FFXI was the only thing that I played more than EQOA back in the day! Pld is cool! Last time I was on a year or so ago I was working my way through getting AF1.

What differences would you highlight between FFXI and EQ?

Controls for sure, FFXI is really built for a controller and it's heavy menu based. Also avoiding enemies in FFXI some aggro from sound, some from sight so getting around the world and avoiding mobs is very different. Also unlocking classes as I showed in this video, you can only start as a handful of classes and all the others have to be unlocked. And finally, subclasses, you get to pick another class that you level up that you get to keep the abilities from that class up to half of the level of whatever your main class is. AND of course, that means, on one toon you can be as many classes as you want but you can only switch classes by going back to your house. I would say those are the largest differences in FFXI vs EQ
