This is THE most underrated game of all time. It was a technical marvel at the time with very satisfying gameplay and mission, level design, sound design.
Dude I just remembered all the memories of playing this game as an 8 year old. This shit was not only fun but I was really into the cutscenes too. It's crazy to think how realistic it seemed as a kid and now its almost as if it's a different game I'm watching.
I always remember playing this game. I loved playing it so much but never even got close to beating it. I was 5 at the time and probably didn’t follow the games instructions. Over 16 years ago and I still remember 😭
I remember my jaw dropping as a seven year old when Cyclonus spins you around and throws you off the temple. This game was a very formative piece of my childhood. Absolute gem
A remastered version on PS5/XSX would be amazing. Bought this new in 2004 on ps2 the original fat one when I was 14, never got to finish it. But for the time the graphics were insane. Also, the gameplay itself is a masterpiece.
@@Moon-vf8hf If you set off enough alarms drop ships come in for reinforcements. If they spawn together and collide, they both explode. Its quite rare for it to happen. Some enemy's can call in drop ships, like the flying drone's and the commanders that have these large blades, some of these have stealth. They call for reinforcements when they shoot a beacon in the air.
This game is my goddamn childhood, I played this all the time oh and tidal wave my god I thought he was the biggest transformer, but then when I got to the true final boss, unicron made my jaw drop from my head all the to the floor and couldn’t believe how massive he was.
Even though devastation is fantastic, this Transformers game is the best out of all of them, the graphics, voice acting, and smoothness of the gameplay are all phenomenal!
This is one of the only games I would completely respect someone playing on easy mode. Normal mode is like hard mode or extra hard in majority of other shooters. One of my biggest accomplishments as a gamer was besting this game on normal. This is one of the original "get gud" games I ever encountered. Though, it actually has difficulty settings.

Me being probably 7 when I played this, I didn't realize the pyramid was the FIRST zone. I was playing that shit like it was the final boss of the best game ever.
Just seeing the PS2 starting logo gets me so nostalgic 😭 I played the hell out of this game! When I got my hands on the purple spike grenade minicon you got in the 2nd level, I knew I was having fun 😄 boss battles fun, music cool, driving can be a little wonky...just mostly wish you had a booster for the glider 🤔
@@CokeMilkYT Oh, of course! Best thing you got for a booster (cheat code made Hot Shot so much fun with slipstream, where it recharges instantly) I guess flying like the Unicron battle on open maps would defeat the purpose of collecting mini cons the right way, so glad they didn't 🙂

I played this a lot when I was younger and I recently found my ps2 and some games this one included and the nostalgia also the tidal wave fight will always be a rage inducing nightmare for me
Got this for my 7th birthday and I still have it to this day, just no console to play it on sadly. But I loved going around and using all the different minicons and destroying decepticons. Me and my cousin had a laugh when we equipped the tractor beam at Alaska and just chucked a dude over the side of the cliff 😂
Yes and no. The Playstation 2 was the weakest of the three, computing power wise. This engine is confidently written, i.e. the renderer and LOD system is very efficient at rendering those large areas.

The PS2 also had two vector units besides a main processor, which if optimized well, could deliver incredible graphics. Metal Gear Solid 2 running at 60 FPS, MGS3, Silent Hill 3, Transformers game from 2004 are some of the best examples of this.

This game needs a remastered and to add some changes like i would love to play as the decepticons and have their own story also to add more autobots to fight and have their own army and to have like a co op or multiplayer that would be amazing

oh man, this takes me back. i remembered the time i found a glitch by accident in the starscream boss fight which made him circle around me in jet mode but unable to attack, so i simply stood in one spot and tried to land my shots. and did that make the fight 10x easier for my 7 year old ass.
Nobody gonna mention that this game is included as free trial in the game DRIV3R? Back then I played this TF game as free trial without having a single bit of knowledge about the vast TF franchise. (I started to love TF when I played TF: The Game on PS2 in ca. 2007 - 2008)
Here after the Galactic Trials even tho' I had to put up with it's hatebase. This looks cool, I grew up with the Unicron Trilogy besides Beast Wars,Animated, and RID 2001, so if this game gets a Remaster or Reissue and yet maybe a Switch release? I'd gladly take this over the High Moon and Devastation games anyday. Reason why I said that is because I never cared much for Aligned anymore and also G1 to begin with, except for Rescue Bots and of course RID 2015 since that show was my guilty pleasure lol.

Fun fact: The game was supposed to have an easy mode, but it was cut before release, making “Recruit” more akin to medium difficulty.
