    Disclaimer: lemurs can transfer diseases to humans
    Owner: *lets lemur lick face and mouth*

    Lemurs are not supposed to be pets they are some of the most endangered mammals on the planet.

    • @Arbear64
      @Arbear64 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Oh for Gods sakes they are not. Gezz, Where do you people come from? I swear, do people like you have no end to your ignorance ? Lemurs come a dime a dozen. I mean are you so looking for attention so bad that you are willing to look like a complete idiots on the internet for it? If you're going to tell and up right lie, shouldn't it be something bigger than this? Dude, really?

      @@Arbear64 and where is *your* research? Lemurs are the most endangered out of all primates. Not to mention keeping them as a pet is totally disrupting their normal behaviours! You're sick to think that keeping an animal as your own ego product is okay.

    • @lefishe6611
      @lefishe6611 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well technically this specific species of lemur is not endangered but I could be wrong

    • @PatrickHRoss
      @PatrickHRoss 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@lefishe6611 we should discourage lemurs as pets at every chance because it encourages an illegal wild pet trade that decimates their populations. You are right to say that current research does not indicate that ringtailed lemurs (lemur catta) are critically endangered. With this being said though it should be well known that the threats that face the, are growing and they are not benefiting from being snatched out of their natural habitats.

      @@Arbear64 Yes they are you moron. They are found in one island only and are quickly losing their habitiat due to human settlement.

    She was taken at 6 weeks from her mother!? Dogs and rabbits aren't even taken that young from their mother, thats heartbreaking that they'd do that to a primate who have such complex emotional bonds.

    Primates aren't pets. There is nothing ethical about breeding them for the pet trade.. As an infant they are torn away from their mothers to be bottled fed by humans. It is cruel and traumatic for both the infant and mother. And it buts the baby at a physical disadvatagebe abuse it does not recieve antibodies through its mothers milk. A baby primate would stay with its mother for years. It isn't like a puppy or a kitten (who are dometicated) that are weened by 8 weeks. It's so selfish.

      Most of what you said is the Gospel truth. But colostrum is produced by the mother for about the first 48 hours. As long as the newborn gets a significant dose of it, that newborn has the conferred immunity.

    We took my sugar glider to the vet and the veterinarian acted offended we brought her.She was like "I don't treat sugar gliders! I don't even touch them! I don't even know why they made you an appointment!" She was super rude!

    • @tenin982000
      @tenin982000 7 ปีที่แล้ว +39

      well did you even bother to check if the vet specialized in it? not all vets will treat every animal. it sounds like a bit was your fault as well as the vets.

    • @paulaco3564
      @paulaco3564 7 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      Majin Vegeta yes they should always check before they go in but it is unprofessional of the vet to be like that

    • @AnzAngel2015
      @AnzAngel2015 7 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Majin Vegeta yes but most vets when making an appointment ask for the type of animal first.

      Is it actually legal to own one where you live because if it isn’t they’re legally not allowed to touch it.

    • @CathyGoes
      @CathyGoes 6 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Not every vet does exotics. You need to find a vet that specializes in them as even if a regular small animal vet will see them they are likely to treat incorrectly which can sicken or kill your pet.

    I however really think it’s incredibly cruel to keep lemurs as pets.
