They both sound very good. I think the vinyl sounded fuller. But over TH-cam I'd take that with a vault of salt.

CD as so often just has no fundamental body, the turntable brings it to another level, but isn‘t my choice either, by what the speakers show. Both are equally out of my choices, clearly. It‘s likely the speakers that doesn‘t really transport the differences enough. I don‘t like the amp either, but I know that this isn‘t the amp‘s fault, that‘s proven to give enough magic to any input and sends it over to the speakers.

Sounds more vibrant on vinyl, surprisingly. More treble and airy. I'd like to know if they were volume level matched.

I think the difference which in this system has positive impact on sound and may come from pickup not from LP. quality. Anyway it is for me advantage of turntable that it gives opportunity to make slight alignment by choosing best for owned system pickup. .In fact I would expect opposite - that digital would be better articulated but onlu in sopranos. I have four pickups different shapes to my Bang Olufsen turntable each with different specific it makes just about such differences - the best is full contact and sounds most smooth with best perspective .

Is the Vinyl the new 45 RPM from Analogue Productions Mastered from the original analog tapes by Bernie Grundman? Is your CD SACD? The Analogue Productions 45 RPM Aaron Neville is sublime in vocals, instruments and soundstage. I voice like Aaron's deserves the warmth of tubes and vinyl.

Good speakers and amplification is everything. Even TH-cam can sound spectacular with the right DAC. Vinyl sounds better some of the time because of the equalization, but that's before wear and tear creates surface noise. The CD will sound the same every time and won't easily wear out unless you have childish vandals handling them. If all you do is listen to 2 channel audio a sonic equalizer is a good investment.

Another senseless "Apple with Pear" comparison!! Of course there is a difference, always!!!! It starts with different mixing and mastering although the same source material would be used! Every step after that is different, different materials, different equipment and so on!! Who can judge that the quality of a digital equipment is the same as the analog counterpart??? Plse stop those BS comparisons! Sheer clickbait!!

I do not think in theory you are right in practice you should not make such notices - too many instant charges without specification do not provide any real input .
I have very fine aligned system which unveils "everything" .I also made such comparisons just by curiosity. Anyway outcome from my experiments is that both are extremly simmilar - much more than I could observe here. May be because I use different material - original records issued 50 years ago and their CD versions reedited later. This way it is not parallel production of two mediums which may be eventualy mastered separately but one is reproduced copy of another.
