Great video - thanks for sharing. I cut my teeth on these hills when I was growing up in Birmingham. The Malverns will always have a special place in my heart - they gave me a taste for the hills.
+Lakes Camper Thanks for commenting, that's really great to here. I hope that it brought back some great memories. I've only done them once myself but I can see the attraction. I am pretty sure there's loads more interesting history to discover for next time. Regards James
My wife and I moved from St Ives in Cornwall to be close to our son and grand daughter. Happily they, and now we, live in Malvern, right next to the hills. We had no idea how lovely they are until we came. It’s not Cornwall, but it’s nice to live here.
Nice one James..looks a very interesting walk that, nowt like a trail with some good old ancient hill forts & other significant historical stuff to look at,love that type of stuff myself...cracking timelapse of the sunset there at the end too mate & excellent views all round the walk. tfs mate atb..Andy.
+Andrew Beavers Thanks Andy It completely took me us by surprise this one, I wished I had video recorded the group of guys pushing a piano up to the Worcestershire Beacon that day too! I am pretty sure there's a fair bit more history in those hills to explore for next time, I Comment appreciated as always dude. Regards James
The weather makes a massive difference on a walk like this James, them views were beautiful topped off with a fine sunset. The paths are well trod, shows how popular it is. Cheers mate a really well put together vid so informative. ATB. Jim.
+Jim Holden Cheers thanks Jim it's appreciated. I've come to the conclusion taking video of it throwing it down kind of takes the shine of it, unless I am on a multi day trip. But nevertheless we were spot on with the weather. Regards James
dazbass007 Nice one, I think we are going back one day. You certainly get more out of it in good conditions, and there’s pubs and cafes along the route! We’d love to start at one one and walk the whole route. Thanks for commenting. Regards James
The Malvern Hills are a real treat and so conveniently formed. I'm pleased you were able to make your way there as I believe too many people would drive past (I have the same opinion of Shropshire). I also think you did well to pack so much and so many ascents in to one day. :-)
+Olly Outdoors It’s definitely a place that I will re visit one day, we fancy doing it end to end on another nice day. You can see why so many people access it and enjoy it so much, I guess that where all the history come from. Thanks for watching. Regards James and Kirsteen
A perfect day James. The views were as grand as I remember them the last time I was up there with my brother Paul. I enjoyed your on the spot history tour....very gorilla vlog style. There sure is a culture surrounding them hills. Bikes, walkers, eating and drinks and festivals what with Eastnor Castle being host to some good ones. Well fabulous end and great vibe throughout. All the best. Mark.
+Wye Explorer Thanks Mark I am glad it bought back happy memories for you and Paul. That was a day that we were unprepared for, and it blew us away. I wished we had done a little preparation. When Kirsteen booked the weekend there I thought, this isn't going to be very exciting How wrong was I, and it just goes to show that you dont need to slog your guts up to the highest mountains for the views. Thanks for commenting. Take care Regards James and Kirsteen
A pleasure as were the memories James. Yeah the Malverns are good either side. It's a well wooded gem with views for miles and miles either side. I will take care and you both.
it is an area very close to where I live. I am planning a walk across the entire ridge from Malvern in the north, over North Hill, finishing at Chase Hill the most southerly of the ridge, then walk on down to Ledbury.
That sounds really good, I missed a couple at the start and end I think, but when I arranged the trip I had no idea how good it was going to be and it really surprised us. You can understand why it’s so popular, it’s just so accessible and well promoted for good use. Good luck with the walk and I hope you enjoy it. Regards James
if you have never tried the Shropshire Hills around Church Stretton, I highly recommend them. Caer Carradog and The Lawley are very good. very similar to The Malverns but not as busy.
Thanks for that, It sounds like a good idea for a weekend break in the summer so I will definitely keep it in mind. It’s always nice to find new places as an alternative to the Lakes or Peaks. Thanks Again. Regards James and Kirsteen
What a brilliant video James! I enjoyed every minute of this, especially as it was a new place for me and all the information you gave made it even more enjoyable. It looked a great place to walk, with clear paths and great views, whichever way you looked. The sunset shots at the end were spectacular and well worth the wait! Cheers Alan
+Alan METALMAN Thanks Alan We are really glad that you enjoyed it, that's our first visit and won't be our last. It's a very social walk and I am pretty sure there is loads more history along the route that we would have missed. Regards James
Whoa... This was unexpected and a delight to watch, beautiful countryside throughout, so glad I watched on my TV.. Ideal walks for my wife as well and another one within striking distance for us too for a one day'er.. .. Loving your channel, but you will have to make some more before I get through them all.. ;) Thanks again for a delightful and interesting watch..
+MrQuintonia It did cross my mind that I was running out of stuff to put up, I have got one on the go at the moment. I tend to do them at my leisure rather than stress about them. That was a seriously stunning place and blew us away. If you get a map you can plan your entry points and parking very easily. You can make any of those walks as easy or hard as you like, there's paths everywhere. Do it on a dry day with not to much wind and you will get a lot more out of it, and go and look at the obelisk as part of your walk, it was the bit we missed out. Thanks once again. Regards James
A cracking video mate, really enjoyed it 👍🏻 it looked a really great walk with plenty of history along the way. Great to see you carrying the flag, still need to get one myself, all proper expeditions have a flag 😎 hope Grandad Keith sorted his allotment emergency 😂 Thanks for sharing, Atb Mark

At 1,395 ft. (425 meters). Equals 465 Yards. 1 Mile = 1760 Yards. 1/2 Mile = 880 Yards. 1/4 Mile = 440 Yards (1,320ft). Therefore Worchester Beacon is a little more (25 yards) than 1/4 of 1 mile high. Please do comment if any of those numbers are wrong (To within feet, meters or yards (not inches or divisions of a meter (TY))).
@@wasdalemanexploringoutdoor5137 TY. We used to run the 440yards at school before metrification. Twice around the track was half a mile and 4 times around was the coronation and assention of George the 3rd and consequently the year George 2nd died. LOL
Nice hill walk the Malverns! super sunset shot! 👍☀️🥾
Came across this vid, really shows the layout of all the hills...great work.
