I built one of these years ago from a slash ultimate vxl on 3s. It would do 70mph no problem
Awesome. I have an upgrade video coming soon. With the beefed up drive train, it makes a great platform to really add some power to it. Now, if it would just get above 10°F.

I have many RC’s including the Mojave 6s Fireteam Rustler 4x4 VXL etc. but none labeled Rally RC so I’m looking at this one & some of the other 1:10 scale Subaru Works Rally’s as well. I’ve been watching reviews to see how it runs thanks for the look hopefully I’ll see more it’s just about that time again to add to the collection.
Best basher RC rally car for sure. I have an upgrade video coming soon. If you are going to race the HPI and CEN are great for that. But if you are bashing this is the one to get.

I wouldn’t say they really upped the power. But in theory that motor should run forever since it is low on power.
They definitely upped the power. The brushed version only did 18mph. A 7mph faster is a 38% increase. Wait until you see the upgrade video. It's going to be a beast.
Im curious about running 17mm hexes and grp tires. I couldnt on my rally with the oversized stubs the hd kit uses.
This does have the 6mm out drive shafts, so it probably won't work.

This is a nice update. I have one of the older ones that came with the brushes motor. I ended up doing the Vel brushless upgrade. Honestly, this brushless model doesn't seem all that much faster than the old brushed. Is the gearing?
It's 7 mph faster. It's not a huge amount b, but 18 mph to 25 mph definitely feels quicker. So, everything in the drive train from the spur to the axles out to the wheels is beefed up. Also, the hubs, knuckles, and shock towers are all HD components. So the bang for the $ is substantial. Wait until you see my upgrade video. Great platform to upgrade.
@hyperc5249 oh yeah, I know. Just the HD parts alone make it worth the buy. Not to mention it's a good starter RC for some younger buyers

What's the difference between them besides speed
Adjustable toe and camber links, aluminum center drive shaft, motor & ESC, and body color.
The Maverick Quantum RX flux is a similar size and design and runs upto 4s out the box 👍
I have one of those also. I Ike WRC cars. I have 7 RC rally cars. I like to review Traxxas cars because the brand is so popular. I will review the RX flux this spring because it doesn't have sealed bearing, and I don't want to rust it up.

Will get soon a BL2s vs the Subaru WR8 and after the VXL Traxxas Fiesta after 15 February when will be available in our retail hobby shop.

Yeah, they say on the website that the VXL 3s brushless system works in it. Foreshadowing it already.
Traxxas needs all new controllers they can’t keep using the same remotes over & over with no changes but maybe they figure most enthusiast will use there own controller anyway.
Agreed. Even $150 R/C RTRs cars come with sterring Dual Rate. Old and outdated.

Correct. This is the BL-2S system. I'm not thrilled that Traxxas waited less than a month to release a better model. I had already planned on upgrading the electronics. Wait until you see the upgrade video. It is going to perform better than the VXL for the same price, $429. Awesome car.

Brushed systems' top speed was 18mph. This has more torque and speed.
They just announced the Vxl version today !!
Dude! I know. What the heck, Traxxas!?!?!? That's OK because the motor ESC combo I just got is better than the VXL. The upgrade video is coming soon.

Thats why the opening clip has none. I try to have a little of both. Then the second running clips have music and RC sound. It's hard to keep the masses happy.

The HPI is a race car, and this is a basher. But we a few upgrades it will be awsome.
Hope to see an Ultimate version soon. Its so nice, but way to slow.

@LyroLife I'm not spending another $350. The HD parts don't need to be replaced with aluminum. If you sub you can see the upgrade video when it comes out.

It actually hit 25. Which isn't too bad. Lots of torque. With a pinion swap, im sure it will do 30. They beefed up the drive train. So wait until you see my upgrade video. It's going to be a rocket.

@@hyperc5249 yes but that's precisely the problem, who wants to buy a "new" bl 2s system just to directly remove it and put in a vxl, which we could already do with the brushed, apart from the heavy kit I don't see the point...

I can never justify getting a traxxas, they are sooooo over priced, I'm surprised so many people buy there lower end stuff, I mean £600 for a maxx, joke money imo that is, I just got a corally kronos brand new for £350

Besides a few top end stuff, its extremely overpriced mediocre stuff
3 things. 1 they are tuff and well built. 2 they have parts availability in every hobby shop 3 replacement parts are cheap. I like Arrma as well. I really need to get a Team Corally. I have had my eye on a few.
Yea they have a very good eco system. But they are pricey.
3s Arrma range no centre diff upgrade, but Traxxas has one.
Apparently they are very user friendly and easy to work on too.
I only have the MT10 but iv been looking for a Rally.

@chrisvda7277 no comparison. HPI WR8 is the king of Rally RC cars. The CEN Ford Puma comes in 2nd. The Fiesta is more of a basher then an all-out Rally race car.
@@chrisvda7277i have the Subaru hpi and will get soon the BL2s rally . But isn't a fair VS because the WR8 is running with 3S LiPo😂 as Traxxas can get a maximum 2S in in it...

Box stock it's not super fast. A pinion change will get you 30+mph. But the drive train is beefed up to handle a lot more power. I have an upgrade video coming out. It going to be a beast.
