As a young incorrigible juvenile dude @ 12 years old remember this tune playing on Philadelphia's "Famous 56 " WFIL . 1969 , like all of the 60s ,vAnd early 79s , but especially the late 60s was a radical timeline in the "What's going on " in world history . The main thing , especially in every news station national , local , , and newspaper , and radio was the War in SouthVietnam ! Lost my uncle in NAM mid 3/1968 , tail end of bloody ass TET nearly 2wks. Prior to my 11th bday ! Seen dudes from 1965 to 1969 being sent to SouthVietnam with the last one coming home by late 1971 .Palpable PSTD cases . But , 1969 was a tumultuous year with Ted Kennedys' " Chappaquiddick fiasco , Murders of Sharon Tate , and the Super - Market Chain mogul Labianca by those Manson Family keeps , USAs putting. Man on the Moon on 7/20/1969 , WoodStock Rock Festival mid 8/16,17 ,and 18 / 1969 where around 500000 to 600000 hippies came to trip out on some folk , and heavy Rock groups . Alit of good tunes in 1969 , and I'm happy to see a young cute girl like you get into those tunes of back in the day !
Another great rock band I grew up with from the 60's-70's. They were known for including Revolutionary War-style clothes in their attire. The band had their first hit in 1961 with the instrumental "Like, Long Hair". "Indian Reservation" was one of their biggest hits in 1971. But they had a lot of great songs such as "Just Like Me", "Kicks", "Hungry", "Arizona", "Mr. Sun, Mr. Moon", "Good Thing", "Him Or Me - What's It Gonna Be?" etc.
So glad that some young people understand and love the greatness of sixties music. It's why us old boomers cling so hard to it. It was GREAT! Just for a treat, find some 1940s big band music like Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey and Glenn Miller. Hearing it in old movies was how this sixties kid got hooked onto it even though it was popular before I was born.
After Paul Revere Died, his band kept going for a while as Paul Revere's Raiders. I have seen them live (Not the original) several times and it was always a great show... Paul could just make you laugh and always had amazing musicians. (And of course the original bandmates were amazing)
It's a shame FM radio wouldn't play their music. FM loved the song when it was given to them under the band title Pink Puzz, find out it was the Raiders and they hated it.

`60's. They broke up in the early `70's. You need to try their other hits, "Just Like Me" and "Hungry". They knew how to record a good strong bass in the `60's. Then, they lost it in the `70's. False ending on this one! Those are `60's dance moves. They had 2 of their own t.v. shows in the `60's, "Where The Action Is".

I watched them regularly on "Where the Action is." I think it was a Dick Clark production. I always liked bands that had a good time.

You should take a listen to the Raiders Boys in the band. It has a heavy metal feel to it, before heavy metal was a thing
