That would make alot more sense. 265,000 yen is $1,639.80. Still a crazy amount but not anywhere near as bad as $265,000. It's actually a fairly common mistake I see with guitars in other countries alot on Reverb.

The "Jimmy Page" guitar listing stinks of a scam. Just something about the way it's presented. You're gonna pay the $265k and then get an enamel pin in the mail.
I can only imagine the hate messages these people get on Reverb. I had the year wrong once on a Gibson I was selling, and it was horrendous how people talk to each other on Reverb 😮💨😂.
Another great and ridiculous video! Speaking of ridiculous, can you do a video on why a seller can't delete a listing that is no longer available? Or has that already been requested?
i was digging around on japanese auction sites, and i found 2 different listings for that fernandes double neck. given the price of those ($1500-2000), and current exchange rate, i’m guessing that price was meant to be yen, but the seller didn’t realize they were listing a dollar price instead, or were just copy/pasting a different listing that was listed in yen. still way too much, but some of those zo-3 models sell for $600+ just because they have an anime graphic printed on them. some of the non special editions sell for around $60-100
Ive never bought a guitar online. I make my living with the handful ofguitars that i do own so i refuse to buy something that i cant play and feel first. Unfortunately, thats becoming harder and harder to do because of things like Reverb. Alot of my favorite guitar shops in various cities are now defunct, luckily my local favorite is still going but from talking to the guys that work there, they keep afloat with repair work and setups. I think thats what keepsany modern day shop alive because the small boutique shops do the best repair work by far. But i think they struggle these days justifying keeping a brick and mortar business. All of their sales, and i mean virtually ALL, are online. They dont sell beginner stuff so thats a knock and Jim, the owner, said they probably had maybe 8-10 walk in sales this past year....and i was one when i bought a 1980s LP Custom, which arent really a pricey era of Gibsons. Thats my first guitar in 5 years, not including trade ins, which i dont count. I think thats a common rate for a working musician who has 4 guitars that he really TRUSTS. We dont buy to collect so when you trust an instrument on the road, it takes alot to replace it.
I bought a Gretsch G2255DC eletromatic off Reverb. it's a wine colored one, I paid just under $600.00 grand total shipping included. but because I was worried about buying online. I did quite a bit of correspondence with the seller. before finally pulling the trigger. and I have to say after it arrived I was happy with it. it's in very good condition, and it's a looker, and plays great. that was five years ago and wouldn't say it was a screaming deal? but I think I did pretty good. but I also have to say that's probably a rare accurance. and that I lucked out on that purchase.
Honourable mention to the mid 60's Watkins Rapier bass that someone near Edinburgh wants £800 for but which is in terrible condition. £800 is what a collector _might_ pay for a (rare) very good one with original control knobs, tuners, etc.
There IS a legit 1960 5F6A bassman with 4 JBLs hiding under that stuff. That's actually not a particularly unreasonable price for a Jerry Garcia owned tweed bassman.
Honestly the acoustic kinda fucks. The extra shit is tacky but… it’s an acoustic with a bigsby and a bridge humbucker, super weird but for a little over $600 including shipping compared to everything else reverb has to offer that’s a genuinely cool and unique instrument, with a vibe that not everyone can get along with.
When I get up in the morning I play solitaire while drinking my coffee. Ads for reverb come up between games, so I click on them sometimes. The prices are ridiculous. There would have to be a lot of millionaires with no common sense, and who fixated on guitar stuff to sell any of it.

Man, people are just straight up delusional with their asking prices. Did that "Jerry Garcia amp" even come with any type of certificate of authenticity?
The speakers in the Fender Bassman Amp aren't original. They should be Jensen Alnico 10" speakers not JBL's or Altec Lansing. These speakers are heavy compared to the original Jensen speakers. They wouldn't sound like the early Fender amps with these either.
Those ugly Fernandes "Art Rock" guitars usually sell for between $800 to $1,700 US. $265,626 seems like just a bit of a stretch. And the "steampunk" guitar dredged up memories of this classic from many years ago: th-cam.com/video/TFCuE5rHbPA/w-d-xo.html
The only people who should be buying that Jerry Garcia amp are the kind of people who can afford to pay to have all of that claim confirmed by the right people and have it signed and assured. Otherwise it's like a really bad shape 1960 Bassman, so it's still kinda worth about 8k
