In Germany we already start celebrating christmas mid November with all the christmas markets. That's one reason why christmas is more than just a holiday for us.
You were spot on. In Germany’s cold winter we long for cozyness and Christmas Markets are an important part of it. It is getting dark very early, about 5 p.m. in winter (compared to about 10 p.m. in summer) and we need the additional light of candles at home or the beauty of a Christmas Market in the long evenings. That was a beautiful reaction to a beautiful video.
Happy waiting for Christmas to you 🙏🎄🎁. Estonia's Christmas market is also a very beautiful place worth seeing, and of course for Christmas shopping 🤩. Greetings from Finland 🇫🇮 🫡
Two weeks ago I visited the Christmas market in Munich. I really enjoyed the athmosphere with all the lights, the decorations and of course Glühwein and Germknödel which is a bit like Dampfnudel but the preparation is different. Love ❤and peace 🕊from Bavaria and a merry X-Mas to everyone!🎄
I have been to Christmas markets in Campos do Jordao/SP (fake Swiss village) and Gramado/Canela RS and I much prefer Gramado as they had proper German food and a Christmas concert singing in German, it really made it feel more like Christmas even though it was in the middle of summer.
The difference is that the region of Gramado and Canela received (a large) German immigration in the XIX and XX century, that's why you see people speaking german dialects and a lot of german cuisine, even if it's adapted to the new conditions of a new country.
Just for your information. In Germany, we protect our Christmas markets at the entrances with armored barriers to ensure safety. But it's true, the Christmas markets here are beautiful.
All the markets are a little bit different in Germany, depending on the region you are, the bigger and oldest markets in the greater citys have millionns or hundred thousands of visitors every year and they are very crowed and expensive. But we have in smaller cities and villages markets only for one weekend in december, a lot of them are very pretty, too, they have nice things and food, drinks and not overpriced and often clubs, schools are buying things for charity.
I'm glad you like it. But... Christmas sales in the shops, especially for sweets, often start as early as September, which many people don't like. It spoils the Christmas spirit. When I was still... very, very young (about 21), I worked in a computer shop and the Christmas market was right on our doorstep. We were practically always standing outside the shop drinking mulled wine. BTW: Stay at home in bad or cold weather? There is a German saying... ‘There is no such thing as bad weather, there is only bad clothing!’
Chrismis time in germany is a very comercial season. But it is also the season too pace down and try too review the year what was nice ,and also remember the poplple we have lost ,,,,
@@Roberto-wt7kr True, just like Holambra/SP received both Dutch immigrants and tulips :-)
@@kronop8884 Yes, here in Brazil it's common, immigrants brought their culture to our local melting pot.

Recommendation: th-cam.com/video/tEFXPFQHL-4/w-d-xo.html - a video about 3 rather special Christmas markets.
