Thanks so much for your support!
Lean in to what makes you different! Much love!
YES! TEAM PRIME LENS ONLY! 🙌 Great explanation of your workflow with primes
YOU KNOW! Thanks, John!
An 85mm and 35mm are the perfect set-up for weddings
24mm is must :) But in cases you dont require 24mm, 35mm is perfect
i agree - i use 35mm and 90 mm macro - u dont need anything else - plus i only take 1 camera
When there is tight space just go with 24mm and 50mm , when u hav more space 35mm and 85mm
28 and 85 for me
In agreement. I use a 35 on my full frame and a 50 on my crop. Works out well and economical.
I don't know.... I don't... know... I just can't get over your honest personality and silly yet, great humor ... you're so underrated
The two lenses I use for events are the 24mm for groups and 50mm for details and portraits. I definitely could do most events with those two lenses.
I use 24+50 as well. 85mm often is too long
Good call. I loved using just two primes when I used to shoot weddings. My faves were the 35 1.4 the 85 1.2 and the 200 f2 the latter awesome for candid distance subject isolation. I also used to carry the 14 mm 2.8 as well.
"That's a tip! That's a spicy tip for you!" 😂😂😂
Love your genuineness... Is that a word?
I have moved to mostly a 35mm - 85mm combo and still take 50mm 24-70 2.8 and 70-200 2.8. The 70-200 2.8 can really crush a distracting background and pull in distant objects if needed. Great video, little over the top with the hipster theme.
we want more wedding tutorials! love these. also you're not alone in sporting the lip beard so ROCK IT
Excellent video! Last year I moved to primes only for weddings and am loving it. It makes me more in tune with the event, it's makes me move more and the bokeh of primes is just fantastic! Keep the vids coming :)
Love everything you do! You are the reason I only shoot primes and it’s help my photography sooo much!!
Such great stuff, and you are a great teacher! I rarely shoot any events/weddings, but the very few I have done, I feel like I’ve always just grabbed a 70-200 to feel safe, but I love how you utilize all primes. I am going to try that next time!
Starting to do some paid shoots and the 35 + 85 combo works like a charm. Great focal lengths to shoot. I do have to invest in a second camera body, not only as a backup but also for an increase of flexibility. Swapping lenses can be a drag and you may miss a moment or two.
Used cameras can be a great budget solution. :) That's the route I took.
WE, THE SQUADFAM, ARE PROUD OF OUR TH-cam DAD.
I agree!
I know this is a goofy comment, but this sincerely makes me feel like crying. So grateful for you all!
@@EricFloberg Equal parts serious and silly, as one should be. So much respect for you and your craft, and the attitude you've embraced towards sharing what you know. Please, for all of our sakes, keep it up. #proudtobesquadfam
Eric you are so informative and entertaining to watch! Thanks for continuing to create such valuable content for our community :)
My lord, the most helpful video I've found so far. Thank you!
This dude is slowly but surely going in my top youtubers list... nice job man!
Your delivery of info and comedy is freaking awesome and funny! And your editing is amazing! Subscribed!! :)
Love this video! I've come back to it many times
I'm getting back into photography after 25 years. Video is like learning a new whole language.
At weddings, we did everything with 24-50mm lens & I had zoom too that I didn't use too much. I don't remember the length. Carried 2 cameras with me, always had an old one in a car. I had it so why not?
Excellent video.
I use to develop my own film too.
This guy is literally underrated. I just want Eric to start the video drinking milk and have a milk lip beard
Great video! Love the humor!
Very informational, but also very fun to watch! You´re starting to be my favourite TH-camr! :D
Recently got me the Holdfast Moneymaker but in black because of your video recomendation man!
The way you explain everything is great! Thank you.
SUCH great info, as always. Love the lip beard. And I love the link in the descriptch
lol thanks my dude
Thanks for sharing your process. I prefer a zoom primarily the 70-200 since what venues I've shot are smaller and don't allow for a lot of movement. It also allows me to minimize lens changes. I also don't have the budget for that many L primes. Love the look that you produce.
Your personality is infectious😂. Made my day 😍
Hey Eric - I just subscribed to your channel. - I just wanna say I love the look and feel of this video. The colour pallet is yum and easy on the eyes. Content is great too - I am keen to learn heaps in the professional photography space from all sorts of people and places so I am stoked to have found your channel! I look forward to checking out more of your content - Cheers! Chanelle
Great video and funny, love it :). That's how I also shoot weddings. Primes all the way, dual strap with two camera bodies and I tuned down to 3 favorite lenses, 35, 50 and 85. Less is more.
Love the info!!! Keep pumping them out!
Yes! Thanks for the support, Andrew!
Well ! I love the way you explained things good job mate. This was the most helpful video for me 😄😄❤️❤️
I’ll leave this here for the TH-cam algorithm! 👍🏼 On Patreon can’t wait to see more video!🙌🏼
Thanks a lot Eric for such an insightful video. I am sure it will help me to shoot a coming wedding better!
the intro was everything. I love your style!! Thanks TH-cam Dad!
This was amazing bro
Love your video!
You MUST be my dad, because you knew EXACTLY what's going on in my life, and I had no idea! I've booked my first wedding for later this year, and was contemplating going with two DSLRs and only primes. I wasn't sure if that was a great idea or, if it was, how best to make it work. This was exactly what I needed. I feel a lot more confident with my plan, kinda impressed with my own ingenuity, and more prepared on how to make it work beautifully. Thank you pops!!
(*disclaimer, you look at least a decade younger than me, so getting to call anyone else 'dad' is a salve to my sensitive ego :D)
Beauty pushbroom dude!! As always, thanks for the vids.
first time here. your lip beard is absolutely GLORIOUS lol. also, great tips! I got into photography about a year ago and have never shot a wedding but it's been something I have been thinking about and how much fun it would be. To be the one that captures the moment for the bride and groom would be so much fun and also very gratifying. I will be back for more tips and tricks! ......annndddddd...subscribed!!
Just watching this back for some more tips cause i love refreshing my advice from pops. But can we just talk about how he absolutely snatched that first lens off the body at 5:30, like as if bo twisting was required he just CRACKS it off with such skill 😂
I was a photojournalist During the Syrian war and used the same setup with the same reasoning. I used a 20mm with a 50mm or a 35 with an 85mm.
Good stuff man!! And yes keep rocking the lip beard!!
Love this! Thanks Eric!!
El papá de TH-cam! Aquí estamos ayudando en otros idiomas para llegar con el algoritmo a todo el planeta! Saludos desde España!
Dudeee such a good video! This was so helpful. I have a super similar approach to weddings! 5d4, 24, 35, 50, and a 24-70. NEED to get another camera body because I'm tired of renting on each time. Great video man!
Appreciate the video! Especially helpful knowing when you switch to what lenses! Also, dad jokes always welcome 😂
This is sooo adorable... “your TH-cam dad” haa love it! Thanks Eric this is great content
Just happened upon this -- very helpful -- thanks so much man!
The next time I am in Chicago I have to look you up. I appreciate the content. Blessings.
Primes makes you work for your shots...as you should. Great photos btw...very nice!
That is amazing
No one rocks a Dad-stache better than you, Eric
I am going to adopt you as my TH-cam dad whether you like it or not. Thank you for your great videos and advice!
I love this man
Great video!
I appreciate your content so much! ♥️
I appreciate you, Atul!
Your work is great!
The blooper reel at the end 👌🏼
Another one ☝🏼. Keep pushing out this content! 🤙🏼🤙🏼
Trying! Thanks for the support!
Haha loving that cowboy look, sherrif!
I truly appreciate you, coming from Nikon over to Sony and in love with the Primes. Can't see myself buying another telescope simply because of what you said and how I feel, it makes you lazy and staying on your feet causes you to be creative. New Subscriber!!!
Very insightful video, learnt a lot from this video.
amazing video thank you! i'm being the onsite photographer for a summer school this summer and going with prime lenses 50mm & 85mm, and sigma 24-70mm zoom lens. can't wait to see what shots i get!
Brilliant! I searched for a long time to find a decent video about this topic! Plus I just recently discovered your channel and am really enjoying your content. (Gonna get a moneymaker soon x) )
Love videos like this! U got one more subscribed!
Told my fiancé I was watching my TH-cam daddy...I uh...I didn’t realize what came out of my mouth until she was just looking at me for 20 seconds with pure confusion
BAHAHAHAHAHA
Loll that is really funny
Haha I’m here to support your lip beard! Thanks for being so transparent!
Like your style man
thank you for the tips awesome video !
Been using a pair of bodies with different prime lenses just about forever. However, I like the Optech Dual Harness because of the extra security of the two points of attachment for each camera. I have recently switched to Sony APSC Mirrorless cameras with 35mm f/1.8 and 85mm f/1.8 lenses...
can you make a video about camera settings and focus mode for wedding please? i love your video btw. keep it coming
great video!
Your videos always make me lawl dude. Especially that ending haha
good video !!thanks !!
You're my hero.
I could listen to gear talk all day. Love your channel Broskee. I’m a TH-cam dad as well 👊
Yeah, a secondary/backup camera is almost a must/important for pro works, especially shooting with primes only. I wasn't even a pro, but when I started out four decades ago to cover events, I used three cameras (Nikon F2A, FE2 & Hasselblad 500 C/M). Back in the dark age of digital, I had Nikon D3, D300 & Canon 5D Mk II with two sets (Canon & Nikon) lens trinity. In addition to backup to backup as best practice, it is much easier to switch focal length (and/or ASA/ISO with film) with multiple cameras.
yaaaas dad
Great! Thanks
But but I thought this channel had 1mil subs already? Highly Underated but Love this! Subscribed
So bummed I can’t go to your class!! My sons first birthday is the 17th. Hopefully you will have success in this one and continue to do more so I can catch one!
Super interesting as always! Do you calibrate your lenses to your cameras? Just wondering how you deal with the super shallow depth of field when you're wide open all the time.
Love your videos.
commenting on your lip beard to help u out, but ALSO because this was a very helpful video and I appreciate it!!!
Great video dadberg, really inspired to grow a lip beard. 🙌
Hi Eric,
What would you suggest for a beginner wedding photographer if you should choose only two lenses? What is the best combination? I am considering to buy a 35mm and a 85mm prime for my FF body. Do you think it can be a good start?
Dang!!! I am gnna copy your look, its so so cool bud!!
Good review 🏆💯💯
Cool !!! 👍
Dude, great video!
Hey Eric! Love the video - just wanted to know what you thought about Canon's RF lineup for taking stills. Do you think it would be worth it to convert over to mirrorless to save weight (even those RF lenses look absolutely massive) lol
Thank you for sharing 🙌💯❤️🔥
Thanks for this. That shoulder back doesn't need a shoulder strap... the harness has clips which can hold the bag against your lower back, where you can reach into it behind you to grab things more quickly.... as long as you know where each thing is in the bag by feel, which you can develop a skill for
Great video
GREAT info about weddings and primes... PS I LOVE my ART lenses and my 5D iv and another comment
Love me some spicy tips, thanks Eric!
You’re welcome, Kevin! Thanks for watching!
I really appreciate this. I use two bodies as well but I really want to invest in a wider prime as I only have two lenses right now; 28-75 tamron and an 85mm 1.8.. looking at getting a 35mm and 55mm 1.8 soon. I just love the vibe you get from walking back and forth looking for that dreamy shot with my 85.. i rather zoom with my feet.. i feel accomplished after getting that shot lol.
Yess!
Just seeing this video rom three years ago! Thanks. Do you every use any lighting (on/off camera flash, etc.) during weddings?
love those leather straps, happy love day dad!
Howdy love your videos! How do you transport from getting ready location to ceremony to reception? Appreciate the time!
