5:48 is basically a perfect example of one of the things I despise in SF6. Ken wasn't punished for spamming 9 hadoukens in 10 seconds. And nephew handled it well, better than I would have. But not only was nephew not able to increase drive gauge as he parried them, Ken GAINED drive gauge while staying safe at distance and using the same move over and over again. Nephew doesn't even get drive gauge for timing the parry well. This gameplay loop is terrible to watch. I understand certain character archetypes are built around this gameplay strategy, but as soon as nephew does get an opening he drive rushes twice during a combo and is now completely out of gauge, this is including the fact that the longer duration combo that nephew would have pulled of in exchange for his entire drive gauge is going to eventually have damage scaling. Imo this is ridiculous. I'm not saying ken should face heavy punishment. but after like the 4th fireball at least start taking some gauge or prevent him from gaining more especially if he's using the exact same move repeatedly. Maybe I'm just a filthy casual but this is just irritating to watch.
Just a question and not a criticism, why not walk up low forward or sweep when nuckledu is sitting behind sonic blade. I’m sure there’s some depth and nuances to the situation that would be nice to know.
Multiple reasons: The fireball of Juri is a pressure tool, but Guile can throw sonic booms reactively so that you can not get in and try to press advantage/ the throw strike mixup. Also, Juri likes to react to fireballs with the divekick, but Guile such low recovery times that he can flashkick it on reaction. Juri has amazing buttons, but so does Guile, and he directly negates your best tools to get in. The matchup is very oppressive and means that a Juri has to get Guile in the corner and then keep him there. If you do not finish him the first time you get him there, you will have burned too many resources and lose the game as any advantage Guile does have, will eventually lead to burnout. And then it is only a question of if he already did enough damage to chip you out with level 2. But keeping him in the corner is hard with such fantastic defense. TL;DR Guile's and Juri's win conditions are opposing, but Guile has tools that specifically beat Juri's options.

The amount of frames after a whiffed parry is what, 29? Guiles sonic recovery is 30 frames!! Ryus OD hadoken recovery is 19 Frames!! and his MP hadoken is 31, VIRTUALY THE SAME. DJ's MP Slasher recovery is ONLY 27 frames!! His OD one is also at the end 27 frames (the issue with dj is he takes too long shooting the fb, but recovery is only 27).
