina.
Nice one, Manuel. Looking forward to the rest of the series. I might be tempted to have a go on my 2001 Dakar!
Right on time, just as I started to look more into nav towers and how to make my own.
Was this a one-off video? Hope you follow thru with a series on this. Build on a Dr650 please.
Awsome project Manuel. Klr 650 owners love to DIY, maybe not for a race though 😂
Yes please keep this going!
Molto interessante Manuel, bel progettino. Grazie per aver aperto questa finestra sulla tua creatività. Sei davvero geniale. Ciao, Marco.
nice Manuel. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
Gran bel video! Il metro da sarta della nonna, la cosa fondamentale in officina!
i had no idea was so complicated ;) will buy Rebel and ride fearless ;)
Will there be a continuation of the topic?

what about the other episodes?
This was an excellent video and is 👍🏾 greatly appreciated
Very nice video, trank you very much Manuel. I'm waiting for the next video 👍👍
Try a Honda XR650 or Honda XL600R both great platforms!
Very good video! Thank you this comes in handy as I am designing a custom nav tower for my Honda crf 250L (2013). Keep up the good work!
I would love if you could use a Honda Xr650L for this project
Thank you! Great video
DR650 please

So it's been two years since this was posted and there doesn't appear to be a part two....... What happened?
I would reccomend using a TT600R belgarda.. italian and inexpensive and a solid bike that is still relevant due to its suspension and weight:-)
Very good ! Please moor...
Il fantic enduro 2504t secondo me è l ideale , motore senza tanta manutenzione , peso contenuto , un bel kit e via ovunque
Please keep on Yamaha xt 600 like you showed it in your video here would be perfect
La yamaha xt600 está perfecta, como la que pusiste la imágen, es de la que menos mods para rally hay
Great video👍 but be careful when you are in the ladies drawers 😂
07/10 model WRF 450, :)
DIY, low budget... just let me grab my 3D SCANNER REAL QUICK lol great job tho
