Thank you so much for posting this , last walked those hills in 1984 when I visited my grandmother who lived in Colwall, brought back some nice memories of her and England. I live in the USA
Loved your video i lived in Malvern Wells from the age of 5 to 13yrs the hills were my playground I love them, my sisters ashes are under a tree overlooking where we lived I will join her one day as it is a wonderful place. A lovely memory I have is opening the curtains in the morning and seeing the hills all White with snow Thanks for taking me down memory lane :)
+3:48 Interval training! 😁 I've never been there, only seen them from afar, but the landscape looks like quintessentially English loveliness. The good weather showing it off to it's best.
Thank you for your fantastic video, Grace. I am heading to the Malvern Hills this summer for a few days hiking holiday, so this was very helpful and informative.
I grew up in Worcester, so only about 20 minutes away, and walked often on the Malverns, including doing end-to-end twice in my teens. I can’t pretend to remember each one individually (or what they’re all called!) but this brought back nostalgic memories! I live in the North now and this makes me miss the midlands…
Nice vlog. I live on the Malvern Hills and it’s always a pleasure to see people enjoying them. There are many different routes which can be undertaken by all abilities, some beautiful natural springs, quarries and cave systems too. Really enjoyed your video, hope to see more! Subbed. 👍
@Jellybean malvern link station drops you at the north end of the hills. Head up the Worcester road and then north malvern road that will take you to the clock tower and one way onto the hills. The other is great malvern station head up avenue road that takes you into great malvern. Carry on up church street and at belle vue terrace enter the rose bank gardens which has the ‘99 steps’ that takes you up onto the hills.
Great video. 1 always use a garman GPS never a smart phone 2 even if you double back you can be weak and cut out hills to keep your return route as flat as you want or need to if your legs are wearing out 3 you missed out ragged stone hill 254m, you need to walk east down a road till you see what looks like a small quarry and walk up the tiny high paths and it's extremley steep towards the top. I walked from the malvern wells car park to the beacon then to the north hill 397m doubled back in 3:37 just before 22:00 did 9.1 miles total ascent 4725 ft decent 4114 ft max elevation 1413 ft min elevation 111ft. If I could of carried on past my car I could of done more. I'd recommend parking in the middle or to the north if you want ot get really fit but you don't need to injure yourself if you are not used to endurance sport. I live in worcester and can spot the locals because they are running around with a six pack showing off or wearing feel running trainners. I slipped over in the rain walking with a friend on the north hill 397m. There is no moutain rescue so you really have to be stupid in a quarry or Ivy scar to get into trouble. There is alot of bouldering you can do in that area. I'd recommend the Garmin etrx 30 and some walking sticks for later use.
Coming from Great Malvern, I remember doing a 10 mile sponsored walk each year towards the end of term, with the school along 'The Hills'. They were a bit of a laugh.
We don't have trig markers here in Canada. At least in Ontario. Perhaps in the Rockies they exist. Sometime there are Cairns. Enjoying watching your yomping about since I found your channel the other day.
Well done, that's quite a challege! I don't know anyone who's walked the whole lot in one go but I would've guessed the distance was longer. Alll the best!
Im so lucky to live right on top of the Malvern Hills ! Never heard of 'Millenium Hill' tho !!!! I assume that was 'British Camp/Herefordshire Beacon' ? Didnt know they'd given it a third name !
I've got some time off in a couple of weeks and was thinking of heading up to Malvern to do this. I've walked up individual bits of it while working up there but not done the whole length
It's well worth doing, such a beautiful 10 miles of hills! You'd either just need a car at each end or walk back (and you can skip most of the hills using the path to the side if you walk it). Hope you enjoy it!
@@GracesAdventures I was thinking of driving to Ledbury and parking up there, doing the walk and then you can take the train three stops from the bottom of the hill in Malvern back to Ledbury.
Wow, beautiful video. I plan to go there in December 2021. I won't have time to do all the hills. If I only have 2-3 hours, which ones would you recommend please?
Hi Grace I lived there for about 10 years until a year ago ( now in the Forest of Dean an interesting contrast not far away) and never did the full walk so you've inspired me , btw did you walk back to the car or get a lift ??!!
Hi Grace, what route / route mapper were you using to follow the trail? That first bit from Chase End Hill until you get out onto the 3rd hill is always tricky to sort out.
Looks like you finished on the North Hill not end hill 😬 you still had one more hill to go and drop down to west malvern. Looks like you finished at the clock tower . Still a fantastic walk im so lucky to live in malverm and I get to spend alot of time up the hills its one of my favourite places
Did you walk the British Camp ( Bronze Age hill fort ) ? That’s a decent walk if you walk from Ledbury castle in Eastor , you Will past the Land Rovers doing their kid climbs !
Great video, just what I was looking for while planning my walk end to end. Did you come across any water points on your route, either taps provided or fresh water streams? Cheers
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! There is a cafe almost mid-way which serve drinks and snacks which proves handy ☺️ other than that no fresh water streams or taps that I saw!
Good going Grace. It was worth doing a dance or two for. The weather was perfect. How long was it before your legs recovered? Your fit no doubt a day or so. I've done that walk to with my twin brother. The views either side are great. All the best. Mark (Hereford)
How did you get back to your car? I'm looking on Google Maps what the route for public transport will be and it says it will take just over 4 hours to get back to the southside by bus. Or did you have a friend pick you up?
What she thought was ‘End Hill’ was actually North Hill. End Hill was below that. I walked them twice for a dare, from End Hill to Chase End Hill and back. Crikey.

I would suggest to anyone else wanting to do this to ditch the technology and get a paper map, OS or even one of the dedicated walkers maps from the Conservators, that way you will be able to see which paths are for walkers only and can have words with the many bike riders who ignore the rules! BTW, no mention of Black Hill?

millenium hill is by Hollybush. still a 20-30 min walk from british camp

Be doing this route end of month is chase end car park where you start opposite end to the town itself or is end hill

Going tomorrow. Darn I'm going to struggle. 😅
so how did u get back from the ending point back to u r car?
