Very Hard Mode is an unlockable game mode featured in several Resident Evil titles; notably Resident Evil Outbreak and Resident Evil Outbreak File 2, while other mainline titles such as Resident Evil 5 and 6 dubbed it as "Professional Mode". As the mode's title suggest, a common pattern in this mode is the high increase in difficulty, requiring more prudent item management, planning, adaptation, and precision in order to survive.
Of note, the Outbreak series feature starkly different experience in this mode. A prime example being during the level Outbreak, in which Bob becomes a zombie and will attack Mark instead of committing suicide as in easier modes.
On the mainline entries, the mode often enforce players to be quick on their feet and adapt to more aggressive composition of enemies ergo their AI behavior. Often times, the mode punishes players to near death state with a single hit for any form of mistake.
Online Co-op? On PS2? And on Resident Evil?? This could possibly be the most revolutionary game of its time.
Monster Hunter also has online co-op on the PS2. Capcom does the online thing on PS2 from a loooong time ago.
@@RenShinomiya121 The craziest thing is Capcom did this back in 2005 on your hands too: the Monster Hunter Portable (Call monster hunter freedom in the western market) in PSP.
I spend countless hours with all my friends both bringing the PSP plus the game, with chargers in local McDonald's tho.
@@JerryChanD the PSP is designed with LAN in mind though. So I'm not really that surprised about the portable games being online accessible. PS2 is definitely not a console with online in mind, that's why the game's online is a breakthrough during that time.

Very nice Resident Evil Outbreak episode guys. I wouldn't put it past Kevin to be drinking alcohol while on duty. I mean just look at how crooked Chief Irons was. Not like Kevin would be reprimanded.
He could be off-duty too. Course, I think it's illegal to drink while in uniform too

This is the second time I'm watching this series. Really good content, and as I'm having huge urge to play outbreaks myself as well but I don't have controller for ps2 right now so its a no go. Glad I remembered you lads and gals video series to get my fix.
Ps. capcom please release hd remaster of outbreaks with online restored.

It would be really nice if Outbreak (both File 1 & File 2) were to get a Remake in the vein of RE 2 & RE 3. It could bring back a lot of old veterans who miss Outbreak, as well as some "new blood" looking for fun multiplayer that is still a challenge....though updating the voice actors would probably be a necessity, as the original voice acting still leaves much to be desired. Even "passable" quality voice acting would probably still be an improvement. :P

Man, imagine if Capcom did something awesome. And decided to remake this game for the PS4..with modern controls, and a voice communication. IT would be game of the year...hands down.
28:25 - The Earwigs climb on the walls in File 1. They removed that in File 2 to have burrowing instead... and homing jumps.

For the life of me I never could find the forklift key and get swarmed to death in very hard🙁.
I think you can just wait on top of the police car in the area in front of J's bar to avoid the bugs.
...I do remember that I think you can climb on top of one of the police cars now you mention it. I'd worry though that the pincers would find a way to attack still.
I have no idea why the zombies in the first Scenario of Outbreak act so weird. Some will easily die if taking enough damage, whilst others act like the Gamma Hunters where they 'die', but don't disappear and later come back to life in a few minutes.
Then again, it might be an experimental thing like The Hive's item documents.

Resident Evil Gamer there's a fan server you can sign up on, but in order to play. You need a Japanese PS2 Console and Biohazard Outbreak to play it.
