- Fujitsu fi-8170 3D Printed Fix for Lines and Impressions on Back of Card!
Was up until 2AM drawing this out to make it work and I finally managed to get it to the perfect fit and function. In this video I test the print by scanning 1000 cards to make sure that the print can stand up to the non-stop auto-feed and speed of the 8170. I am happy to say that it worked flawlessly. So there you have it. We are now on to something that is not only a more permanent solution, but something that removes the issue without removing the quality and functionality of the scans.
I will post this part for sale on my website (links below) but if you have a 3D printer I will also post the stl file so that you can download it and print it yourself. This is easy, it is cheap, and it works!

@MaxPaxWax was there any setting adjustments you had to do to get your chrome cards to look so nice in the scans? I just got the fi-8040 and my chrome cards are so dark they’re unusable. I’ve been looking around but can’t find any info on how to fix the dark scans. If the fi-8170 images are that clean I may have to return and upgrade. Appreciate any feedback. Thanks!
This looks amazing! How does it hold up to non sleeved cards? I have a ton of bulk I want to send through the scanner, but not sleeve them all. Thank you!
David, I tested it on raw cards without sleeves and it worked well. Let me know if you have issues as there is always room to modify the part here and there as needed.
Thank you for the reply! Order has been placed. I've tried all kinds of tape and messing with that part, taking it in and out with not a lot of success. I was super excited when I stumbled on this video. Looking forward to giving it a go!

I scan exactly as you do sideways and I get 2 lines indented across the card on the back. That is a different issue from this right?
