    Being an introvert doesn't necessarily mean "shy and prefer to be alone". Yes we tend to be more quiet. It's to do with being overstimulate by big groups, lots of noise, etc. Not all introverts are shy, and it doesn't mean we all prefer to be alone, we just need to recharge after being in simulating social environments.

      And on the flip side, I’m very soft spoken but I love and gain energy from social interactions. I don’t think people understand what introvert/extrovert really means!

    My best American friend, Chris. He told me he was shy. But to me, he's really expressive. America has a culture of being vocal expressive.

    English has very different energy from many languages not only because it has a precise vocabulary for the slightest matters but has its own pitch and rhythm and I have learned the slightest details here.

    Having accent is not per se embarrassing, as it indicates that the person knows at least one more language (which is a good thing), but we should make our accents less strong in order to make them more understandable for others specially for the natives.

    • @DawnPeacock
      @DawnPeacock 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Exactly! Having an accent means you have made the effort to learn a language you didn't grow up with. 💛 And having an expressive voice is more important than pronouncing all the individual sounds exactly "right". If you have expressive intonation, you will get your point across quite effectively, even with an accent.

    I believe the art of monotonous n introvert the speaker mentioned is cultural. Much more is required in these areas like synonyms, antonyms n reading more books during the month. Similarly, social activities n engagement need to be created. Technical devices like phones, laptops n others are to be avoided for a while to have the minds disengage n be prepared for new lessons.
