Romany BUDDY! YOU ARE KILLING IT! I cant wait to see next years progress. Hey JB just an observation of Roman riding. I see that most of his wobbles come from his arms. I like to have my kids at class hold onto their pant legs. It really helps to quiet the upper body! Just a thought.
That's insane!!!!! So awesome!!!!! Good job Roman!!!!!! It's crazy what a great influence they are on him!! These kids are the future of snowboarding 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Absolutely LOVE that Roman and the Little Dude are hyping off of each other: "Let's Gooo!" That takes the fear factor down for Roman. He's not concentrating at all that he's on a steep Blue run. So many adults & kids that start later on just can't stop thinking about the pitch. Man once one figures out to concentrate on your form & not lean away from the hill, it's so much easier to ride. I learn that on skis first. Then I had to ignore the pitch to snowboard in control & have fun! RIDE ON!! Roman is the little MAN & he's beasting it!
Watching you ride with Roman reminds me of my mom teaching me how to ski all through growing up. I understand why going was so important to her. The time you two are spending together will forever be for a memory for him. Good job Jonathan! You’re doing a great job raising a little shredder! Hope to see you on the hood sometime☝️
huge improvements on the board! I'm extremely jealous of Roman, my parents would have never in a million years taken me snowboarding. He was born into the mecca of snowsports and his core memories will without a doubt be those
He's getting so tough. Roman has improved 1000% this year. I see what you were talking about on the podcast with people getting so close to the kids. Those kids rip!!!!
I'm from Brazil (no snow there, no snowboarding)... I had never ridden a snowboard before two years ago. I had visiting the mountain 3 times a week (my first season) What changed my ride was put the high back in forward lean. Carving, turning, and skidding are super easy on the toe side (but my problem was the heel side. After I changed my high back angle, I could make a heel side carve and more aggressive toe side turns. The center of mass is much better. I can feel my body mass and my board "connected". I tried to put the high back in the "default" position, and it was a complete disaster. The center of mass felt super weird, and I catch edges during heel side turns. My barrier right now is speed and steepest terrain.. I'm feel so scared at blue runs when I got a lot of speed and never ridden black yet but I'll do that next season.. maybe change the Roman's highback angle can be helpfull because he can just put less pressure, weight and angle to transitioning heelside to toe side and vice versa.
Personally I think teaching how to stop on toeside edge just like he does on heels it's much easiers to full lock out toeside and come to a stop and get comfortable that way then work on being able to adjust would help a ton from my experience confidence is key to not only learning but being safe, but being overly confident can become a problem aswell.

Sick that Roman's also riding switch for a few seconds at a time because it'll help him out a lot in the long run!
