attention all amateurs: play along with that chord index once a day and you’ll know the entire fretboard in six months or less, I am certain. What a sneaky good exercise! Great video.
Fantastic - As a long time ukulele and guitar player who has only messed around with the mandolin for a few years, I don't knot why this never dawned on me. I've worked on my chop chords and melody playing, but always thought chops just weren't right for accompanying songs either by myself or in a group without a guitar. Thanks for steering me this way.
Great for bouzouki and octave mando too!... i do always have a giggle when mando players talk about sssstretchhhinnnngggg to the 5th fret. From my perspective when playing mando its more like *squish* your ring finger in to the 5th fret. Haha Great video!. Very useful and structure in a perfect way to demystify accompaniment

I've been looking for this for ages as I can't get my fingers around chop chords. A whole new world of possibilities. Thankyou.
I really have been waiting three years that I’ve been playing mandolin for such lesson!
This looks really useful, not just for accompanying other mandolins but also vocalists
As a guitar player and newish mando player i appreciate this video. More please...
Very well done, such clean and clear tone and technique. Love the ideas.
This is the single most useful mandolin lesson I've seen so far in my few short months playing. It's much appreciated
Thank you for everything you give to the mandolin world!

I'm a Mandola player for my folk/bluegrass band. I'm the rhythm string guy for our group and this video is a god send. Thanks so much.
Perhaps a tutorial on other patterns like 6/8 or 9/8 someday?
Thanks. Very usefull to fill in on a set. Really helps to round out accompaniment.
Bury me beneath the willow is one of my favorite songs.
This is so good and helpful, David! This will help greatly when playing in a duo setting with my guitar player.
Thank you! Very tasteful base-runs included!
Here is a real master class !! Step by step, very pedagogic. Thanks a lot
Very cool. I'm still grabbling with Fret notes and how to apply them in an appealing manner. This gives me a lot to work with. Thanks
Excellence tips for a newer mando player!

Perfect timing! Thank you 😅😊
What a great video. Man, sigh great info. What a legend. Thank you.
Beautiful job
Excellent!! Wow.
Dear David, when you switched from Bb major to B minor I though you were going to move up one fret. Is this particular B minor also Bb minor?
I would love to print these , but not sure how
Great 🎉
