I have Chromecast with Google TV and I like that it after the initial setup of the headphones, it pairs and turns off the TV speakers when I turn them on. When I turn off the headphones, it automatically turns on the tv speakers!
I'm still unable to connect. I was able to connect before, I'm sure it was directly from the dongle to the headphones via bluetooth, with a button push or something on the dongle, but the headphones broke and I can't connect anything else. I don't have Google TV, just the dongle that's connected to the Google Home app, which also doesn't connect or even recognise my headphones.
You might need to factory reset the dongle. It might be "locked" with your old headphones. Typically you do this by pressing and holding the button that's on the dongle until it starts blinking, then double click the button.
Howdy, thank you for the info provided on you video. I wonder if you can help me out with a related problem I am having. I was using my Chromecast with Google TV for about a month now with a pair of Sony WF-1000 XM3 headphones that I had paired with no issue to the Chromecast. There were no probs with sound or connections (it would reconnect automatically every time the headset would come out of its charging base). As of two days ago, however, the connection was lost, the headset has disappeared from the list of paired devices and I have been unable to pair it again - it gets to the point of seeing it as an available device when the headset is in pairing mode but then it cannot pair with it. I have tried restarting the Chromecast, unplugging it from power and 'hard' restarting, but I would prefer not to take it back to factory settings if I can avoid it. I also made sure that the headset is fully charged, and checked that it works fine with other devices. Would appreciate any insights on this issue. Thanking you in advance.
I have one Old Acer Monitor which has 3 different Ports 1. HDMI, 2. VGA, 3. DVI-IN. So I just connected my Chrome Cast to HDMI port and Started casting my Mobile. Here, video output is perfect but I cant here anything from mobile and not even from Desktop as it doesn't have any audio output. so thought of connecting speakers to my mobile to get the audio but unfortunately I'm unable to here anything while casting my mobile screen to my desktop monitor. Please help me out with this as I cannot afford expensive TVs or other new Monitors.
Does your Chromecast have audio output ports for speakers? You can try connecting speakers to your Chromecast. Unfortunately, since you have an old monitor, the HDMI port is not ARC. If it was HDMI ARC, you would be able to get audio.
Did your Bluetooth headphones come with a USB dongle? If so, you can try plugging that into your monitor and see if you have sound. If not, you can try the method starting at 2:09 in this video.
Try checking your PC's sound settings, and make sure that the sound output is not set to the PC's speakers. If you still need help, I recommend contacting Google customer support.
hello, i have a question, how can i not share audio to chromecast? im casting from my pc to a projector with a chromecast stick, how can i chose not to share audio to the chromecast and leave it in my pc? thank you
When you click on "Cast" the dialog box that opens will have a "Sources" option at the bottom. The default setting is usually set to "Cast Tab". Change this to "Cast Screen" and then when you click on the destination device another dialog box will open with a check box option to "Share System Audio". Uncheck this and the audio will continue to play on the PC.
You should be able to, although it will depend on which headphones you have. If your headphones have volume buttons or a volume dial on them, try using that as well.
I was trying to use an older chrome cast model on a old- new tv while casting Hulu. I got my JBL's to even pause & start the show on Hulu. But no matter what setting I explored. Zero audio transmission. Annoyed. Hate chrome cast. I was simply trying to help my 65 yr old Father.
I have two pairs of Anker headphones and neither of them will connect to Chromecast. One says 'cannot pair' after being selected from the device list, the other (newer) ones don't even show up in the list when in pairing mode. Really poor as I only bought the Chromecast to use it with the headphones. :(
It's possible that the Anker headphones are not Bluetooth headphones. They could be running on a separate wireless technology. You can contact Google customer support for more support for your Chromecast.
@@Avantree Could this be true even if they connect to bluetooth on all of my other devices (laptop, phone, ipad)? Wanted to flag it because you have Anker listed in the description but no Anker product I've tried is compatible.
You can try resetting the pairing history on your FiiO Btr3k: *When it is on, hold both the volume- and volume+ buttons at the same time until the indicator lights stops flashing. Restart it and then trry to make the connection again.* If this doesn't work, contact Google customer support regarding your Chromecast.
I think I have sort of a handle on it. It seems to be the Bluetooth codec. I noticed it, the BTR3, was alternately blinking blue and red meaning it is defaulting to SBC according to a guide I found on the internet. I pressed the multifunction button several times and somehow got the light blinking white and red which seems to mean it's using the LDAC codec and was able to pair it at that point. The problem now is I can't reliably get it into that mode and am not sure if pushing the multifunction button is what got me there. Anyway I guess I figured out the problem, now I have to figure out the solution LOL. Unfortunately the guide doesnt tell you how to switch between codecs, just what codec is active So does Chromecast use the LDAC codec exclusively or can it use others,? I assume Chromecast doesn't have NFC, there is some indication that the BTR3 will pair better that way and automatically choose the right codec but that's not entirely clear I'll try doing what you mentioned, maybe the history has to be reset before it automatically selects the right codec although, after it paired correctly one would think it would then default to the new one but it doesn't. The BTR3 is a good device but the documentation leaves much to be desired By the way thanks for your help
@@knawl Sorry about that. Glad you figured out the problem yourself! To learn how to switch between codecs, maybe FiiO customer support can help you with that.
TLDR: If the TV has blue tooth, pair it to your head phones. If it doesn't, buy a device that transmits headphone socket audio on Bluetooth. Basically, you can't cast video and audio directly to different devices.
