Spot on! When we was kids there was always at least one other mate that would listen to music with sometimes more especially if they had older siblings. Other times were when cruising and listening to a self made cassette of a latest album. Sadly, nowadays it’s solo. Happy Listening
Holy! The guy with the Grimm ($$$$).... and that Swedish preamp ($$$$$) is in the many 10s of Ks. THAT is a great system in a room of needing treating. Great systems all the way round!
@@petekutheis3822 hi, soulution is a swiss brand ;-) as said in my main comment, it was my newbie smartphone recording. Room is fine, doing this hobby some centuries now 😉 BTW: I NEVER BUY NEW, we do have some interesting highend hifi Broker here in Germany, where I buy those equipment much cheaper 😉 yes, i'm fortune to spent some money on hifi!
Hey, thanks for showing my system (Sonus Faber speakers and Michell turntable) I didn’t show my LP storage as it isn’t pretty, but I am thankful that I didn’t sell any from when I started collecting in the early 1970s. I quite like the look of the Gold Note phono stages, but I guess I need to do some serious listening to decide what to replace the PhonoBox with.
@@anadialogI forgot to mention in the video that the guitar on the sofa is Greg Lake’s tour guitar from the 1977 ELP world tour. Just in case any of your viewers are guitar nerds like me 😊
The Mission 774 is one of the better arms I like and use........sounds amazing with the feeling that the artist sings in the room ( with body presence and not only the mouth or lips) and the tonality of materials/instruments is realy close to the real thing . Looks like a lot of people have their speaker CLOSE to the wall and or close to a corner... Mac is indeed roomfilling .........creating a world of sound and music in a world were the speakers live ..... Going full digital is a modern and personal choice............but to me god gave me analog ears............for the soul to connect to Music.......and a brain to listen to ( impressive ) audiophile sounds........so that's why I and others have multiple systems ..........for pure music I do listen to a system that let me forget the system ...and forget to analyze the ( high end ) performance like many audiophiles still do ... Nice to discover the sytems of other people.............thanks.
I couldn't make a video showing my setup, because it's a very basic, budget setup. I like it though and I hope one day to have a very good setup like the people in these videos who serve as my inspiration.
Hi Guido, I'm the guy with ELACs.. yes, my recording Ssound terrible, because was using my new smartphone. Don't know why i had this extreme hall-effect. So the room is fine, do have carpents, Couch behind it. Sure, it could be treateed more, but Sound is quite impressive in the room 😊
@@anadialog thanks a lot, also uploaded my 2nd listening room., the complete opposite way 😉 going from analytic/highly-detailed (love it as well) to the romantic side of audiophile 😉
@@labalo5 no, but not a big Fan of Playback Design and there is a reason you rarely see it here in Europe 😉 Also pricewise not acceptable, as I have compared a lot and my ultra-hifi budget for DACs ends by €20k. Everything above, sorry no more technical reasons, just brand and materials no one needs (yes, listened to Dcs, MSB stack and Aries Cerat)
The owner of the second system (who, like me, lives in Hamburg) should have mentioned whether the Swoboda SONY CD player analog output sounds better than an SPDIF connection to the Grimm MU2 from a "normal cheap" CD player. With perfect clock recovery, the Grimm MU2 should know how fast the quartz in the CD player is after one minute.
@@TTVEaGMXde analogue is the better choice, because i've now the Sony XA50ES latest Swoboda full modification from their latest 2023 Mod (the video is older) and the have perfected the analogue/digital section. Would never use Toslink or SPDIF to the Grimm, because the synergy is within the modification and not reclocking to external DAC.
@@gerihifi As a TV Engineer I don't think much of CD players, as there is no new KSS-273B laser units. That's why I'm more of a "server" fan. But I understand that you prefer the CD player in terms of sound, even though the Grimm isn't really cheap.
Although I find analog sourced music essential to my listening experience which is on a daily basis, having to get up and down to change the side or remove the vinyl recording can be a pain in the rear end. Now that digital is getting closer to a true musical sensation, most of my listening is CD and I try to cherry pick what I listen to because recording quality is everything with a system like mine and I stream on Qobuz which can actually be enjoyable and give me a sense of flow. It took me 15 years to buy my first CD player (Wadia) after their introduction so you can guess how horrified I looked every time I listened to these new and improved players for years only to run out of a salon with my hands over my ears. I enjoy the system synergy that I get now without going into my amplification chain and speakers because I just wanted to discuss the analog versus digital issue.
If you feel you are in the right spot, it is! Congrats for that. I am sure you are truly enjoying your music and surprised that you have been commenting for so long on my analog channel even though it true that I treat a little bit of everything and I also love a well recorded/mastered CD!
