Thanks for the video. My wife and I will be coming up to PF next week and will definitely head over to Gatlinburg to check out the Arts & Crafts area. We've been to Gatlinburg many times but somehow we've never visited that part. Thanks again for sharing.
Update - We drove through that area today, 10/24/2023, and stopped at several shops. My wife bought a few things. I understand artisans not wanting filming inside but they should recognize the benefit your channel brings to them in the form of free advertising and allow some access. We might not have bought out the stores but we wouldn't have gone there at all without having seen the video.

I've done the pottery class. It was really good. They mailed my piece to me about 3 months later (it needs to cure and be fired in the kiln multiple times). The other two people in my class said there is also a glass blowing class somewhere.

40 years ago there was a candle shop on the loop called Loralies. At 1 time I had collected 100 animal candles.
It's still there, just in a different location.

Glad to see you guys check out the arts and crafts community and split rail eats. We are going to try them for lunch when we are up in February. What would you guys recommend trying? Do you have any favorite stores in the community? Are most of the shops closed in February? We want to check out a few stores out there.

My son and his wife got married at a chaple just as you go out of Gatlinburg toward Pigeon Forge. It's a business now, maybe cabin rentals? But it was in December and the little white chaple was decorated for Christmas. It was just beautiful!!!! Our family and the brides family all were there. We all had cabins and spent 2 nights. The newlyweds stayed another few days and had a great time. That was in 2004 and they 2 precious sons!! Thank God for them!!!
Great video! I had never hear of the Arts and Crafts Community! I don't know about anybody else but I would like to see you and Dawn do the pottery class. I think hobby classes like that would make for a nice and different video!

This was a great vlog! We've always loved the arts & crafts community. I saw a lot of new shops that weren't there the last time we were there. Every time you go to Santa's Klaus-et, my first thought is "watch out for the bear"..... 😉
I have never been to the Arts and Crafts District before. Several years ago on the tv at the motels they advertised the "Genuine Alewine" constantly. I always wanted to see it. Thanks for showing it.

I REMEMBER THE BEAR VIDEO. I LOVE THE ARTS AND CRAFTS LOOP. MY FAVORITE IS MISTY MOUNTAIN SOAP BUT YOU KNOW I AM A SOAP FREAK. BY THE WAY PEGGY THE POODLE HAG A SMALL PROCEDURE DONE WEDNESDAY AND IS DOING GREAT. SHE WAS A VERY GOOD GIRL AT THE VET.

Morning mist village is our favorite place to go in the arts and crafts community . All the fall decor is really beautiful. We usually eat there at Morning Miat Village.

Someday you all may want to venture down to our neck of the woods which would make a great TH-cam video here in Georgia which is the largest 220 mile yard sale the second weekend in March of 2024 which starts in middle Georgia to the golden Isles of the Georgia coast , called the peaches to beaches yard sale along US hwy 341 10:15
You may even show up on our local news in Perry Ga 🥰
This might get you out to venture out from the Smokies 🥰
Spend a night in Savannah or Brunswick ga
Or do a TH-cam video in Savannah Ga , awesome history and shuttle tour of Savannah history, and movies filmed there 😊👍🥰
Go to the pink house restaurant or pirate house restaurant, and enjoy the walk along the river front
Cucumber and onions at Pancake Pantry are wonderful, and their 3 bean salad. We sometimes get a box lunch from Pancake Pantry and go-to Metcalf Bottoms for a picnic. If you haven't tried it, you should!

We got married at Honeymoon Hills off of Glades Rd. up the mountain.
Not sure about pottery classes but if you all ever venture out to New Orleans the cooking classes are fun and you get to eat what you make 😊👍lots of fun

My wife AWAYS has to "do the craft circle" as she calls it on every visit. Although she says she wishes there was more traditional regional crafts being done like years ago. Glad you scouted out Split Rail, we have been wanting to try it and WOW that food looked great! Will, I had heard that those living quarters above the shops were for the artisans and their families to live in. By the way, is the yeller Jeep down for repairs? We enjoyed the craft loop trip, thanks for the info.

I never got to go any of those places, when we lived there. Thanks for letting us come along. My husbands cousin, Arnold McDowell, had an art studio up there. The food looks wonderful.😊

Next to Statuary place is new big cabins and the largest rental in TN, 26 bedrooms (it had a billboard saying that, next to the cabin, a few months ago while still under construction)

That Bear Cub Cafe is where Delauders used to be. Couldn’t believe we found the absolute best BBQ in a little shoe box sized building.
You can save on calories when eating salad by taking off the croutons.
