I honestly think the Mavs might have the deepest roster in the league now. They were already good enough to go to the Finals and now they picked up Marshall, Grimes, Thompson, and Spencer Dinwiddie as well. At some point next season people are going to wake up to how insanely deep this team is.
Ztay you got it a bit backwards. Naji is replacing djj. Klay replaces THj. And Grimes replaces green. Those are the “roles” they switch which are all upgrades.
Klay is going to be a amazing addition on the mavs, and mark my words they are winning the ring this next year. I see klay coming off screens for open shots and being a spot up shooter. The mavs are not going to pass the ball to klay and expect him to create something like the warriors did. I see klay as the heats ray allen on this team. N i think with klay hes feeling energized and feels like he has something to prove this year!

Only reason Mavs had a stagnant offense was because Luka was injured in the postseason, I think we went like 15-5 after the trade deadline when Luka was injured😭😭
Something no one is really talking about is the fact that with more dependable offensive options (both passing and shooting) Luka (theoretically) should have a lower usage rate and that should transfer into an ability to put more energy in on the defensive side of the ball.

Z i 100% feel like they will get back to the finals and also actually win it. Mavs down 0-2 and game 3 Luka fouls out when score was tied fucked that game up for them cuz they won game 4 could’ve been 2-2 going back to Boston but ultimately Boston showed they had been there before. All in all i think these signings along with bringing Spence back they’ll have another shot creater who has thrived next to kyrie and Luka before while also being a good passer. Everybody on the team praying they healthy ofcourse but Mavs have no weaknesses now. Nico amazingly addressed the needs of the team. They’ve gotten a lot better on both ends and it’s going to show once the season gets going. Sidenote: Mavs are under the first apron and have multiple picks they can trade still along with a trade acception. They’re in a great place

Dallas is a snail offensively, they can’t play 5 out teams because of what you said, switching on defense. Luka goes down and so does the team. Klay can’t play defense nor luka so they can’t play small ball and leaving in the shot blockers is a liability on defense. They will not come out of the west next year.

My point is that it clashes with 5 out teams that pull out their bigs. Without their bigs packed in the paint, your on ball defense is exposed. Dallas is limited and that is why they lost to Boston.
