  • In this lecture, we are going to discuss about the organolithium reagent based reactions. Organolithium reagents are organometallic compounds that contain carbon-lithium bonds. They are important reagents in #organicsynthesis, and are frequently used to transfer the organic group or the lithium atom to the substrates in synthetic steps, through nucleophilic addition or simple deprotonation.
    1. Ortho-lithiation.
    2. Lithium-halogen exchange.
    3. Tin-lithium exchange.
    4. Proton abstraction of a terminal alkyne.
