Miss the days when the off-season discussions centered around who could potentially be added or subtracted from the Rays roster. Nevertheless, a necessary discussion. We can only hope for a positive outcome out of all of this with the team staying in Tampa or St. Pete. Really don't know what to think from day to day. Thanks to Evan, Ulises, and Kevin for all of the great coverage. Wishing you all the most joyous of holiday seasons.🎄
18:19 the ongoing maintenance and insurance should be the responsibility of whoever owns the stadium, not the team. That's the way it works with every other stadium. If the county is assuming ownership of the new stadium then the county is responsible for it's maintenance and insurance
Good stuff, guys! They county did what they had to do so, I commend them. Stu needs to plow ahead, bring in a partner, or step aside completely. I agree with the sentiment that Manfred reassured the governing bodies that baseball is staying in TB with or without Stu. This was a win for baseball in the TB area. Now, let's get back to baseball to end the year and give this some time to cook out of the foreground.
21:51 to suggest that the other owners of mlb should help fund a new stadium for the Rays is lunacy. They would pump those millions into their own franchises
Maybe have a Rays IPO. What about a Publix sleeve patch. Or even a Hard Rock patch. Or even better a official lap dance sponser from Mons Venus arm patch.Maybe raise money for naming rights for the new stadium. Or a Rays car wash.
I personally think that if Stu breaks this deal he will be force by MLB to sell the team because the commissioner was to confident saying the rays moving is close to none and talking about new owner I agree that they might make him sell to someone that can afford it.
PLEASE, could ANYBODY tell me what our score is at Yankee Stadium? It's said hundreds of time that the Rays win more games vs. the Yankees in New York than vice versa. I cannot find those stats! Please help me out, and even if it is just for the last 3-4 years... THANKS A LOT!
Yes, it is exhausting... But, you're a fan you do care if they stay or go... You are not going to stay a Rays' fan if they move to another State... Just ask A's fans if they are still fans of the A's...
@@marcsimon3275 It is mind boggling how this nightmare could be happening to another team and fanbase. We all saw what happened in Oakland. We are not even a year removed from that debacle. Guess it is a combination of $$$ & egos.
@@Elephant2024 I do think the A's situation will help the Rays... MLB took a media hit... It was a bad look for them... Now, Manfred almost looks like a hero changing No votes to Yes... His legacy can't allow this again... I think he will make sure this deal goes through... Even if it means either raising the loan to Rays... or forcing them to sell...
MLB and its owners are tired of Stu's antics and want new ownership and a new stadium in Tampa. Manfred met with City, County and the Govenor to formulate a plan to oust Stu and move team to Tampa or at very least a location in Pinellas closer to Tampa, their plan was to pass the bonds to force Stu's hand, which he doesn't have a hand and never did. The problem is where do they play for next 4 years? It's still St. Pete's responsibility to provide an MLB stadium for them to play through 2028. Somehow MLB will force Stu to sell.
I think STU is going to find someone to buy the team. This way he can save face Tampa Bay Rays have a stadium and STU can end his MLB chapter as an owner of a team..

I NEVER thought the Rays could have a worse owner than Vince Namoli.

Stu might want to move the team but what makes you think the MLB will allow it. It was MLB that told Stu to stop with the sister concept not Stu
i hate stu sternberg but RAYSUP🎉🎉🎉
