I’ve recently been purchasing wallets from these guys. I just would like to say a few things.. this video clearly shows the respect these individuals have for their job. I mean there not just winging it, you can clearly see the passion they have. This is what separates this company from the rest. Every wallet I’ve purchased from this company.. Has been far above and beyond my expectations. These guys are the real deal! Also their customer service is top notch!! I’ve talked to the owners and workers of this company a few times about my product.. mostly just to thank them for making such a wonderful product, their very quick to respond and answer any questions that I had. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Thank you Ashland! Kevin
The amount of time you took picking the thread for this one just speaks to how you guys think. Its all in the details. "Thats the One" The line that defines this video.
After watching this video , I appreciate every piece of Ashland wallets I own , it shows how much they put their heart into making a beautiful masterpiece , much respect to all of the Ashland staff, Thanks for all the hard work you do and an awesome customer service
All of your wallets are high-end handmade quality pieces, but it’s very impressive how so many of your wallets are one-of-kind, true pieces of artwork. Every component, including the exact area of the shell that is cut and used, is selected and matched by the artisan. These are collectors pieces that one could eventually hand down to future generations.
Thanks, Joseph! In the last year we have been able to really showcase different leathers and combos with our Private Stock drops. Being able to see all of the different leathers gets me out of bed in the morning but we're not able to do it without the support of people like yourself buying them. Thanks again for the kind words!
A gorgeous wallet, but I’m really curious as to why you machine stitched it. If I was spending the money on a shell cordovan wallet I’d definitely want it hand stitched.
It's sad but the fact is you can charge just as much money for a machine stitched wallet.. 90% of the population don't know the difference or could care less
@@JohnJohn-xb1sn But 90% of the population also won’t pay for shell cordovan. Those who do buy leather items made from shell cordovan definitely know the difference!
@@mikek9188 I saw Phil said in another video that the only advantage to hand stitch was the just appearance of the larger hand stitch pattern if you happen to prefer that.
@@AshlandLeather i think that was what horween originally developed shell for... would be great if you can make 1 or 2 to test the market, i would definitely purchase one
I have tool envy for your deep throat gauge haha the press tool and dies is also pretty cool I bet that cost a few bob but I bet it pays for itself no end
why would anyone ruin a nice horse butt with that mess of a dye job. yuck. whats that?? oh yes... cordovan folks is HORSE!!! sorry. just a marketing ploy... 'lets call this poor horse CORDOVAN, THEN they'll buy it....' hahaha nope. not me.
We all know what Shell Cordovan is. Do you think that you're revealing some big secret that's not supposed to get out? Maybe you should do a little research before calling it "just a marketing ploy".

Bravo, loved this video. To see the process, the skill and vision required to create these masterpieces was amazing. Thank you for sharing !

Nothing spells craftsman like a press cut leather…

You need to learn what the difference is between handmade and machine made. They are machine made NOT handmade.
A tear came to my eye soon as I seen the sewing machine
I am speechless...true beauty!!!!!
Thanks!
I could watch these videos all day. I have an even greater respect for my shell Cordovan wallet now. Great work guys !!
Thanks for checking it out MJ!
Beside the obvious leather beauty and craftsmanship, the edges look amazing!
Thanks, m cc! Appreciate your kind words
Love the shell color combination on this wallet. More please 🤗
Thanks, M!

Wow I would love to have a bin full of shell!
Do you offer hand stitching for the wallets as an up charge? I really don’t like the way machine stitch looks cosmetically. Thanks.
Yes we can hand stitch by request. Email me? info@ashlandleather.com
Love the leather! Love the videos too! I can't see why you're wearing a mask while doing so, though.
He must be one of your best crafters to entrust such a special leather. A hot item 🔥🔥🔥 How about hand stitch special pieces?
Amir is a-miracle! Good call on hand stitch
Hand stitched is the way to go, even I’ll buy something in this as long as it’s hand stitched!
@@mikek9188 You must have incredibly high standards if you'd only - and only - buy an ashland leather wallet if they were handstitched.
@@thijsg717 Yeah. as it's very expensive to send from across the border - back a wallet for them to repair that's why I opt for hand stitched

Excellent wallet 👏, which model of juki in video do you use
We have several different Jukis but my favorites are the LU-1508NS
@@AshlandLeather thanks for answer
After watching all the prep work I was sure that he was going to hand (saddle) stitch this wallet?
Love the special leather though! Need a fox in that!
I'm making some Foxes!
Obsessed with this rainbow shell! What tannery is it from?!
These shells were tanned by Horween Leather in Chicago
DO YOU know that is a horse hide?? cordovan is horse? You are no doubt no american. good grief.
thats really a beautiful wallet, but with a lot of machinery involved (cutting, stitching, burnishing), can this still be called handcraft?
I think so yes
Still think you should sell panels of shell 🤗 or even the 2nd run stuff
Any Apple Watch bands?
awesome
Are you working in slow motion on purpose? Lol
do you make shell razor strop?
I'm sorry but I don't make razor strops

Only place I've seen a shell cordovan strop is at store.burrfection.com

Urban jungle camo!
What great craft! Terrific!
"Butt" ugly 😉 great job I love the look!
Looked like a lot of wasted material during the clicking stage.

That's not handcrafted, you used machines!
Handcrafted means you cut the leather by hand and stitch it by hand etc.,
You did it with machines!
