I love how this game uses the "Oh no. They found me out." factor to instill fear in you the whole time. There are so many moments where people will grab your hand or say something SUPER SUSPICIOUS and then laugh it off. It's actually terrifying.
It’s actually a pretty funny joke if you learn a little German. If you’re from a city “X” they will never call you an Xer. They will only say that you are from X. The joke here is that calling yourself a Frankfurter would mean that you are calling yourself a hot dog, and thus out yourself as a spy. Kinda like in the bar scene from Inglourious Basterds. On a related note something similar happened when Reagan gave a speech in Berlin. He said “Ich bin ein Berliner.” Obviously, he was attempting to identify with the people of Berlin, but accidentally called himself a jelly doughnut instead.

Yeah I mean blazkowicz was so badass one of his descendants who is named after him went on to slaughter demons and now all of hell fears him his name is the doomslayer and hes basically a demi God cuz of some alien divine machine, confusing if you dont know the lore on doom but doom and wolfenstein are in the same universe, doomslaye has killed like 4 or 5 God level beings most of them being God level demons tho but he killed one with his bare hands and he killed the darklord or the devil who is also God in doom again confusing if you dont know the lore but it makes sense when you do know the lore, also the doomslayer is actually alot more brutal then blazkowicz and I mean alot more brutal he rips heads off demons like its bread and beats demons to death with they're horns or arms sometimes he rips theyre eyes out, sometimes he kills them with a chainsaw ripping them in half sometimes he crushes they're heads, yeah alot more brutal and he literally personifies big guns self everything and personifies rage solves everything hes doom incarnate, also I personally think doomslayer has a more fucked yo backstory then any other character ever made, demons invaded his dimension and took everything from him, his family, his home world(earth), his people but the weird thing is that the thing that made him genocidal for demons was that they killed his rabbit, yep and for that he jumped in to hell ripping and tearing not caring about himself anymore like he has a death wish, he fought demons in hell for eons with no backup often injured with little to no resources and ammo and still fucked up the demons, in the thousand s of year of hell invading other dimensions in the doom universe hes the only person who fought them and survived and actually but a dent in them, they're forces are almost infinite but he decimated so many that they couldn't stop him it took the demons collapsing a temple on him and all that did is just to put him in a coma, and that temple was massive fucking massive, and the demons for reasons I still dont understand couldn't kill the doomslayer so they sealed him away in a casket, blazkowicz would be proud of doomslayer, but I'm sad the doomslayers journey of revenge against the the demons and the darklord who had wronged him is over he killed the darklord, when asked by the darklord if he had anything to say to his creator cuz the darklord created the other dimensions besides hell, the doomslayer just said no and stabbed him in the chest
Rudi knew he was a spy. He just wanted to let him get closer to his own torture chair. You can even tell from his dialogue. When he says "hotdog", Rudi responds: "They must be crazy those Americans. You'll be suprised when we're in power." In german, clearly stating that he knows Blazko's an American.

And of course you need to study grammatics really hard. But dont freak out if you fail to understand some of the grammar, even we germans sometimes have a hard time figuring out how a sentence should be said. And a little tip: the „Umlaute“ Ä Ö Ü are not spoken like the normal A O U .for that you could probably look for videos on TH-cam. Good luck learning!!
I loved my experience with these games because I know some German but am not fluent in it, so when the Germans talk to each other, I sometimes catch little key words that hint at what they’re saying, which makes the experience wonderful as I try to figure out what they’re about to do while still not knowing for sure!
