Sonego put it all out there this week!
Marozsan was able to get rattled and undone. With a player like Rublev that can get irritated at any moment, his best tactic was to stay calm, stay with him at every point and eventually persistence would make him break through.
Did you see the whole match? Marozsan usually stays very calm. That he smacked the ball after that missed volley is understandable, or were there more outbursts?
I notice that when Rublev is down, we then get the "eurghh!" every ball he hits. Is this deliberate hindrance??
@@simonballard6413 No, he never hinders.. and he doesn't do it with every ball - each shot requires different effort. If you only watch 2-minute highlights, you can't make accurate assumptions on how a player plays & what happens during the entirety of a match.

Everybody is talking about Rublev, Musetti or Cerundulo but Mensik is the guy and can be the surprise of the tournament. Besides that, we will hear about him in the future for sure!

I agree, he seems to be mentally and physically very mature for his 18 years. and he has all the tools to play at the very top.
@@piner74In a match a couple of months ago that he was losing, he launched a racket across the court & nearly hit a ball kid.. like many players, he can be volatile. tennistv chooses not to show those moments for certain players though cos they want to launch the new gen

Anyone notice ever since rublev returns first he does better? Ever since he started serving first he’s been doing a lot worse. Rublev should go back to returning first in matches to relieve some of that pressure.
If I’m not mistaken he lost in Wimbledon when he chose to return first :‘)
That's not how it works.. one choice over the other doesn't determine how a match goes - it's more about the combination of opponent, conditions, surface, his own level on the day etc.. Every match is different - tennis isn't determined on stats alone.

I am saying this now and I've been saying this for a while. Mensik is the real deal. Give him a couple years to toughen up phisically, and even more tactically, and he is going to cause a lot of trouble to Carlos and Jannik, mark my words. I would happily be wrong (big jannik fan) but I am afraid I won't be.

Consistency. Maintaining a high level of tennis throughout entire seasons, keeping him in the top 10 for 4 years now.. not a one-hit wonder who does well in one tournament but can't sustain it for the entire season. Getting past his emotional blocks would be the next step to get him higher.
I am glad sonego lost. Why would you yell after your shot is over almost the opponents shot is over too. That is bot grunt it is annoying yelling.

It's funny how most of the rublev fans don't seem to care about what happens tennis wise, he wins they happy, he loses they sad. He still has big mental problems, no adaptation to his game and struggles to win. But cheers I guess
Correct. He is a psycho. His mental state is his biggest opponent.
I‘m pretty sure Rublev fans don’t want to see him smash his racket against his own knee, even if he wins the match. He is seeing a therapist but mental issues won’t be overcome within a few weeks, especially considering he’s been this way since he was a child.
Rublev fans do care about this and they also know that he cares about it, it pains him & he's working on it - deep-seated issues (& no-one knows the details) do not get fixed overnight & it's never linear - there's always progress & sometimes a couple of steps back. It's casual fans who only see the negative side of him because tennistv & other media choose to showcase the bad moments only so they can go viral & incite h@tred towards him - it gets them more views & engagement.
Rublev winning is not worth fans watching in this fashion. He smashes his raquet (again) at the end of set 1 and (if you watch the full game) had many outbursts. This needs to be officially addressed. I also love routing against sonego just because he has an annoying grunt.
