DFI LANParty boards were all I used for years and years. I really miss the classics man, I miss XFX too. XFX NVIDIA cards were always my go-to for any GPU's.
I had a DFI Lanparty UT SLI-DR Expert, it's crazy to look back on that board and see how lacking the VRM cooling was. I was heartbroke when DFI went under, that board was unrivaled. Paired with a cherry picked Opteron 170 CCBWE that did 3.2GHz and cherry picked OCZ Gold 2x1GB which did 294MHz 3-4-4-8 @ 3.2V and SLI 7900GS. No other 939 board could touch what DFI was doing.
I still have my trusty 9600k. It's still an absolute beast. I pretty much won the silicone lotterty. I have it clocked to 5.1ghz at 1.300v. It can manage 5.2ghz at around 1.340v but tends to overheat since I'm not using a 360 AIO but a Noctua DH-14 and at 5.2ghz it reaches some dangerously high temps when stressing the CPU. Thinking of buying a 360 AIO because I want to buy the 12600k when it releases (if it's as good as people are saying).
IsakH85 This. It’s hilarious that Intel thinks that the people that know about the process of CPU manufacturing wouldn’t be smart enough to know that a guaranteed ‘lottery winner’ means that every new 9900K is now a binned 9900KS. lol
Great stream. Crack 6 next time. Try widening the holes on the LN2 pot to make the fitment work with the incorrect socket. You should be able to get enough slip to fit the threaded rod without going too off angle.
Dunno if I just have a very good 9900K or what. People are saying left and right that 4.8k GHz and over on all cores is a furnace on the 9900K... I can do 4.9GHz on all cores with a Noctua NH-D15.. so aircooled. Haven't tried 5.0GHz. I doubt I could do it. I ran a continuous torture test on the 4.9GHz all core OC for 24 hours. It was stable, with the highest temp on a core being 85 degrees. Then I used it for a week. Played different games and used it for different operations like CAD, encoding and decrypting. Still stable. I proceeded to settle for 4.8GHz on all cores because the revving fans were stressing me out, but if you really need that extra performance on a proper air cooler, it's there.
Dear Steve/GN, I kindly need to ask you that with this OC vids it would be highly appreciated if you somewhere in the description or comments add a Link where the Maximum OC was reached.. otherwise I'm clicking through a 3 hours long vid and try to find that Moment, in which I almost all the time fail :) thanks a lot!! Keep Up the fantastic Work!!!
after seeing this video i picked up the z390Dark with 9900ks cpu, adding heatkiller cpu block and their four row radiator the system was stable at 5454ghx - 5.5ghz peak @83C max with 1.35Core Voltage.
I know I'm late to the party, but maybe you could use some high temperature silicone duct kit instead of paste. It sustains a 300°C peak temperature and stays flexible at all times. Not sure for the negative temperatures though,I only deal in heat.
its a great game although it can get a bit long in the tooth during the first two chapters. Played through it on xb1x, downloading on pc as we speak! pc community is gonna go hard on this one lol
Test my LN2 general profile Steve, load it and save & exit at -120. Use -50% instead of disabled vdroop. If you already CB well before -100 you have to load it in 2 steps.
