I was at this show on Saturday it was slow. I heard the Monster in Indy was pretty busy. I believe this was the first time the Chicago sports spectacular did a summer time show. The fall show was much bigger.
Tough show, it’s a buyers market. The only sports cards I’ve been able to sell for profit are Luka, Tatum and Curry. Only because I bought most of them cheap before 2020. I haven’t bought much sports cards of late (unless it’s a no brainer deal, for example bought a 2nd year Curry auto last week for $630). I have been slowly putting more money in stocks than cards of late. I figure stocks will bounce back first then cards will follow.
Smart play, I picked up a Micky Mouse “The King” Kingdom hearts Japanese refractor about 2 years ago, a dead TCG but with it being limited release in Japanese & Disney I couldn’t go wrong. Love little finds like that. Great job.

Collectors and investors spend most of their $ on buying boxes. They can be over $500 a box. Not much left to buy cards. More interest in lottery aspect of breaking than anything else. Wait till they find out that there is not much interest in those wonderful pulls. Only top 5% of the best of the best will be easily saleable. BTW: bought my first packs in '57. 5 cents a pack!

I always wondered why people say rookie cards when the card isn’t a sport card. I think people should just say 1st instead. For example is my baby photos my rookie photo 😂
