    Tau being infected by Genestealers is in the Caiphius Cain novels.... Black Library has this covered

      In the first book some Tao were infected. I have heard that the problem for genestealer cults with Tao is that Tao have beater control over their populations, having even government chosen partners, and no overpopulated hive cities. That makes infiltration more difficult for genestealers.

    The Tau plot armor is so strong i can tell this will end with "and then Farsight came and with an unprescendent genious plan destroyed the hive fleet without a single Tyranid been able to scratch him, flip the finger to the Imperium and farted in the face of every ork".

    I know chaos is busy with themselves most of the time, but the hive fleets are a huge threat to them too. Time for a little push back from chaos.

    GW took a decade to tell the story of the Tyranid invasion of the Red Scar region, beginning with the Rising Leviathan dataslates, through the Shield of Baal campaign, Devastation of Baal novel and Psychic Awakening denouement (of sorts).
    It’s very possible that Chalnath will see a Tyranid presence in the end.

  • @sgtmech
    @sgtmech 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    One thing I think is overlooked is how massive a threat to Chaos the Tyranids are. Wiping out the galaxy would destroy the chaos gods, as they depends on the emotions and actions of living beings for survival. I think it would be a great story line to have Chaos realize this and take the appropriate action. :)

  • @justinanderson2460
    @justinanderson2460 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    I like the idea of a new Hive Fleet. The re-absorbtion of other fleets' biomass (namely Kraken) would be a fantastic way to boost it quickly to higher levels and while I agree devouring the Tau 5th expansion and all of the Chalnath Expanse would give them a greater sense of Doom, it's a bit rude to the Tau and their fanbase who have literally for the first time ever pushed away from their main Empire only to get immediately annihilated.
    I think that Typhon should be the new big bad faction/threat rising in the north-east while Leviathan acts as the ever insidious threat that appears and pushes far closer than anyone would like to Terra. I think Typhon should be the the first stages of of arrival of the Tyranids proper in the galaxy. Still many years away in practice but, I think Typhon should just be attached to a MASSIVE tendril that's only now arriving in the galaxy and is the first real part of the true Tyranid swarm. It makes thematic sense too because in Greek Mythology, Typhon was the greatest and Lord of All Monsters, birthed specifically by Gaia to defeat the Gods and was even able to get the better of Zeus, King of the Gods when he first showed up. Typhon is higher on the mythical monster food chain that a Behemoth, the Kraken or even the Leviathan so it would make sense that it is the new, main face of the Tyranids moving forward or at least works up to that position maybe even absorbing Leviathan one day if the opportunity presents itself.

    • @SpiritStoneWarrior94-yx3gs
      @SpiritStoneWarrior94-yx3gs 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I mean it's not rude to the Tau at all..... it would just go to further prove their hubris, and inability to realise that in a galaxy of threats that have been around for millennia longer than they have, they still believe they stand a chance at pushing further than they already have.

    I'd like to see a minor hive fleet actually grow into a major hive fleet, just because they always talk about it being a possibility, but it usually doesn't actually happen. Better than just rehashing an old fleet that clearly wasn't up to snuff anyways because it, y'know, died.

      The Tau are well suited to deal with Tyranids but they just cannot fight a war where every yard is lost in blood. And the Nids get f*ckin creative they will come from underground, choke the skies and avalanche the ground. I fear if it did come to it, railguns might not be enough. They might actually have to ask the Imperium of Man to come save their ass because the Nids might be fierce but what the hell are they gonna do about Lionel El and multiple fleets of Astartes coming at them full tilt?

    The Tyranids, an extra-galactic xenomorph infestation that threaten to depopulate the galaxy! The Tau are a young, dynamic race. Technologically advanced, but not as numerous as the Imperium of Man. The Tau have matched their technology against the Tyranid, but this has spawned a hyper-evolution in the Tyranids, making the Tau's job harder. Now, we do have a Primarch involved in action against the Tyranids. Lion El' Johnson would seem to be a thorn in the Tyranid's side. But being in Imperium Nihilus, Johnson's resources are stretched. Another awakened loyalist Primarch to shake things up?

    Tyranids are no thread!
    They are the angels of salvation.
    Uncorruptable, without sins, without greed, no desire for money or power.
    They know no lies, not seeking personal glory or benefits.
    They consume the flesh of the sinners.
    Reforging them pure and without corruption.

    Let's be honest. Tyranids never win any significant victories. Sure, they eat a lot of unnamed worlds but when was the last actually meaningful thing they did? Even the major hive fleets haven't done more than nibble a bit on Ultramar.
    Then you throw them against T'au, the race with plot armour on par with Ultramarines, and commander Farsight no less. Farsight, who GW seems to be building to be the T'au Horus who will make the empire fall and therefore must survive until that happens.
    Alternatively, they encounter the Lion. A recently returned primarch that isn't going to be removed at his re-introduction. We can already see how this would end. A number of planets eaten, huge number of losses and the hive fleet is shattered at a high cost. Marine losses replenished with a primaris injection out of Cawl's back pocket and everything is back to normal.
    As much I 'd love to see the tyranids do something beyond looking scary, they suffer from the same issue as chaos. You can't let them win too much or the whole setting will need a big overhaul.
    That said, a chronic genestealer cult infestation on those Farsight worlds to serve as a speedbump for T'au fifth expansion is something I could see happening.

    I have first hand accounts of how the hive fleet was named.
    Disney/gw employee who knows nothing of the lore, doesn't care for it and just wants to push extremist narratives: walks down the office
    Older employees chained to the floor,talking in whispers about the FW Typhon model
    Disney/GW employee: ah that sounds like a good name ..let's stick that on something I'll come up with in order to make my mark ....
    Something original
    I've got it ...a fleet ..hive ..of ....Tyranids .....

    Tbh I think 40k could use some closure, not another frontline. GW keeps piling up unfinished business and quite frankly its getting frustrating and it feels like there's nothing at stake at all. I would prefer for some storyline to come to an end - vigilus for example.

    • @alastor8091

      Remember, this stuff is decades old. 30k was used primarily as a set up for 40k before it was expanded upon. At one point, Primarchs werent even a thing. Instead of having an overarching plot and the gaps being filled in like with 30k, we're watching everything be filled in in real time. Think about how the Horus Heresy JUST finished up. Next we have the Scouring and a few other notable eras, War of the Beast, Goge's Reign of Blood. 40k will trundle along until we run out of "prequel" stuff. Then you can expect them to, lets be honest, cause a train wreck writing into the future.

    So super modified Elite human Gene-father Pri-mark’s cannot stop acting like Drama queens and realize Codex Estartes Chapters don’t work It’s too small a force to deal with the ridiculous universe/Galaxy task and numerically superior threats at hand. Seriously instead of Change for profit. Games workshop should un -Ass their heads and fix their stupid broken game lore. Hire some lore smiths to hammer out a real time line, history tree novel order and listing. Then start producing non push fit multi part modifiable kits, one’s that actually hold entire unit’s not singles or half but entire 100% units. Stop with the price gouging stunts. Combat patrol should be a 500 point unit not 600 or 475. I have stopped buying and playing no more additions or models until GW fixes these things I’m not relearning everything every time they decide to change everything for profit. No more buying duplicate near unmodifiable kits without crazy amount of work. I have years of grey to slay second hand and second party purchased. If they want my $10,000+ a year hobby budget money they will fix this garbage. If not I will hunt fish and work on my cars more. GW better figure out people are leaving the hobby in droves, there are other things people can do in life. As of now I’m done unless change occurs.
