Hello Sir, great step by step video 👍🏼 one suggestion though…. you should invest in getting a pop up covering to use in your driveway, wayyyy to hot out there 🥵
Thanks for the great video! What do you do with the plastic under carriage covers? Just store them in the garage? Are there a lot of uncovered bolt holes that can cause water to accumulate in the vehicles body? My wife is going to need these to get in and out.
Thanks! I just store them in the garage. They are not water tight, so they must be for aerodynamics only. The Rivian is designed to go through 3 feet of water so I don't see it being an issue. Plus I haven't experienced any impact on range in the year I have had the running boards installed.
Hi Duke. Just fyi Dodge came out with a Dodge Charger Daytona EV. So now you don't have to be sad for the Hellcat. I want one -the RT starts at 59k but I'll wait until its about 48k. Good opening to your video.
@thedukeofmanville Okay, good to know. Maybe I'll get the R3X as my retirement car. I don't need the "hatch" in the hot hatch but I see how it goes in 2.5 years when I retire.
That looks great, thanks for sharing! A few questions: Any thoughts on rusting or other long term effects on the under carriage by not having the plastic panels? Does it affect the ability to use magnetic jack pucks? And will this fit Gen 2 R1S? Picking mine up in a few weeks, super excited! Thanks!
I got some on my R1T. Love them! Best product out for the Rivian! I believe its my R1T, but about a week after getting these on, turning left makes my entire left ride proximity USS go insane, turn all red, and beep galore at me. Not sure if its these? I doubt it, as the right do not go off.
Hi Duke, I’m curious if after putting your running boards on did you have any issues requiring you to service the vehicle at all? More specifically have you had or aware of Rivian owners receiving a “critical battery issue” message and if the service center said anything about installing the running boards voiding warranty’s etc.?
@@MichaelTB-tt8hq No to all of the above. In fact I had my R1T serviced with the running boards on, and the only question they had was could they put it on a lift without removing them. If so, there would have been an additional charge. They were able to lift it without removing them. Furthermore, I don't see how there would be any correlation between the running boards and a battery fault.
First and foremost i hope you do know about the kneel feature. Whenever you park the vehicle it lowers itself to the lowest position to make entry/exit/ and loading the trunk/frunk easier😅. The way those sit just feels like its adding drag for no reason. I understand you like the aesthetics and branding but the functionality is redundant.
Thanks. I am fully aware of kneel mode, however, the entry height is too high for me, and is higher than most vehicles due to the battery. In addition, I have bad hips after quitting the military after 21 years of service. Plus, these running boards have many benefits besides looks such as door ding protection, and the ability to squeeze into my door in tight parking situations. These are by far the best things I have added to my R1T and R1S.

Thanks! I have a large garage, but the lighting is much better outdoors for video recording quality. Thanks for commenting!

Unfortunately, it slower than a Tesla Model 3/Y performance, and it cost more. Thanks for sharing!

That was funny.. love your videos 😂
Thanks!
Well done sir!

There’s a great benefit in having running boards. Low life’s can’t ding your door with theirs!

Glad you like them! I haven't experienced anything like that with my R1T with the EVBASE running boards. Thanks for sharing!

@@thedukeofmiddleville thank you. My thoughts exactly.
Does these running boards fit R1S 2nd gen?
Do the panels fit back on after the running boards are installed?
You have to cut slots into the panels to fit with the running boards on. I just leave mine off in case I want to remove them.
Does the running board cover the side mirror projected light at night ?
@@rajatrv4126 No it doesn't impact the puddle lights.
Does this fit gen2?
I'm checking with the supplier. I'll let you know when I have an answer.
So you leave the cover off I assume ?
