Finally it's here! We talk about the possible connections between Infinite and our Custom Hero. Is Infinite actually the dark version of our custom hero?
I'm aware and still believe this theory to be a possibility. One thing I'm sure is that the custom character will learn more about themselves and possibly unlock this true potential I suggest.
Mr. Crypt not really it could be a usual "hidden potential than you realize" type of character we make as we start OUR adventure to find it most of the other cast easily is normal.
So Lyoko Gem: When Sonic does the Super-Peel Out, his legs make an Infinity sign. The Tail/Ears could ACTUALLY be a distorted version of a hedgehog tail/ears. The Mask, with it's fox shaped design, could be a tribute/reference to a dead comrade(Tails). The Infinite insignia looks like it could be a domino mask that could fit the same exact facial/eye positioning of Sonic's face. *which would be meta since both the insignia/mask are part of Infinite* The gem on the chest? Remember the blackened chaos emeralds during Sonic Adventure after Chaos became Perfect Chaos? And faster than Sonic. Barring gameplay/non in lore demonstrations, usually nobody is ever FASTER than Sonic. *Or maybe Infinite recognizes a certain some one's muscle memory since he knows it all too well.*
(Long analysis)Ok here's my theory on the lyrics of the sample main theme "Fist Bump" few things before I start: 1. This is a theory NOT a fact 2. I'm positive the Avatar concept isn't gonna be one and done. 3. The lyrics are NOT the full ones and more will be revealed on launch or early leaks. 4. It's obvious Classic Sonic will return to his dimension at the end but this Analysis is for the Avatar, Modern Sonic and Infinite again theory. 5. Still believe our Avatar will get a super form of some kind. Here we go: “I can’t do this alone Even though I am strong Need something more than me Someone to push me to victory” Sonic knows he can’t defeat Eggman, so he assembles a resistance. The part that interests me the most is “Someone to push me to victory”. Kinda sounds like he’s lacking hope, which would be pretty out of character of him but they are going a different tone in this game and leans toward our Avatar being that "someone to push him" “Let’s see what we can do Together me and you Can’t be afraid to try Kiss your fears goodbye” “No looking back You and I, we’re on the attack Full speed ahead Running to the sunset” Sonic teams up with our Avatar and motivates them. Considering Park Avenue’s lyrics being motivational as well. “Such a different feeling Both of us believing We can make it better” Either Sonic has seriously lost hope, or there’s some sort of connection between the Avatar and Sonic. “Together, we can show the world what we can do You are next to me and I’m next to you Pushing on through until the battle’s won” More motivational stuff going on. “No one’s gonna give our fate to us Into each other we put our trust Standing united After the fight” “Into each other” sounds a bit off…but this sounds like hope has been regained. “All alone, we will never be The two of us, are holding the key We see today, a world we couldn’t see” This likely refers to the ending of the game and everything is fine. Key is either metaphorical or a plot device we'll find out about, and “a world we couldn’t see” sounds like things are going back to normal. “Before I say goodbye to you, one last fist bump” Ok now THIS I already see many already took this out of context saying it implies "death of someone" on the official Sonic Channel which again was confirm not happening. So either our Custom Hero leaves at the end of the game, or they are literally A character and the whole “ordinary person” is just a cover up. If we’re going with the “Custom Hero is Infinite/a part of Infinite theory”, this likely refers to them merging with Infinite after his defeat becoming a whole perfect being since "he's" the other half of them and a possible return to OUR actual dimension instead of being from Sonics actual world. A cool nodd Sega can do for the anniversary game IF this is true and our Avatar is from another dimension like CS but never disclose what it is they can imply our Avatar is indeed US from our actual Earth regardless if you are a Guy creating a Female Avatar vice versa they are the embodiment of US and how we see ourselves in the game and Sonic thanks US for helping him would be very symbolic and very nice if true.

I think that you've got a lot of the right ideas here, specifically the emotional connection between Sonic and the custom character and how they pick each other up. And as for the last line, I didn't go to death. However, I didn't think that it could play into the theory. Amazing work, Splatoo!

I like my theory better, where Infinite is the cc from the future, and he comes back through time to fuck shit up and gathers all of sonics greatest villains to kill sonic.
MrKotorX Maybe cuz the future CC unlocked his powers and potenial by accident but wants to give his past self that power early so they'll actually be a hero and knows he can only do that without affecting himself by f**king up just about everything
My theory is that Infinite is actually Mephiles the Dark. I mean, think about it. Just take a sec and look at Infinite's appearance. Does he or does he not low-key remind you of Mephiles? I think, according to my theory, what happened was Eggman must've gone back in time to revive Mephiles. With Mephiles revived, he and Eggman teamed up to gather up one of Sonic's past villains. Shadow the Hedgehog, on the other hand, is on Eggman Empire's side because Eggman and Mephiles probably brainwashed him. As for the mask, Eggman probably created that mask for Mephiles for some reason. Although, here's the plot twist: Eggman was actually being used by Mephiles. So, Mephiles is actually planning on destroying the world himself, along with the help of Sonic's past villains. Because, if you think about it, we might not see Eggman again later on in Sonic Forces. Plus, Mephiles also probably decided to go by a different name - Infinite.
I can see where you're going and while the villain does have resemblance to him, I don't think it's Mephiles. For one, it's a little hard to place Mephiles actual existence. The events of Sonic 06 have been erased and with it, so should've Mephiles, Iblis and in turn Solaris. Not only that but the whole nonsense of a human and animal dimension. Mephiles as a concept since he comes from 06 most likely exists in the human one and since Forces at the moment doesn't have any humans seen it's to be assumed that it takes place in the animal one. How Eggman would come across a power from another dimension is beyond me. And honestly, I just don't know if SEGA would wanna take the risk of referencing 06 in such a direct way. With how the game was received, I don't think they'd take that chance of directly referencing it that way other than as a joke. And if you ask about Lost World, it's split among the fandom and did decently which is why Zavok is present. But idk about Mephiles.
I think it would make more sense if Infinite isn't Mephiles, but related, for example, Infinite could be a re-creation of Mephiles, but like this: Mephiles>Time Eater>Infinite Think about it!
Redz The Ultra-Kard it could be part of a future game where it would be kinda be like the 2nd gameplay in Unleashed and have many endings like Shadow the hedgehog and have sonic fighting him but he can take control of him sometimes at random but it is a pretty good idea for a game
Wow, that was a really great theory! I 100% agree But, I would like to take a different take at your ending. So, Infinite fuses with our character, and becomes Perfect Infinity. The two Sonics decide to go Super and try to free our character. Lending the chaos energy to our character that is now half of Infinite, a total mind break happens. Infinite and our character are fighting each other in one body to take control. Which one will prevail in the mind? Of course, it will be our character, thanks to the chaos energy. Once we take control, Perfect Infinity splits in two and our character comes out as a Super. Infinite, now having nothing else to do, decides to go into his "final form" as a last resort. The two Super Sonics and our Super character then finish off Infinite, and the day is saved. I know that this will not likely happen, but I think it's a much better take on the probable corny ending.

I don't think they are related as the same person but they're from different dimensions that have opposite identical hidden powers (thus the 2 Deltas in the Forces Infinity symbol) Avatar being from Sonics main world. The fact that they are a "crucial element" makes it clear their/we're very important. Also Aaron already confirmed on live stream NOBODY DIES in Forces he obviously knows the story and obviously can't say anything else(I know you didn't say that talking about others that think this) don't see Sega going THAT dark especially for promoting US as one of the Hero/ine of the game plus it'll be another Wisp scenario when it'll be VERY well receive and becomes a staple especially since the massive fan request for 2 decades is one of the main reasons this concept exists in the first place (other characters if Sega choose can still be playable even with this new feature).
I'm not even sure of the relation myself. But I do think it's a possibility and this video is presenting why and if so, how it would come into play. I don't think death is in the cards. I doubt it anyway. We'll have to wait and see how things turn out.
To be honest, I would like the custom character to have voice actors: one male and one female depending on the gender of the character the player chooses. I think it'll be interesting to have voices for this new custom character. I think this may be most likely added to this but also being able to name your character too. But I bet in the story they may not refer to your character by their name but by something like "kid" or "the rookie" or something like that.
The One Gibus Queen I read from other comments that there will be voices for the custom character, and I think there's three voices to choose from each gender. However, the custom character will only grunt.
you guessed it. the custom character is called "the rookie" in the game, but the official and/or most commonly used name is gadget, especcialy for the red wolf
What I gathered from the Infinite Trailer is that at the very least they know each other because our CC is trying to give him a fist bump but Infinite as he was just about to,pulled away his hand.
Your theory works surprisingly with SA1, Big the cat has a connexion with Chaos,his frog Froggy drinks a part of Chaos at the begining of the game 😂😂😂😂

This actually COULD be very possible if you consider him as speaking to the Character (Specificly the chorus especially the line 'I nevr Lie and that's the difference in you and me') then it could be taking as him saying you and him are 2 sides to the same coin. The different being, while he accepts what he is, you run from it. He is what you COULD be if you accepted your true role. He is your power unlocked. Your full potential.
that part about him manipulating others, sounded unbelievably like the very way Mephiles worked in sonic 06, manipulating others, into doing what he wanted, with no care for their future, or outcome. As well with fusing with the custom character. beside all of that, Your theory sounds totally awesome! That and in the new infinite trailer, there is a short clip of infinite standing (actually floating) in front of the custom character. But I love your theory!!!! Its would be AWESOME!!!!
If Infinite is the dark version of the OC then that could lead credence to the theory that events in Forces are the result of Silver traveling back through and helping to stop Mephilies and Solaris in Sonic 06.
I only have one problem and that's with the new enter infinite trailer and his theme song the custom hero is seen trying to give Infinite a fist bump but infinite rejects it. My theory is that Infinite and the custom character are know each other on a level we haven't seen with a sonic villain and hero. Eggman and sonic know each out but it's a hatred for each other. No one knew what chaos was but Eggman, Shadow was locked away so sonic didn't know who he was till eggman set him free, Metal was built by Eggman to kill sonic, and I don't think eggman knew about the Deadly six and just got lucky when he found that magic shell. None of these villains have had a past with sonic till after sonic had to fight against him. Yet the custom hero tries to Fist bump the thing that caused Eggman to win? What if infinite and the custom hero are brothers? Infinite and the custom hero being related by blood would be an very interesting plot twist. The custom hero stays out of the conflict for as long as he can till because he loves his bother and doesn't want to hurt him but eventually he has to pick a side and sides with sonic. It's a theory that doesn't have much to go off of sense all I have really to work with is the one scene that's 3 seconds long of the custom character trying to fist bump infinite.

What if Infinite decided to betray Eggman to rule the world for himself? My theory since when Eggman discovers an ancient creature or teams up with another villian they betray him
Damn i would love that, it would make Infinite more than a tragic anti-villain, and instead turn into a Complete Monster. OR, what if he betrayed and manipulated every character to get him to the top...
StanleyHere TBH it would make a whole lot more sense if that happened in the plot of the story. Not only Eggman isn't powerful enough just like all the previous villains that Sonic faced before.
I also did some looking into Delta and change I found the Avatars themes in their stages have an inspiring tone of wanting change on the current situation so Infinite could be the opposite in ideals.
This is a very nice Speculation. You might be right about the story, though I don't know if Sonic Team will go this route for the story. But, who knows. :)
ocs need to be a one time only thing. Things could get pretty weird (NOT in a good way.) if this becomes a staple like those stupid wisps replacing Sonic's actual friends.
While I agree that OCs shouldn't be a too regular thing, I wouldn't mind it showing up every now and again. Or even creating a set of spinoffs within the Sonic Universe for that sort of thing.
If that were to happen,it'd probably more likely that the character goes "Hmmm,yeah,I think I'll take all of Infinite's power so he's not a threat and so I have no need for a Super Form"
If this is an anniversary celebration they will of course include Chaos Emeralds, hell they might as well add all villians. But all jokes aside. But think about from what we've seen we've seen to much 'Super Sonic' Bull crap and yes it might be epic but it's the same exact thing over and over again and Infinite looks quite powerful so what if Hyper form would actually happen because Infinite looks powerful as shit so I wouldn't be surprised to see Hyper form. But then again Chaos is in the game and Hyper is activated by the chant all seven emeralds and the 'Master Emerald'.
I really think that's just a coincidence. I sincerely doubt that SEGA would make that happen on purpose. I mean think about it, the super peel-out happened in Sonic CD (1993). I don't really think they would have thought about Forces back then. There's a 23 year gap. (The super peel-out is when sonic runs with his legs like that infinite logo.)

My thoery is that Infinite has the power to control time. He will probably pull in Bosses throughout the story from different Sonic games. We got 6 of them(Eggman,Zavok,M. Sonic, Shadow,Chaos, and Infinite), next we might get bosses like Mephiles or Dark Gaia, or even Lyric. And to add to my previous thoery, Infinite will pull us into different timelines to fight Those bosses(like green hill).
i have a Theory what if those cubes give infinite the power to time travel and travel through dimensions and the custom character does to and the story revolves them trying to fix the past and The custom character brings classic sonic using that ability
Lyoko Gem Another fantastic theory. I like it, but there are few things that can be arguably awkward. Yes they do look similar, bit it's the eyes of Infinite that beg to differ. Not only that but the ears are drastically different in size and the idea that they are supposed to be two opposing forces that are balanced is also weird since there would need to be alot of potential tapping for that to come to be. I love this theory though. It's great, just like the last one. I believe that Infinite is similar to Mephilis in the terms of wanting the Custom Hero for a particular reason, but instead is doing what Mephilis tried to do to Shadow, convert him to his side and when Custom Hero decides to continue fighting against him, he, overall seeing how stubborn Custom Hero is, annhilates him. Possibly Infinite may sacrifice the All-Star Villains and Zavok as pawns. Such in the sense he puts the Sonics and Custom Hero in Battle Stasis with whichever All-Star Villain of his choosing, to the point where it is either permanently immobolize the villain or just sacrifice themself for the greater good. Like if they're all fighting against Chaos and Metal while Infinite constantly changes the Battle Conditions to where it is nearly impossible for the Sonics and Custom Hero to continue to hold back, so instead of immobilization, Classic Sonic decides "don't worry I can handle them" and lets Modern and Custom Hero move on, similar to how Naruto's friends fought one on one with those ninja preventing Naruto from getting to Sasuke. I love your theories. I can't wait to see another one. Keep up the great work.
Thanks. I have to say your right about the ears and all, but the idea that it might be a Dark and Light Gaia sort of deal I still hold onto. Whether or not it'll come to light, idk. But that's all the fun of making theories! You're never too sure as to what you'll get. With that being said, I think it would be really interesting if Infinite was after the custom hero the same way Mephiles was after Shadow and that would make for a pretty awesome plot. But still raises the question as to why he's interested in our custom character. Infinite's such a fun concept though and I'm just curious as to where they take him. I feel as if we are missing the fact that Eggman was in classic sonics dimension. maybe infinite isnt alive. what if hes a robot, built to destroy the custom character? (Ima call the cc Buddy) And chaos? whats he doing here? If the master emerald broke, then surely Tikal would be back. There is so many theories. And we have literally based them on no information. I, personally think that maybe using the chaos emeralds to save the day is cool and all, but surely egghead has learnt his lesson now. Trin Draws Hmmm this is true, although I'm not sure how that particularly factors into it aside from alluding to Infinite's dimensional capabilities. However, I never thought of Infinite being a robot. With how things are in Sonic's universe. It's entirely possible. As for Chaos. Honestly, I can't come up with another theory other than "The Master Emerald is broken again." But I do think Tikal will be present. As for theories being based on nearly nothing. Trust me, I know. This is a 13 minute video based on a tail, and a five second animation of a symbol. We really are in the dark, but I believed in this theory and decided to shoot for the moon. Go big or go home with theories is the best way in my opinion. But I'm glad that you enjoyed this theory and I definitely want to see that fan art when you're done. you got a point almost in every sonic game sonic and "friends" always win it would be a huge twist if they lose it will be a bigger twist if you are infinite from a corrupted world different from our favorite characters world so what im saying is everytime you die or lose to a boss fight in sonic forces that world get taken over not by infinite but yourself so when you die in your world you become you but corrupted That's my theory i hope you like it and good bye
eh.....I don't see Sega going this deep in the story they really don't no matter how you look into it especially when the character is YOU also I don't see US sacrificing ourselves either some here are saying lol this like someone says is a cash cow that I don't see tossing away if anything Infinite is just a regular monster of the week and people are looking way too hard into this than they should not saying our character being connected isn't possible but the end result of it.
I didn't say we'd sacrifice ourselves. If anything, I feel like we just lose the battle and Infinite kinda absorbs us before Super Sonics come in to save the day. Probably right that we're looking too far into it, but personally with the Japanese writers doing the script/plot and Pontac and Graff only translating, I'll admit that I've got higher hopes on the plot than I did for the likes of Lost World and Generations. But I do think that Infinite is more than a monster of the week, regardless.

I'd be on board if this theory turned out to be true, though I believe that the end result will be that your custom character has to sacrifice themselves in some way - either literally or by becoming the dominant half of the fused form - in order to defeat Infinite. This would let the story be self-contained, so the necessity of a custom character isn't needed for future games, and lead into a final one-on-one battle within Infinite after he's weakened by both Super Sonics - that's how I see SEGA ending this game.
Liana Verwood Aaron already confirm no one dies in Forces during a livestream and he obviously knows the story plus this theory video could be wrong entirely.

Dude maybe they r from a parallel universe and sonic wasn't in that universe but the custom hero was so infinite was the custom hero's rival and when infinite went into sonic's universe the custom hero followed but that's just a theory a GAM- ok I'll stop But I kinda see a connection between these two characters
Ok so the custom hero and infinite are in a different universe that sonic doesn't exist but the custom hero is there to be the counterpart to infinite and when infinite found sonics universe he made a portal to travel to sonics universe and when infinite went the custom hero followed and met up with sonic and friends while infinite went back in time (that's how I'm thinking it) and brought back chaos and zavok while he took control of metal sonic and made a deal with shadow to bring back Maria so that's why shadow is evil again and they together(along with eggman) destroyed the world which is why the game is happening. Sorry if that's not enough for u dude.
Kinda think the entire "Classic Sonic and Custom Character/Buddy, Infinite is from a separate dimension" Idea works good for me. It seem's really likely as- why else would the 2 look surprisingly similar? They can follow the same things past title's did.
I have a theory about an alternative ending to the game. Classic sonic is trapped in a dark dimension where infinite could originate from, your custom character dies. It's now just modern sonic left, but as you progress through the alternative pathways to get the alternative ending, sonic becomes insane and violent along with his attacks and abilities. Rage would also play a part in the game which would increase the speed of the abilities and Sonics speed alone. And now for the part which everyone is going to hate me for..... In the final battle with infinite, Sonic is enraged and is violent and dark towards infinite. You battle him for at least a half-hour and take the last blow. The cut scene will show sonic then being kicked to the ground as infinite taunts him. Then Sonic screams in anger, fear, hatred, and the sense of his insanity, uses the dark energy from the chaos emeralds (which would make him dark sonic but because sonic has lost his sanity this form is different), and then uses the darkness within him along with the dark power you collected from the other parts of the alternative paths and then lastly, It might be SEGA's take on....... SONIC.EXE! He then kills everyone including infinite and takes his power and coverts it to his own. THE END YAH! everyone now hates me for this theory!!! XD
Hmm, I think your observations of similarities between their designs is a stretch, particularly given the fact that the custom hero's species will vary. Some of your thoughts on the symbol seem plausible, others seem like a reach. I'll acknowledge that new characters being connected to new villains is a recurring thing in Sonic games, so it's possible they'll be connected. Personally, I think it'd be better if they leave the custom hero's backstory vague, so people can better project their own history onto them. I wouldn't want them to rehash the Dark and Light Gaia split either.
What I think is that infinite was the prototype ultimate life form because biolizard can't be original ultimate life form biolizard is just provesser robotinks mind in a giant lizard

Just a few things: 1. As a matter of fact, the Avatar _is_ a rookie -- this is mentioned in the Custom Hero Gameplay video on the Sonic the Hedgehog channel. While Ouroboros _can_ be represented by the symbol of infinity, the Serpent is more often represented by a circle. This dates to the serpent motifs of the Ancient Egyptians, representing a snake eating its own tail. 2a. The symbol we use for infinity was first adopted by mathematician John Wallis. Unfortunately, he never explained where it was from or why he used it. The best guess is that it's a condensed form of one of the Roman numerals for 1000, CIƆ, or perhaps a variant of the Greek letter Omega. 3. The Avatar doesn't have special powers, sorry. The wisp powers are contained and controlled by the Wispon (wisp-weapon) on their arm, allowing them to use the color powers of the wisps (a la _Sonic Colors_) without having to physically contain a wisp inside their body. By comparison, Infinite is very definitely _not_ using a Wispon, but _is_ using a variation of the blue wisp's Cube power when it attacks. (It may have come into contact with a Nega-Wisp.) Which creates an interesting question: Is this the reason the Avatar has the wispon? To avoid coming into contact with a Nega-Wisp as Infinite did? And if so, how _are_ the two of them related?
1. I don't know, the Chemical Plant referred to in the level could possibly be the actual factory in the level. At first, I thought it was Chemical Plant Zone. But at the mention of them keeping the multi legged battle mech away from it and going wild and making a distraction so that they could keep it away from the Chemical Plant that is actually there. It could actually be Chemical Plant Zone but I think it might just be the one in the level. 2. During my research I found quite a bit of relationship between Ouroboros and the infinity symbol so I went with that. 3. I'm referring from a plot perspective. Imagine this happening in cutscenes and the confrontation between Infinite and the custom character as like a Super Sonic boss fight. Interesting, but idk. I mean from what is seen on what we think is the cover art for Sonic Forces, it looks like the custom character is wielding a Nega Wispon.

One major problem: the custom character was confirmed to be just a regular denizen of Sonic's world that got caught up in the conflict.
I'm aware and still believe this theory to be a possibility.

The Mask, with it's fox shaped design, could be a tribute/reference to a dead comrade(Tails). The Infinite insignia looks like it could be a domino mask that could fit the same exact facial/eye positioning of Sonic's face. *which would be meta since both the insignia/mask are part of Infinite* The gem on the chest? Remember the blackened chaos emeralds during Sonic Adventure after Chaos became Perfect Chaos?
And faster than Sonic. Barring gameplay/non in lore demonstrations, usually nobody is ever FASTER than Sonic. *Or maybe Infinite recognizes a certain some one's muscle memory since he knows it all too well.*

(Long analysis)Ok here's my theory on the lyrics of the sample main theme "Fist Bump" few things before I start:
1. This is a theory NOT a fact
2. I'm positive the Avatar concept isn't gonna be one and done.
3. The lyrics are NOT the full ones and more will be revealed on launch or early leaks.
4. It's obvious Classic Sonic will return to his dimension at the end but this Analysis is for the Avatar, Modern Sonic and Infinite again theory.
5. Still believe our Avatar will get a super form of some kind.
Here we go:

Sonic knows he can’t defeat Eggman, so he assembles a resistance. The part that interests me the most is “Someone to push me to victory”. Kinda sounds like he’s lacking hope, which would be pretty out of character of him but they are going a different tone in this game and leans toward our Avatar being that "someone to push him"

This likely refers to the ending of the game and everything is fine. Key is either metaphorical or a plot device we'll find out about, and “a world we couldn’t see” sounds like things are going back to normal.

Ok now THIS I already see many already took this out of context saying it implies "death of someone" on the official Sonic Channel which again was confirm not happening. So either our Custom Hero leaves at the end of the game, or they are literally A character and the whole “ordinary person” is just a cover up.
If we’re going with the “Custom Hero is Infinite/a part of Infinite theory”, this likely refers to them merging with Infinite after his defeat becoming a whole perfect being since "he's" the other half of them and a possible return to OUR actual dimension instead of being from Sonics actual world. A cool nodd Sega can do for the anniversary game IF this is true and our Avatar is from another dimension like CS but never disclose what it is they can imply our Avatar is indeed US from our actual Earth regardless if you are a Guy creating a Female Avatar vice versa they are the embodiment of US and how we see ourselves in the game and Sonic thanks US for helping him would be very symbolic and very nice if true.

My theory is that Infinite is actually Mephiles the Dark. I mean, think about it. Just take a sec and look at Infinite's appearance. Does he or does he not low-key remind you of Mephiles?
I think, according to my theory, what happened was Eggman must've gone back in time to revive Mephiles. With Mephiles revived, he and Eggman teamed up to gather up one of Sonic's past villains. Shadow the Hedgehog, on the other hand, is on Eggman Empire's side because Eggman and Mephiles probably brainwashed him. As for the mask, Eggman probably created that mask for Mephiles for some reason.
Although, here's the plot twist: Eggman was actually being used by Mephiles. So, Mephiles is actually planning on destroying the world himself, along with the help of Sonic's past villains. Because, if you think about it, we might not see Eggman again later on in Sonic Forces. Plus, Mephiles also probably decided to go by a different name - Infinite.
I can see where you're going and while the villain does have resemblance to him, I don't think it's Mephiles.
For one, it's a little hard to place Mephiles actual existence. The events of Sonic 06 have been erased and with it, so should've Mephiles, Iblis and in turn Solaris.
Not only that but the whole nonsense of a human and animal dimension. Mephiles as a concept since he comes from 06 most likely exists in the human one and since Forces at the moment doesn't have any humans seen it's to be assumed that it takes place in the animal one. How Eggman would come across a power from another dimension is beyond me.
And honestly, I just don't know if SEGA would wanna take the risk of referencing 06 in such a direct way. With how the game was received, I don't think they'd take that chance of directly referencing it that way other than as a joke.
And if you ask about Lost World, it's split among the fandom and did decently which is why Zavok is present.
But idk about Mephiles.
I think it would make more sense if Infinite isn't Mephiles, but related, for example, Infinite could be a re-creation of Mephiles, but like this:

But, I would like to take a different take at your ending. So, Infinite fuses with our character, and becomes Perfect Infinity. The two Sonics decide to go Super and try to free our character. Lending the chaos energy to our character that is now half of Infinite, a total mind break happens. Infinite and our character are fighting each other in one body to take control. Which one will prevail in the mind? Of course, it will be our character, thanks to the chaos energy. Once we take control, Perfect Infinity splits in two and our character comes out as a Super. Infinite, now having nothing else to do, decides to go into his "final form" as a last resort. The two Super Sonics and our Super character then finish off Infinite, and the day is saved.
I know that this will not likely happen, but I think it's a much better take on the probable corny ending.

I don't think they are related as the same person but they're from different dimensions that have opposite identical hidden powers (thus the 2 Deltas in the Forces Infinity symbol) Avatar being from Sonics main world. The fact that they are a "crucial element" makes it clear their/we're very important. Also Aaron already confirmed on live stream NOBODY DIES in Forces he obviously knows the story and obviously can't say anything else(I know you didn't say that talking about others that think this) don't see Sega going THAT dark especially for promoting US as one of the Hero/ine of the game plus it'll be another Wisp scenario when it'll be VERY well receive and becomes a staple especially since the massive fan request for 2 decades is one of the main reasons this concept exists in the first place (other characters if Sega choose can still be playable even with this new feature).
I'm not even sure of the relation myself. But I do think it's a possibility and this video is presenting why and if so, how it would come into play.

To be honest, I would like the custom character to have voice actors: one male and one female depending on the gender of the character the player chooses. I think it'll be interesting to have voices for this new custom character. I think this may be most likely added to this but also being able to name your character too. But I bet in the story they may not refer to your character by their name but by something like "kid" or "the rookie" or something like that.

If Infinite is the dark version of the OC then that could lead credence to the theory that events in Forces are the result of Silver traveling back through and helping to stop Mephilies and Solaris in Sonic 06.
I only have one problem and that's with the new enter infinite trailer and his theme song the custom hero is seen trying to give Infinite a fist bump but infinite rejects it. My theory is that Infinite and the custom character are know each other on a level we haven't seen with a sonic villain and hero. Eggman and sonic know each out but it's a hatred for each other. No one knew what chaos was but Eggman, Shadow was locked away so sonic didn't know who he was till eggman set him free, Metal was built by Eggman to kill sonic, and I don't think eggman knew about the Deadly six and just got lucky when he found that magic shell. None of these villains have had a past with sonic till after sonic had to fight against him. Yet the custom hero tries to Fist bump the thing that caused Eggman to win? What if infinite and the custom hero are brothers? Infinite and the custom hero being related by blood would be an very interesting plot twist. The custom hero stays out of the conflict for as long as he can till because he loves his bother and doesn't want to hurt him but eventually he has to pick a side and sides with sonic. It's a theory that doesn't have much to go off of sense all I have really to work with is the one scene that's 3 seconds long of the custom character trying to fist bump infinite.

Lyoko Gem Another fantastic theory. I like it, but there are few things that can be arguably awkward. Yes they do look similar, bit it's the eyes of Infinite that beg to differ. Not only that but the ears are drastically different in size and the idea that they are supposed to be two opposing forces that are balanced is also weird since there would need to be alot of potential tapping for that to come to be. I love this theory though. It's great, just like the last one. I believe that Infinite is similar to Mephilis in the terms of wanting the Custom Hero for a particular reason, but instead is doing what Mephilis tried to do to Shadow, convert him to his side and when Custom Hero decides to continue fighting against him, he, overall seeing how stubborn Custom Hero is, annhilates him. Possibly Infinite may sacrifice the All-Star Villains and Zavok as pawns. Such in the sense he puts the Sonics and Custom Hero in Battle Stasis with whichever All-Star Villain of his choosing, to the point where it is either permanently immobolize the villain or just sacrifice themself for the greater good. Like if they're all fighting against Chaos and Metal while Infinite constantly changes the Battle Conditions to where it is nearly impossible for the Sonics and Custom Hero to continue to hold back, so instead of immobilization, Classic Sonic decides "don't worry I can handle them" and lets Modern and Custom Hero move on, similar to how Naruto's friends fought one on one with those ninja preventing Naruto from getting to Sasuke. I love your theories. I can't wait to see another one. Keep up the great work.

I have to say your right about the ears and all, but the idea that it might be a Dark and Light Gaia sort of deal I still hold onto. Whether or not it'll come to light, idk. But that's all the fun of making theories! You're never too sure as to what you'll get.
With that being said, I think it would be really interesting if Infinite was after the custom hero the same way Mephiles was after Shadow and that would make for a pretty awesome plot. But still raises the question as to why he's interested in our custom character.
Infinite's such a fun concept though and I'm just curious as to where they take him.

Trin Draws Hmmm this is true, although I'm not sure how that particularly factors into it aside from alluding to Infinite's dimensional capabilities.
However, I never thought of Infinite being a robot. With how things are in Sonic's universe. It's entirely possible.
As for Chaos. Honestly, I can't come up with another theory other than "The Master Emerald is broken again." But I do think Tikal will be present.
As for theories being based on nearly nothing. Trust me, I know. This is a 13 minute video based on a tail, and a five second animation of a symbol. We really are in the dark, but I believed in this theory and decided to shoot for the moon. Go big or go home with theories is the best way in my opinion.

eh.....I don't see Sega going this deep in the story they really don't no matter how you look into it especially when the character is YOU also I don't see US sacrificing ourselves either some here are saying lol this like someone says is a cash cow that I don't see tossing away if anything Infinite is just a regular monster of the week and people are looking way too hard into this than they should not saying our character being connected isn't possible but the end result of it.

Probably right that we're looking too far into it, but personally with the Japanese writers doing the script/plot and Pontac and Graff only translating, I'll admit that I've got higher hopes on the plot than I did for the likes of Lost World and Generations.

I'd be on board if this theory turned out to be true, though I believe that the end result will be that your custom character has to sacrifice themselves in some way - either literally or by becoming the dominant half of the fused form - in order to defeat Infinite. This would let the story be self-contained, so the necessity of a custom character isn't needed for future games, and lead into a final one-on-one battle within Infinite after he's weakened by both Super Sonics - that's how I see SEGA ending this game.

Ok so the custom hero and infinite are in a different universe that sonic doesn't exist but the custom hero is there to be the counterpart to infinite and when infinite found sonics universe he made a portal to travel to sonics universe and when infinite went the custom hero followed and met up with sonic and friends while infinite went back in time (that's how I'm thinking it) and brought back chaos and zavok while he took control of metal sonic and made a deal with shadow to bring back Maria so that's why shadow is evil again and they together(along with eggman) destroyed the world which is why the game is happening.

Kinda think the entire "Classic Sonic and Custom Character/Buddy, Infinite is from a separate dimension" Idea works good for me. It seem's really likely as- why else would the 2 look surprisingly similar? They can follow the same things past title's did.

I have a theory about an alternative ending to the game. Classic sonic is trapped in a dark dimension where infinite could originate from, your custom character dies. It's now just modern sonic left, but as you progress through the alternative pathways to get the alternative ending, sonic becomes insane and violent along with his attacks and abilities. Rage would also play a part in the game which would increase the speed of the abilities and Sonics speed alone. And now for the part which everyone is going to hate me for..... In the final battle with infinite, Sonic is enraged and is violent and dark towards infinite. You battle him for at least a half-hour and take the last blow. The cut scene will show sonic then being kicked to the ground as infinite taunts him. Then Sonic screams in anger, fear, hatred, and the sense of his insanity, uses the dark energy from the chaos emeralds (which would make him dark sonic but because sonic has lost his sanity this form is different), and then uses the darkness within him along with the dark power you collected from the other parts of the alternative paths and then lastly, It might be SEGA's take on....... SONIC.EXE! He then kills everyone including infinite and takes his power and coverts it to his own. THE END
YAH! everyone now hates me for this theory!!! XD
I think that Infinite is going to keep his CGI design and that our custom character represents the creative spirit of their final form.
I think Infinite works for Robotnik and Infinite is meant to be his own Project Shadow.

Hmm, I think your observations of similarities between their designs is a stretch, particularly given the fact that the custom hero's species will vary. Some of your thoughts on the symbol seem plausible, others seem like a reach.
I'll acknowledge that new characters being connected to new villains is a recurring thing in Sonic games, so it's possible they'll be connected. Personally, I think it'd be better if they leave the custom hero's backstory vague, so people can better project their own history onto them. I wouldn't want them to rehash the Dark and Light Gaia split either.

Just a few things:
1. As a matter of fact, the Avatar _is_ a rookie -- this is mentioned in the Custom Hero Gameplay video on the Sonic the Hedgehog channel. While most of the Resistance is off at Chemical Plant Zone, the Avatar is sent elsewhere to create a distraction.
2. While Ouroboros _can_ be represented by the symbol of infinity, the Serpent is more often represented by a circle. This dates to the serpent motifs of the Ancient Egyptians, representing a snake eating its own tail.
2a. The symbol we use for infinity was first adopted by mathematician John Wallis. Unfortunately, he never explained where it was from or why he used it. The best guess is that it's a condensed form of one of the Roman numerals for 1000, CIƆ, or perhaps a variant of the Greek letter Omega.
3. The Avatar doesn't have special powers, sorry. The wisp powers are contained and controlled by the Wispon (wisp-weapon) on their arm, allowing them to use the color powers of the wisps (a la _Sonic Colors_) without having to physically contain a wisp inside their body. By comparison, Infinite is very definitely _not_ using a Wispon, but _is_ using a variation of the blue wisp's Cube power when it attacks. (It may have come into contact with a Nega-Wisp.)
Which creates an interesting question: Is this the reason the Avatar has the wispon? To avoid coming into contact with a Nega-Wisp as Infinite did? And if so, how _are_ the two of them related?
1. I don't know, the Chemical Plant referred to in the level could possibly be the actual factory in the level. At first, I thought it was Chemical Plant Zone. But at the mention of them keeping the multi legged battle mech away from it and going wild and making a distraction so that they could keep it away from the Chemical Plant that is actually there. It could actually be Chemical Plant Zone but I think it might just be the one in the level.
2. During my research I found quite a bit of relationship between Ouroboros and the infinity symbol so I went with that.
3. I'm referring from a plot perspective. Imagine this happening in cutscenes and the confrontation between Infinite and the custom character as like a Super Sonic boss fight.
Interesting, but idk. I mean from what is seen on what we think is the cover art for Sonic Forces, it looks like the custom character is wielding a Nega Wispon.

Personally, I consider it likely that the Avatar will realize that, once the timeline is restored, he'll have never been a hero at all. Of course, if he's at all worthy of the title, he'll make the sacrifice anyway, but still...
