Is it weird to say that Listening to this makes me feel like I'm listening to history it's not that it's boring but it's just feel so real.
2:30 must accurate representation of listening to the radio I've ever seen. Great use of voices there.

They didn't. They used a wormhole which bypassed it. But the wormhole requires a beacon to work. That's what Kirk snuck into Jinkens' bag. That's what the 'package' was.
However, I agree that the story doesn't make that clear until later. And the tone the story took when describing the field as impassable doesn't line up with these wormholes. Since the only thing keeping us in seems to be that no one will activate a beacon for us outside the barrier.
There is an early mention of being able to get people home but it is pretty vague so I could totally see people missing it.

Warp Beacons, they had some people on the outside still that helped them set it up, jump beacons don't require you to pas through the intervening space, so they can safely leave the bubble...but nothing can get in!

They were there BEFORE the barrier went into place, Jenkins smuggled them back to earth when he left and gave them to what becomes AEC (Allied Extrasolar Command).

It was not revealed in the Salvage storyline or the Deathworlders storyline

OK, somewhere, somehow, I appear to of missed something. How in the heck do we get from our entire solar system is increased in an inexhaustible / impenetrable bubble, to me now have an alien ambassador your space station in the vicinity of the moon? The description of the station does not sound like the observation station that was in the vicinity of Saturn, and a host of galactic ambassadors or not on that station.
Jump beacons. They take you from point a to point be without actuality traveling the intervening space.
And It should be pointed out that in order to jump to a jump beacon you need to have an "invitation" of sorts.
It was communicated via show not tell when the pilot used the smart phone like device right before the station arrived. She was inviting with some alien communication technology

you can pass by that restriction, if you have a jump drive and coordinates to a beacon. that thing does not go through space, it is more of a teleportation device.
First Murphy's law is anything that can happen will happen. It doesn't matter if it's a negative or a positive also. Once again sapient not sentient sapient is a dog, a cat, a mouse okay sentient is something that can tell and can recognize time that it has. Its own consciousness is aware of its own existence

I had to fast forward through a lot of this. So far absolutely no character's have gotten my interest or made me even want to care about them.
The bar tender in the first part was ok, and Kirk isn't bad, but the others are pretty generic.
Fast forwarding definitely won't help that
